The man displayed a talent for using his Domain that was far greater than Lokus', because within seconds, he was up and walking around the room as if he had never been blinded at all.

Herbert gave him time to adjust before gently tapping him on the shoulder. "Now that you have been helped, please, leave us."

The man bowed his head and left, but not before raining words of gratitude on Herbert.

When the door finally clicked closed, Herbert's kind exterior abruptly vanished. In its place was a frigid coldness that made Phantom Nova's explosions seem like a joke.

"Tell me," he said venomously. "What vacuous reason did the soldiers have to attack that man?"

"They had an issue with the food prepared by the chef," Lokus told the man. "He was just… in the crossfire."

"So he didn't even draw their ire, and yet suffered in this way? Disgusting."
