Capítulo 41: Ch 41:- Portal Adventure Part-2
Rayne woke up early, unable to sleep for more than three hours despite the daylight streaming into his room. He checked on everyone in the shelter and found them still asleep. Scribbling a quick note saying he was going to explore, he slipped out of the apartment and made his way to where Selene's team was staying.
The streets were almost empty, with only a few students wandering about. Rayne grabbed a corndog to munch on as he walked, enjoying the taste of the salty snack. When he reached Selene's apartment, he activated an invisibility charm, his body becoming ethereal as he crawled up the wall like Spiderman until he reached the second floor. He spotted an open window and snuck into the room which was coincidentally Selene's. Rayne moved silently towards the clothes that Selene had left out. As he picked up her bra, he inserted a small tracker into it, making a small incision in the strap before placing it back down.
Just as he finished, he heard the sound of the bathroom door opening. Heart racing, he moved quickly towards the window, careful not to make a sound. When he looked up, his breath caught in his throat as he saw Selene emerge from the shower, her hair wet and a towel wrapped around her curvaceous form. The water droplets glistened on her skin, emphasizing her sensuality.
Rayne shook his head to clear his thoughts, knowing he had to leave before he was caught. He slowly made his way towards the window, Selene moving in the same direction to close it. In a daring move, he jumped out at the last moment, causing a loud thud as he hit the ground below. Selene rushed to the window, suspicion etched on her face, but when she saw no one there, she quickly shut it.
'Holy shit, that was very risky,' Rayne thought to himself.
After moving a considerable distance away from where Selene's team's apartment could not be seen, he took out his tab and checked to see if it was working fine. It had some minor signal issues, but they weren't a problem for the time being. As Erin had said that he wasn't needed in the team, Rayne went to a dark alleyway that was very hard to find due to the intense sunlight. After entering it, he changed into his trusty hunter attire, which was one of the best pieces of armor he had, excluding the dragon suit armor, which was on a whole another level. However, that armor didn't have one major thing that this armor had: the ability to manage the internal temperature of the clothing according to the outside temperature. This was only possible with the help of a resource that was found in the icy tundra of the nightmare realm called Half n Half. It was a slimy substance that was made into small five pieces of pads, which were attached to the inside of the vest to keep it cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather.
After changing into his hunter attire, Rayne made his way through the bustling shelter, attracting curious glances from passersby who mistook him for a wandering traveler. He soon reached the exit, but was met with a daunting security checkpoint that required an ID to pass through. Being a student, Rayne knew he was not allowed to leave without his team, but he wasn't about to let that stop him.
He then went on and activated his last invisibility charm and took off running, leaving the guards feeling only a light breeze in his wake. Rayne headed toward the desert in search of prey, creating two disc-shaped platform of blood to stand on it and using them to practically fly above the sand dunes by controlling the blood disc to harden and then levitate.
After finding a suitable location, Rayne summoned his rifle and perched himself on a nearby tree branch. He soon spotted his first target, a basic-tier beast hiding in the bushes, and took aim before firing a blood bullet with deathly precision as the blood bullet sailed through the air and then finally embedding itself into his head and leaving a gaping hole. As he continued to hunt for about 30 minutes, he was able to kill 3 more beast he then jumped down the tree and carved through the flesh of each kill and extracted the valuable crystals that were covered in black blood.
Feeling satisfied Rayne decided to explore the area for any other resources he might find. He was glad he did, as he stumbled upon a patch of herbs that he knew would be useful for a medicinal bath for his physical body conditioning.
After wandering through the desert for a while, Rayne hunted down any beast that crossed his path with his weapons, including his spear and Okatana both from the nightmare realm and his sniper rifle. Along the way with the people that he met which included students for most of the part, he was mistaken for a traveller by both students and traveller alike due to his weapon and clothes.
When he encountered his first ever advanced tier beast, he had to use every skill at his disposal, including bloody slashes, blood bullets, and several other blood abilities like hemorrhage built-up and bloodflame it fell under blood magic category , to take it down. The beast was a gigantic scorpion with a barbed exoskeleton and huge claws that had an obsidian shine to them. It also had an ability that let it create small but deadly pressurized air explosions with its pincers. After a struggle, Rayne was able to take it down. In total, he successfully killed ten beasts, consisting of six basic tier, three intermediate tier, and one advanced tier.
But Rayne's mission wasn't over yet it had just started. He had been tasked with tracking and keeping an eye on Selene, as instructed by his grandfather. The promise of 50,000 credits and the chance to keep his non-human identity a secret had convinced him to take the job, he still wasn't able to figure out how the hell did that old man was able to figure that out in the first place.
As he watched her from a distance, Rayne felt annoyance for wasting his time but the view was able to somewhat cover that up. Her sweat made her clothes cling to her body, revealing every curve and contour. Rayne was no pervert. He had a job to do, and he was doing it well, which was to observe her.
As Rayne sat atop a broken-down building, he noticed something falling from the sky. He channeled Qi into his eyes and used his rifle scope to increase the clarity of his vision. He thought to himself, "Is that an attack ball from Dragon Ball?" as he looked at the black ship, which was the size of a car. After skimming through his memories, Rayne finally remembered what it was: an attack ship that Dalki uses to send their troops to planets.
