Dairon's frown deepened.

"Why would you want that?"

She looked saddened by his question and he panicked. He sat down next to her and held her shoulders. "I don't mean that I'm going to reject your idea but why did you change your mind?"

She must have been under some compelling spell of sorts because she was unable to lie to him. "The realm of immortals does not allow anyone to marry twice." She blurted out the truth.

He burst into laughter and stopped when he realized that he was the only one who found it funny. "Wait. You are serious."

She stared at him blankly.

"What difference does it make whether we marry as humans or demi deities?" He asked. He was certain that whether or not he was allowed to have relationships with other women, he would not want to be with anyone aside from her.

He couldn't comprehend her thought process. For some reason, she seemed convinced that he might want to marry another female later.
