Capítulo 2: Chapter Two - Bin-Bag-Man

It was awkward.

Very awkward.

The strange voice was in his head, this he could tell. Yes, it was present. But why, why wasn't it saying anything? At first Silias was happy to stay silent. But it had been over a minute now and a minute is a long time.

"Hello?"

Silas questioned loudly. Still no reply...

"This is getting ridiculous."

Silias said, taking off the hat and looking towards the strange-voice-lady.

"Miss, I think something is wrong."

He slowly stood up from the stool as he spoke. At this point, everyone in the room was getting rather restless, they hadn't eaten in ages. The lady was still, looking confusedly at the hat. She opened her mouth to speak but-

"Minerva, if you'll leave this to me."

A man, who was dressed in what looked like a shiny purple bin bag, arose from his throne-looking seat and levitated the hat before the lady - Minerva - could speak. Minerva curtly nodded and stepped back.

The hat soon reached the man's hands who looked at it - then Silias - oddly. He smiled lightly, then placed it on his thin, greying hair. There was a moment of silence once more, in which the people's gaze switched from bin-bag-man to Silias and back again. To avoid the gazes, Silias closed his pale eyes once more. He seemed to loosen up a tad. He only reopened them once he heard a light chuckling coming from bin-bag-man's direction.

Everyone's eyes were glued on the man, waiting for an explanation. He removed the troublesome hat and smiled in Silias direction.

"It seems that the hat fell asleep whilst trying to sort you."

The bin-bag-man said,

"Apparently your mind is a very comfortable place, the sorting hat's own words. Rather amusing, if I do say so myself."

Everyone just looked at Silias - who at this point was nodding his head profusely with a proud expression on his face - and opened their mouths confusedly.

"Anyhow, it was decided that you will be in Ravenclaw. According to the hat, before it drifted off to sleep, it sensed that you were rather intelligent. Now off you trott young man, I think we've held off dinner long enough already. I fear they may begin to eat each other."

The bin-bag-man said with an unusual smile before nodding to the group of hungry children.

"Yes sir."

Silias nodded and turned to walk away.

"Ah. Which one is Ravenclaw...?"

He muttered to himself.

He decided to walk towards the closest table. There were only four and he was feeling rather lucky today. As he neared the table, the residents of said table - all of which donned yellow ties - looked at him strangely.

'So not this table.'

Silias thought to himself as he drastically changed direction for the next nearest table. When those sat at the table - with red ties - saw the change in direction their expressions paled and all, in synchronisation, shook their heads no.

A few were trying their best to not laugh whilst others facepalmed and sighed. 'This is not going well' Seeing the mass of shaking heads, Silias did a spin. As much as he tried to make it look natural, it was clear to everyone that he had no idea where to go.

"Mr Wallow, please take your seat."

Minerva said, irritation clear on her face.

'I'm trying my best, lady!'

Silias inwardly shouted. In reality, he nodded and made towards one of the two tables that he hadn't visited yet. The next table he saw - blue ties - could be it. But as he got closer, he became less certain.

'That's an eagle. That's an eagle right?'

He panicked as he saw an insignia on the pupil closest to him - a ditsy looking girl with blonde hair

As he got closer to the table he became more and more sure that it was, in fact, an eagle and not a raven.

'They wouldn't put an eagle on the Ravenclaw robes, that just doesn't make sense.'

Silias reasoned with himself. As he got within arms reach of the table, he had locked in his guess and began to veer off towards the next table. However, as he was about to leave the table's area, a hand grasped his, and pulled him down onto the table's bench.

"You sit here."

The ditsy-blonde told him with a nod.

"But... That's an eagle."

He replied with a confused, flat voice. She nodded knowingly and looked around her. By this point, everyone was still looking at him with an expression that showed how unbelievable those few chain of events were. The bin-bag-man has an amused expression on his face as he tried his best to pretend nothing happened.

"Well, now that everyone is... sorted, let's eat. I'm sure you're all famished."

The bin-bag-man clapped his wrinkly hands together and the tables were filled with a wide array of delicious looking food.

Silias stared with wide eyes as he reached for an unusually scrumptious looking yorkshire pudding. The only thing was, the yorkshire pudding was out of his arms reach. He was only eleven and there was a limit to how far his arms could stretch.

He cursed his youth and weighed the pros and cons of standing up to get it. After a moment of silent pondering, Silias decided to settle for a much closer - less scrumptious looking - scotch egg. During this spectacle, the ditsy-looking girl watched with wonder while attempting to guide a fork of ravioli into her partly opened mouth.

She missed twice - leaving a few sauce marks around her lips - but managed to get it in the third time. Silias payed no attention and worked on whittling his scotch egg down like a bunny nibbling a carrot.

All in all, this was quite the amusing scene for the rest of the students to watch. The Ravenclaw's however, were ashamed, the blonde-haired one seemed incapable of getting food in her mouth, whilst the silver-haired one was doing his utmost to mimic a rodent. The students that were sat closest to the pair, scooched down the table as to show they were - unlike the two - capable of eating food...

"You have some... pasta sauce on your face."

Silias finished his scotch egg and looked towards the girl seated next to him. The girl looked at him and nodded.

"I know."

She said, in a happy-uncaring voice. She continued 'eating'. Her rate of missing had gone from two out of three to one out of three. She seemed quite chuffed with herself about that.

"I'm Luna, by the way."

The ditsy-looking girl - Luna - said after another failed attempt at guiding food into her mouth. Silias looked at Luna and then back to the the yorkshire pudding he desired so adamantly.

"Ah. I'm Silias."

The boy replied. He stared at the yorkshire longingly. Lusting for its crispy, gravy-filled loveliness. But alas, he could not be bothered to stand up. That's when an incredible idea popped into his head, with a pleasant smile he looked at Luna.

"Luna... do you reckon... you could pass me that yorkshire over there."

Luna looked at him, then the yorkshire, then back a few more times.

"But you're closer to it...?"

She replied quizzically,

"Why would I get it instead of you?"

She continued.

'She's smarter than she looks.'

Silias cursed inwardly and closed his lilac eyes. He needed to formulate another plan. He began thinking about all sorts of excessive formulae in attempt to build some form of fork chain that could maybe pull the yorkshire towards him.

'It all depends on how much the yorkshire weighs. And to me, that one looks heavy.'

He thought, scrapping the fork chain idea. He was considering another plan - one that involved a glass of water, two grapes and a bowl of baked beans - when his nose was hit by a pleasant smell. A smell that smelled so amazing he began to tear up a bit. He slowly opened his eyes and search for the source of the heavenly scent. It didn't take long to find as it was right in front of his face. The yorkshire pudding. In arms reach.

He looked to the girl, who was still unashamedly covered in pasta sauce, and smiled.
