"Good evening, everyone. May I have your attention for a moment?" the master of ceremonies (MC) announced, capturing the room's attention. "We are honored to celebrate the 13th birthday of our beloved Ms. Yennefer Amber."
Kai turned his gaze towards the entrance. A young lady with green hair stepped out, gracefully making her way into the room. Her dress was a deep, rich shade of forest green, made from a sleek and smooth fabric that draped beautifully to the floor. It featured a V-neckline and thin spaghetti straps that highlighted her shoulders and collarbone, giving it a delicate and graceful appearance.
'As expected of her,' Kai thought.
Yennefer Amber, a beautiful young lady with green hair, is the daughter of the most renowned alchemist in the human domain. Yennefer's personality is cold and calculating, but she also has a soft and caring side. She is very business-savvy and intelligent. Yennefer is very dedicated, and if she wants something, she will do everything in her power to get it. If others covet what she has, she makes sure to deal with them.
Kai then looked at who was behind her. Jennifer Amber, her mother, is known as the God of Potioneers in the human domain. Although her rank was not that high, Archon's rank, without her, humans wouldn't have survived. With her potions, she saved a lot of people.
Kai then looked beside her. David Amber, Yennefer's father and Jennifer's husband, sat at number 4 on the SH leaderboard, at the transcendent rank. He's also one of the heads of Octagram, the most influential organization in the human domain.
'What a scary family,' Kai thought.
Edwin, who was beside him, spoke. "Look there, Kai, beside Yennefer is my daughter, Dianne Santos, the same age as you," he said proudly.
Hanabi said, "Wow, they're pretty."
"You'll be more beautiful when you grow up, Hanabi," Kai said while patting her head.
"Hehehe." Hanabi laughed cutely with her eyes closed, enjoying her brother's pat.
Dianne Santos, dressed in a blue gown, is the daughter of the wealthiest man in the human domain, Edwin Santos. She liked reading romantic novels and thought that every handsome guy who approached her was hitting on her. Also, she's the protagonist's love interest. Sadly, they never ended up together in the end.
"I'll introduce you to them later. What do you think?" Edwin asked.
"Sure," Kai answered.
As Yennefer walked towards the center of the room, the crowd parted to give her space, their eyes following her every move with admiration. She exuded a calm confidence, her green eyes reflecting the light and adding to her ethereal beauty.
"Look, it's Yennefer Amber and Dianne Santos," many young boys, sons of politicians, businessmen, guild leaders, etc., started chatting upon seeing the two beautiful girls.
After that, the birthday party officially began, filled with speeches from family members and her friend Dianne.
Suddenly, a person with blonde hair stepped onto the stage and took the mic after Dianne finished her comment.
His presence was full of arrogance, earning frowns from the young boys in the crowd.
"Who the hell is this guy?" a young man with dark blue hair muttered.
"For those wondering who I am, I'm just the guy who recently took down an anaconda at elite rank," he said hauntingly, earning glares from everyone.
The crowd buzzed with whispers and murmurs as the blonde-haired boy stood on stage, his smug smile only fueling the irritation of the attendees.
"Who does he think he is?" one of the young boys whispered to his friend.
"Probably trying to show off," another replied, rolling his eyes.
Kai watched the scene unfold with amusement and curiosity.
'How did this guy even survive that?' Kai mused. But rage simmered in his eyes.
Kai was a simple guy: for those who give, he will give a hundred times more, and for those who become his enemy, he will inflict something more terrifying than a demon.
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. This was Kai's creed before. Amplified by his Vampire Progenitor transformation, it had now become something more terrifying if he couldn't control his emotions.
Symon Nuballs, the one who tried to kill him in the cave. And the one he would make suffer so terrifyingly that he would seek death himself.
"Do you guys remember now? Currently, I'm the strongest at my age," Symon said while looking at Yennefer.
The room fell into a tense silence, all eyes on Symon. His arrogance was palpable, and the young boys who had initially whispered about him now glared openly.
Kai's eyes never left Symon, his mind already calculating the best way to approach him. 'You will pay for what you did,' he thought.
Edwin, Elara, and other older guests in the crowd watched with amusement. To them, this was entertaining.
One of the boys scoffed, "So he's just the son of a teacher from the academy."
The other kids laughed, making Symon clench his fists in anger. Before he could retort, the boy with dark blue hair spoke up again.
"Why don't you stop boasting and greet the birthday girl already? There are plenty of others waiting to greet her too," the boy said, matching Symon's arrogance.
Symon's face flushed with anger, but he composed himself and turned to Yennefer. "Happy birthday, Yennefer," he said through gritted teeth, trying to maintain his composure.
Yennefer nodded politely, her expression unreadable. "Thank you, Symon. I appreciate it."
Symon stepped down from the stage, his anger barely contained, and the crowd slowly resumed their conversations.
Kai's gaze shifted to the blue-haired boy.
Elara leaned in and whispered, "The one with blue hair is Atreus Blaze. Behind him is his sister."
Atreus Blaze, the only grandson of the current strongest guild, Blaze Guild. His grandfather, Aiden Blaze, is at divine rank, the second strongest in the SH leaderboard. Atreus has short blue hair, deep red eyes, a muscular jawline, and a well-built body for a 13-year-old. He has an arrogant and cold personality. He only acknowledges those who he believes are strong and at the same level or above him. One of the main characters and the protagonist's rival.
Amelia Blaze, Atreus's older sister, was the youngest ranker to make it onto the SH leaderboard at 450, and she was only 21 years old. A newly awakened Ascendant rank with talent rivalling that of the protagonist. She was the older sister of Atreus and the granddaughter of Aiden Blaze, the second strongest in the human domain.
Kai couldn't help but think, "Now that's my type. If only I were a little older." He shook his head with pity. He knew that Amelia's story was a tragic one, marked by an accident that would change her fate.
"Seeing that their grandfather wasn't with them," Kai remembered something. He then looked at a certain place where a beautiful young lady with blonde hair stood alone with her two bodyguards.
This confirmed Kai's thought. "Looks like that event is near."
Alice Stein, a beautiful young lady with blonde hair, is the daughter of the strongest human in the human domain, Elizabeth Stein, at Divine rank, and also the leader of the most influential organization in the human domain, Octagram. Octagram is the current association overseeing the human domain. Even the biggest guilds fear them and dare not challenge them. Alice is a girl with a stoic personality. She prefers to be alone and tends to say only a few words if possible. She is intelligent and very loyal to her friends and benefactors.
