100% Reborn Villaness And The Vampire King / Chapter 18: No uniform no entry

Capítulo 18: No uniform no entry

The drunk man was an intriguing storyteller hooking everyone even the few children who should have been terrified. Circe on the other hand scoffed internally listening to this botched story. This man forgot to mention how her sister had to beg her to join the alliance. If it weren't for that would they have dared to climb up her mountain and ask her to join? They despised her methods but loved the outcome. Just when she thought he wouldn't mention that night the drunk bastard opened his mouth and said,

"One fateful night, the vampire king, the leader of the alliance, was betrayed by one of his own. The dark evil witch Circe poisoned him and tore his heart from his chest for dark and sinister rituals. Rumour has it that she had gone mad and hungry for power."

"No evil in this world prevails. She was captured and burned at the stake. They say she was laughing manically the entire time and vowed to take revenge.

Her ashes were scattered to the sea by her sister Ayra in front of all the alliance leaders. They wanted to make sure she had no way of coming back and starting trouble—."

Circe sneered coldly drawing the drunkard's attention.

"What? Did I speak a lie? Or maybe you are one of those crazy cultists who praise that vulgar demon's name?" he said pointing at her his eyes narrowed.

Circe's brow arched. She couldn't believe that there was a cult of followers out there advocating for her.

"How interesting," she whispered under her breath as the train came to a stop.

The drunk man staggered to his feet and stumbled forward his finger pointing at her. "Heed my word. Leave that cult while you can because when the Blood King wakes up," he said before making a throat-slitting gesture with his thumb. He laughed manically as he stumbled off the train.

Circe's gaze remained fixed on him as the doors slowly closed. She gagged internally the smell of rotting liquor from his breath lingering at the tip of her nose. As for his warning... there was no way in hell she was going to die at that blood sucker's hands. She died saving him in her past life and she won't repeat the same mistake again. Circe closed her eyes trying to suppress the memories of that night.

At the previous station, a group of unsightly men entered the train. Among them, a man with an ugly scar snarled at a young girl who had been minding her own business.

His goons flanked him, their brutish forms surrounding her. The young girl was on the verge of tears silently seeking help but the other passengers averted their eyes, unwilling to intervene.

Circe's patience wore thin. She was already in a terrible mood and was eager to vent her anger. She whispered an incantation internally and the bright lights dimmed in the compartment. The sudden darkness startled everyone with some cursing and children crying.

When the lights flickered back on the scarred man and his goons were knocked unconscious their faces bruised and bloodied like they had been in an MMA fight. The entire compartment was in shock with the young woman trembling in fear.

The announcement came for the next station and as the train drew to a stop Circe got up directly stepping on the scarred man as she exited the train. The man groaned in pain but like a dying cockroach, his legs twitched but he didn't get up.

The other passengers including the young girl that were getting off didn't dare do what she did. They shakily stepped over them and exited the train.

While standing on the escalator, Circe closed her eyes feeling the energy coursing through her veins.

Stepping off the escalator she opened her eyes and her pupils glowed with a fleeting otherworldly light. Her fingers twitched, eager to weave spells long forgotten.

After another bus ride, she finally reached the academy gates. The sky had long gone dark and the crescent moon was almost half in the sky. The academy was shrouded in darkness its spires etching the night sky like ancient runes. Moonlight bathed the wrought-iron gates.

She stepped into the security room on the side of the closed gates to access the entrance for pedestrians. Before she could even reach the magic teleportation gate the security guard, a burly man with a lantern jaw, stepped forward blocking her path.

His uniform bore the academy's emblem. His eyes narrowed at Circe itching to exact his authority however small it was. "State your business," he grunted, his voice echoing through the small room.

Circe's lips curved into a sardonic smile. "I am Circe," she said, her voice like the rustle of silk. "A returning student."

The guard's gaze swept over her as though scrutinising her. "No uniform, no entry."

Circe, "..."

"But Mr...," she said trying to read his name tag. "Mr Anus."

"It's Anis," he corrected feeling quite irritable.

"That's what I said, Anis," said Circe looking so innocent you would think the security guard had imagined it.

"No, you said Anus," he said a glint of anger flashing in his eyes. What joke hadn't he heard about his surname? It wasn't anything new.

"You heard it wrong."

The security guard crossed his arms on his chest before emphasising, "No uniform no entry."

Circe pointed at her suitcase and said, "It's in my suitcase. Do you want to see it?"

"No need," The guard's laughter was bitter. "Uniforms are mandatory, day or night. No exceptions."

"Okay," she said looking like she wasn't going to cause any more trouble. But she suddenly set her suitcase down and crouched down to open it and take out the uniform.

"Hey hey hey, what are you doing?" he said as the smile on his face froze. She put on her uniform shirt over her top and said,

"Putting it on."

"No, that won't do. The rules clearly state that it should be neatly worn with no extra clothing or accessories," he said but who would have thought she would raise the hem of her top like she was about to strip?

The security guard, "???"

Two seconds later Circe was kicked out of the security gate room with her suitcase following after her.

She put on a playful smile finding the entire situation amusing. She was just messing with him but who would have thought she would evoke such a strong reaction? She already had another plan to get inside. If she couldn't use the front gate then she could only create a non-existent back door.
