Capítulo 80: Chapter 80

Cerberus's chains broke with a sickening snap. The first sound, a deep groan of metal snapping, echoed across the barren landscape of the underworld. The earth beneath him cracked as the immense beast stood, his three heads rising above the ground. His fur was matted with ash, and his teeth gleamed like daggers in the eternal gloom of Hell.

The gods had thought him confined, shackled by the strongest chains that the underworld had ever known. But even they couldn't account for his hunger—his need for destruction. The beast's breaths were low, deep rumbles, filled with ancient malice.

He had waited too long.

His escape had been calculated, precise. The moment the chains broke, the gates of Hell cracked open. His feet fell heavily against the ground, shaking the bones of the dead, rattling the entire structure of Hell itself. No one could stop him now.

Cerberus's heads lifted as he looked upon the Earth—a world of softness, of light. A world waiting to be ripped apart. His jaws cracked wide, and the roar he released wasn't just a warning—it was a harbinger.

------

In a quiet town in the heart of England, the morning sun rose. Nothing seemed out of place. No one knew what was coming.

David stepped out of his house, pulling his coat tighter against the morning chill. He was a simple man, working at a small local café. The streets were empty, the air still with a cool, heavy silence. The world felt as if it was holding its breath. Birds didn't sing, and there was no sound of cars.

"Odd," he muttered, reaching for his keys.

His phone buzzed in his pocket. A text from his sister, Rachel. The message was short, urgent.

Turn on the news.

David frowned and pulled his phone from his pocket. The screen lit up with the latest headlines. His hand froze.

Breaking: Unexplained phenomena across the UK. Reports of strange animal attacks and massive destruction. Authorities on high alert.

It didn't make sense. Animal attacks? Destruction? There was no mention of what was causing it. He quickly typed a response to Rachel but hesitated. Something felt wrong. His stomach churned as he read the news again, his mind racing.

"Fuck this," he muttered, stuffing his phone back into his coat pocket.

It was then that the ground trembled beneath his feet.

At first, it was a subtle shake, like a distant earthquake. But as the tremors grew stronger, David stumbled, trying to regain his balance. The sky darkened, clouds gathering above, blocking out the sun in a suffocating shroud.

David looked around, confusion gripping him. People in the street were running, shouting, but none of them knew where to go, or why. And then it happened—the deafening sound of something massive slamming into the ground, shaking the very foundations of the town. Windows shattered. Doors slammed open, and the streets erupted in panic.

David's heart hammered in his chest. He stumbled backward, and then he saw it.

A shadow—no, something—moved through the streets with terrifying force. It was massive, far too large to be any creature David had ever known. Three heads, each the size of a car, each with teeth that could tear through steel.

Cerberus.

The beast's heads snapped back and forth as he walked, the massive paws of his feet shaking the ground with every step. David could hear the growls of the creature, the low rumbles of anger and hunger.

He turned and ran. There was no time to think. He had to get away. He didn't know where—just away. The air was thick with panic. The streets were filled with screaming people, but no one was going anywhere fast. No one was safe.

Cerberus was everywhere. He was the chaos in their world, the destruction they couldn't understand. His eyes were everywhere, tearing through buildings and people like they were nothing.

David's lungs burned, his legs aching, but he pushed on, refusing to stop. Behind him, the world was being destroyed, collapsing under the weight of the beast's fury.

He turned a corner, his breath ragged, and slammed into a woman as she ran past him. She screamed, her face contorted in fear. "It's here! It's here!"

David didn't stop to respond. He couldn't. He had to keep running. But as he rounded another corner, he froze.

Ahead of him stood Cerberus. His massive form blocked the road, his three heads turning toward David in unison. They stared at him with eyes that burned with an ancient fire.

David's heart thudded painfully in his chest. He backed away, knowing it wouldn't matter. There was nowhere to run.

One of Cerberus's heads lowered, the massive jaws snapping as the beast lunged. The sound of his roar shook the entire town, a primal sound that made the ground tremble under David's feet.

In the brief moment before the end came, David thought of Rachel, of his family. He thought of the life he'd never have. And then, the world went silent.

His screams echoed through the air, but no one heard them. No one had the chance.

------

By the time Cerberus left the town, the streets were silent. Bodies lay scattered everywhere. The beast's rampage had only just begun.

Across the UK, the terror spread. Cities crumbled. The countryside was torn apart. Entire populations vanished under the weight of Cerberus's hunger. There were no heroes, no soldiers who could fight the beast. Nothing could stop it.

The world that had once been was no more.

David had been nothing more than a small footnote in the story of Cerberus's return, a tragic figure lost in a world that was no longer there.
