"I did not think that you would be interested in this, Your Highness," said Howin nervously as she looked around the empty room.

"Why not?" Tianshi Xue replied. "I think its necessary to know about first aid, right?" It had been one of her wildest dreams to play a lunatic doctor on a TV show. But she was no longer an actress.

So maybe she could be a lunatic doctor-slash-princess.

"I think it would be really fun to stitch someone up," she said, and glanced at the nicely healing scar on her inner arm. It looked like a permanent insect was trapped under her skin but she was getting used to it.

"Stitches?" Howin asked, looking pale. "I'm afraid of needles."

"I don't think we'll learn about needles today, Howin," she said patiently. She decided last night that she was not going to let other people ruin her mood. From now on, she was just going to be free. "We'll just learn about the basic stuff."
