Janice knocks on my door, letting me know that Alice Viljoen is outside, requesting to see me. I wave her in. Alice, as usual, is dressed in yoga pants and a team jacket, Asics netball shoes on her feet. She smiles at me politely when I ask her to take a seat. She mutters a thanks and settles in, crossing her legs. We go through her plans for the team, and in the end, I give her my permission to take them to Australia in September. It is lunch time by the time I am done responding to emails and queries from faculty and boosters. Janice brings me my usual, a simple chicken and mayo sandwich with Pepsi. She brushes up against me as she sets my lunch on the table, making me pull back in my chair.
