Soon after the king left, the duchess and the prince went back into the duke's chambers.

While the duchess carried a face full of concerns, she asks them,

"What had the King of the south come for?"

"He wanted to make (me) our daughter his queen, so we rejected him."

While the duchess just gasped and covered her mouth in surprise, Prince Leon's face, on the other hand, instantly turn as dark as the night sky.

Then the father and daughter told them everything except for the matter about Ivy's eye as she did not want her mother, the duchess, to worry and frown about the fact that she had only another year to stay alive.
