"You don't have to do all this. You can leave all this work for Frederick and the maids. Besides you are not gonna get what you want by doing all these," Vincent said feebly.

"I am not doing this for any reward but if you feel bad about me taking care of you. You can become my hidden lover in our next life. I promise to take care of you. I won't let my husband bully you," Stephanie forced herself to cracked a joke just so she could make Vincent smile.

"Seeing how you could still joke around when I am this serious, I guess I was worried for nothing," Vincent said as he let go of her hand.

"Save your breath for later. I will be back with the porridge soon. You can take a quick nap," Stephanie said before she climbed down from the bed.

At the doorpost, she turned and take a last glance at Vincent before she left the room.
