It wasn't his fault, but he resolved to apologise and get even with her.

Eveline gave him a sideways glance. His look appeared innocent, but she knew he was ecstatic that her father had finally allowed him to enter her chamber without having to climb the pipe again.

"Whatever, I'm still going to face him tomorrow. Jesus, it's so embarrassing to be discovered lying to your parents. What must he be thinking?" Eveline couldn't stop panicking. She had always been a little cautious about public affection, but knowing Gabriel didn't give a flying fuck, she realized she needed to get used to it soon.
