Capítulo 97: Aora and Skipper

“Did my burger ever come.” said Aora as she finished up her coke. Skipper reaches beside her and handed a red basket with a rather juicy burger in it. “Yes, been waiting all day for this.” In an instant she’s already eaten half the burger.

“Damn Aora calm down the cow’s already dead.” Aora cuts her eyes at Skipper, while I just sit there all awkwardly watching them bicker. Skipper takes notice of this. “Look at us, Aora chowing down her cow and me eating my salty, but good, fries. Let me get Al over here so you can order. AL!” Her voice carries over the restaurant.

“Skipper no- you don’t have to-

I immediately stop talking once Al, who has an irritated look on his face, comes over with a pencil and pad.

“You called?”

“Oh, don’t be a grump Al. This is my new friend Quinneth, she’s the fu-”. I shake my head vigorously at her, not wanting her to tell people who I really am. “-the funniest girl I’ve ever met in my life, anyways take her order.” His mouth turns into a scowl, someone must hate their job.

“What do you want?”

“Um...” I look around the restaurant, on the wall I see a sign, ‘taste our chocolatey milkshake, put a smile on your face’. “I’ll take the chocolate milkshake, that’s it.”

“Be out to you in ten minutes.” He writes my order and trudges slowly to the back of the kitchen.

“Don’t mind Al, he’s a Gank.” says Skipper.

Looking over to a quiet Aora, I see her still chowing down her burger. Ketchup sauce drips down the corner of her mouth. Next time I come here I’ll have to get one of those, sure it isn’t better than burg-oh-wow. She is literally a spitting image of Aren, only not so angry looking.

“I got a question. What type of name is Quinneth anyways.” Aora asks. Skipper cuts her eyes at Aora, burning lasers into the side of her face.

“Aora!”

“Uh no it’s fine I’ll talk. My mother’s name is Quinn and my father’s grandmother’s name were Beth. It was originally going to be Quinn Beth, but was changed to Quinneth instead. Combining both their names.” Both their faces look at me with surprise, Aora licks up the dripping Ketchup that has been hanging on her face for the past 5 minutes. Skipper hands her a napkin.

“That’s....really creative. I wish my name had some good history behind it.” said Aora.

“Keaorah’s a beautiful name.” Skipper tells her.

“I was named after a women warrior from the 15th century who raided a town. She ripped everyone’s throats out.” Me and Skipper just stare at each other, unsure of what to say. Everyone’s name has some history, whether it be good or not, in this case Aora’s isn’t nice. I wonder about Skipper.

“It’s still a beautiful name Aora. What about you...skipper isn’t your real name right?” The only person I know with the nickname Skipper is Barbie’s little sister.

“Skippers my nickname my first name is-”

“-Helena.” Aora finishes up her sentence.

Skipper starts to fill over her body, what is she doing? “Oh, right I’m Skipper, not you.” She purses her lips as she throws darts at Aora’s face.

“You know I love aggravating you.” She replies.

“Any way's, yes my name is Helena Holt. The reason my nickname is Skipper was because when I stood up instead of walking, I skipped, hence Skipper.” She finishes, pretty creative name.

“How’s is it...you know dating Alexander?” Skippers asks curiously.

“It’s...nice I guess.”

“Just nice. Man, if I could date Alexander, I totally would, don’t worry I would never try that.” Aora assures me. Alexander is a very attractive guy; I've noticed girls staring at him when we went to out in public. I don’t ever feel insecure or anything, until now. These girls are like really powerful women, they can shift and fight. What can I do, paint and forget conversations, but we are mates so he’s not going to want anyone else, right?

“Are mates...definite?” I ask them.

“Uh yeah, the only way you can leave your mate is rejecting them which people don’t usually do. Trust me Alexander is not going to reject you; I see the way he stares at you. Don’t mention this to him, but when you guys had that argument on Homecoming night he was outside all sad staring at the stars. He never stares at the stars, unless he’s sad.”

