Capítulo 33: Chapter 33 Lisa Committed Suicide.
Lisa's father rushed here desperately, his face dreadfully pale.
Chloe couldn't believe what she just heard and froze there for a moment. Then she stood up in a hurry, her voice trembling. "Uncle, what did you say? What happened?"
"The scandal about Lisa six years ago was posted on the Internet. Lisa saw it and couldn't bear the humiliation. So she... slashed her wrist!"

Suddenly, Chloe couldn't hear anything, the surrounding going silent for a moment.
Last night, Lisa told Chloe that she would take care of her father and earn a lot of money to travel around the world.
And then the bad news came like a hammer smashing her head. She felt so dizzy and couldn't even think.

"The scandal about Lisa six years ago... What do you mean? What scandal?" Chloe quickly came back to her senses and asked the critical question.
Feeling the warm hands on her shoulders, Chloe realized that she was trembling involuntarily. While Daniel tried to give her support.
She looked back and met his gentle gaze. He comforted her, "Calm down. I will help you."
"In high school, Lisa was... !" Karl tried to tell the truth which was too bloody for a father and he sighed in tears.
Daniel took Karl's phone where there were some photos and disgusting words. Although the photos were blotted out, Lisa's face could be recognized vaguely.
"How is she now?" Daniel asked calmly.
"She is still in the hospital. I asked one of our relatives to look after her."
"I'll come to see her now." Said Chloe, composing herself, "Uncle, don't worry. I'll handle this."
Seeing that Daniel stayed beside Chloe, Mr. Karl felt much more relieved and was more willing to believe them.
"Chloe, I'm sorry to bother you!"
"Don't say that. It's what I should do. Lisa is my best friend and she will do the same for me.". Then Chloe tugged at Daniel's sleeve, begging with puppy eyes. "Help me, please?"
Looking at her adorable face, Daniel nodded subconsciously.
Since when couldn't he resist her pleading?
Daniel asked himself as he was driving to the hospital.
"Daniel, who do you think is behind all these?" Chloe suddenly asked.
After her rebirth, accidents came one after another. First, she had a car accident, and now something bad happened to Lisa. Lisa was her best friend.
She sensed that someone was aiming at her. Lisa was innocent to get hurt.
But who had done these? Who hated her so much?
Holding the steering wheel, Daniel answered slowly, "We can't jump to a conclusion now. I'll have someone check the IP address first. Then we might know who posted them."
They arrived at 3 am. Despite her tiredness, Chloe came to Lisa's ward and saw she was asleep with a frown.
She suffered from such a horrible blow.
"I have an update. Come out for a word."
Feeling the nudge on her arm, Chloe turned around to see Daniel's tall figure in the dark.
It was so quiet in the corridor. As Daniel and Chloe sat down, he parted his lips.
"These photos were posted on purpose. I've asked Alex to investigate it thoroughly and keep me informed."
"Whoever had posted must know us. Do you think Marlene and Frieda have anything to do with it? After all, they seem to know everything." Chloe blushed in anger.
"Hard to say. If they did it, what was their purpose? Why did they wait for six years and post them now? They have their own lives. Why do they look for more trouble?"
Daniel's words made sense, which left Chloe more puzzled.
If they didn't do it, who did? Chloe had no clues and turned to Daniel subconsciously.
He seemed indifferent to her but always helped her when she was caught in trouble. He had a calm brain and moved fast.
All of a sudden, Chloe felt he was even sexier with his clothes on.
Thanks to his analysis, she didn't confront Marlene and Frieda directly. Or she would only get into more trouble.
Was she... relying on him now?
This thought made her a little flustered. She was supposed to stay away from him but now she was heading in the wrong direction. What if he left her as he did in her previous life?
No, she couldn't repeat her mistake. She must get strong.
As she returned to the ward and saw Lisa's pale face, Chloe couldn't help but burst into tears.
Realizing she almost lost Lisa, she covered her face with her hands, shaking her head. "My poor Lisa. Why did you get hurt so badly! You are so nice and warm. I can't bear to imagine your pain."
Lisa must have made great efforts to forget the scandal and start over. But now her wound was ripped open. She couldn't go through that again.
That was why she gave up and decided to embrace a final end.
Daniel didn't know how to comfort Chloe. So he stayed with her without a word.
He wished he could do more. He put his hand on Chloe's head, hearing her sob trailing off.
Feeling upset, he walked out to have a cigarette.
It seemed so dark and long tonight.
The next morning, Lisa's screaming woke Chloe up suddenly.
"Let go of me! Why did you save me? Let me die! Ah!"
Hearing her hysterical shrill, Chloe hugged Lisa tightly, trying to show her support. Before she opened her mouth, she cried as well.
"I'm sorry, Lisa. It's all my fault. I failed to protect you at that time." Chloe patted Lisa on her back, hoping she could feel better and calm down.
But there was only desperation in Lisa's eyes. "Why? Why did this happen to me? What did I do wrong to deserve this?"
She thought she had walked out of the dark but the reality was just too bloody and brutal.
"You have done nothing wrong. It's my fault. I didn't protect you well. I'm sorry, Lisa. Please don't hurt yourself."
She held Lisa's hand but her hand was trembling more violently than Lisa's. She was scared that Lisa would hurt herself again.
She hated the one who put Lisa through this.
"Lisa, trust me. I promise you I will find the culprit behind this and make sure he gets what he deserves! I will make him suffer!"
But Lisa pushed Chloe away and glared at her, "Why don't you get it! It's useless. I feel so ashamed and only death can bring me peace!"
"Shut up, Lisa!" Chloe roared.