“True dat.” Aora interjects.

“He was hurting because of what you said to him, also he wanted to tell you that he was a werewolf that night. He loves you, don’t ever feel like he doesn’t.” I didn't know he felt that bad about what I said to him that night. He always seems ok and fine, but the thought of knowing that I- instilled pain in him makes me feel sad. I feel so bad now, we’ll have to talk about it.

“But watch out for the girls around here. They’ll smile in your face but be trying to get your man behind your back.” This sounds like it’s not meant for me but meant for her, Aora.

“Aora...you're getting off topic this is not about Joey.”

“He hurt me, cheated on me with Katie Durkheim that skuzzy slut.” We both just give her weird looks; I’ll make sure I look out for a Katie Durkheim.

“Get back on topic.” Skipper ushers her.

“Right, anyways the girls here will kill you for Alexander.” She sees the fear in my eyes. “Oh, I mean figuratively kill you, yeah, let’s go with figurately.”

“Ignore her we got your back.” Skipper reassures me.

Aora pushes the red basket away from her, slipping into the booth. “Damn that burger was so good, I feel like the King of Dane.” Who’s the king of Dane, wait Alexander did tell me that there were multiple kingdoms around the world, maybe that is one.

“You know you and the king would make an excellent couple.” You can hear the starkness in Skipper’s voice.

“Imagine me being a Queen. Queen Keaorah of Dane, has a nice ring to it.”

“You’d be the worst Queen, most likely a dictatorship.” I laugh at Skipper’s response; I like these girls they are younger than me but are really entertaining.

“Shut up the first thing I do is tell people what to do.” She betters up her posture and puts the red basket on her head like a crown. “You over there massage my feet. HEY you empty my chamber pot.”

“Chamber pot.” Me and Skipper say at the same time.

“Yeah, you both got a problem with it.” I hold my hands up in surrender, but Skipper furthers on the conversation.

“Um yeah I kind of do. No one on this earth still uses chamber pots, last time I checked we have indoor plumping.” She implies, Aora just gives her a disgusting look.

“You're such a meanie.” Over walks Al with the receipt, he looks down at Aora confused by what’s she doing. He gives me my milkshake also.

“She alright?”

“She’s imaging herself as Queen.” I say as I take a sip of my milkshake, it’s taste like heaven and an actual smile is coming across my face.

“If you were Queen, I would flee immediately” She smacks his arm lightly.

“You know what I haven’t filed a complaint here in a long time.” Since Skipper is sitting on the outside, she climbs over the booth and starts screaming rather loudly. “CHRIS, I HAVE A COMPLAINT TO FILE AGAINST YOUR WORKER HERE!” Al chases her around the restaurant as she runs around frantically looking for a Chris.

“That’s Keaorah, eccentric.” I finish drinking my milkshake, god this is so good. I suddenly remember I need to find out where Sasha is so I can talk to her.

“Um Skipper.”

“Yeah.”

“Where would...they keep the prisoners here just asking.” She looks at me weird, but still answers my question.

“She’s in the dungeon, well they’re just regular prisons, it’s inside the pack house on the last floor. Why ask?”

“Just...curious that’s all. I want to know where everything is at so I don’t get lost.”

“Make sense, uh I got to go. My father might be looking for me, doesn’t know that I'm skipping fight class. I hate fighting it’s so barbaric.” She slaps a ten-dollar bill on the table and slings on her jacket. “Nice meeting you.”

“You too bye.” I give her a friendly wave as she heads out the door. Now, I need to go back to the pack house and find some way to sneak downstairs to see Sasha. I know this place is heavily guarded so I’ll have to be creative and improvise.

As I head out the door, Al and Aora are still arguing. She sees me walking out the door.

“Nice to meet you Quinneth, let’s hang out again.” She says out of breath. Al tries to snatch the paper out of her hand, but she moves just in time.

“You too.” I head for the door, on my way to see Sasha.
