Capítulo 2: The Start To The Kalos League
Pokemon: Wandering Soul Chapter 2
Kalos, Lumiose City Pokemon Center
In his room Soul fixed some things he needed to bring for today, with Hunter out of his shadow also helping him prepare. Yesterday, he talked to Nurse Joy to register him in the Pokemon League. She asked why I decided to join, I was about to say it when others shouted things like 'Look! That's the guy who fought Leon!' and a more similar line while 1 person said 'He doesn't look like much.' He challenged him and he swept him with Mimik, my Mimikyu. (I am not good with names, ok).
Let's say, as a bonus, the guy peed himself when Mimik did a huge screech with 10 big Shadow Claws coming out from his body. He even got money from it,
Anyway, today is the day he will challenge the Lumiose City Gym. Nurse Joy says that they only take on people who have earned 4 badges but seeing as he completed the trials in Alola, meant that he was experienced.
Soul heard that new people usually challenge the Gym in Santalune City, seeing as it was "easy" because of the Bug-Typing.
'They haven't seen a Golisopod or Araquanid yet.' Soul thought as he remembered "Ya boy, Guzma.", repeating in his mind.
Soul shook his and focused on the task at hand. He already decided who to use for the Pokemon Battle. (I won't show it yet.)
He took something out of his bag. It was a black Z-ring, a Decidium Z, a Key Stone, and a necklace that had a Froslassite. The Froslassite he got was when he ventured to Mount Lanakila in one of those ice caves. It was actually beside a Glalitite to which he sold at a decent price to a trainer.
Suddenly, his Dusk Ball opened and released light. The light faded then showed a Frosslass named Snow. (I am not good at names…)
Snow twirled and floated right beside Soul. Hunter then hooted and winked at Snow as she looked at him with wide eyes and blush as she covered her mouth with her "hands" as she giggled. Soul just raised an eyebrow as he was curious about what Hunter has said to Snow.
Soul sighed as he looked at them with a smile. They looked like there were having a conversation so Soul just focused on the items that are in his hands. He put the necklace down on the table he was preparing his stuff at. Soul wore the Z-ring on his wrists as he attached the Decidium Z and the Key Stone on it.
(Imagine it has 2 holes, a diamond-shaped hole on top and a circle-shaped one on the bottom.)
He took the necklace and smiled as he called Snow. Hunter and Snow stopped their "mingling" as they looked at their trainer and saw what he was holding. Hunter took a little step back as Snow floated forward. She bowed a bit while Soul proceeded to mount the necklace on her neck.
Soul took a step back as Snow observed the necklace with a smile and floated to Soul and hugged him to which Soul patted her back. It wasn't a warm hug yet it was cold and comfortable at the same time.
She broke the hug as she went to Hunter and hugged him as well, to Hunter's surprise. Hunter hugged her back and Snow giggled as she waved at him with a blush and he replied with a hoot and a wave.
"You want to go back?" Soul said as Snow nodded. He took out her Dusk Ball and proceeded to get sucked in. Soul looked at Hunter with a raised eyebrow to which Hunter answered with a confused look.
"Did something happen between you two?" Soul said making Hunter's eyes widened. Hunter then answered with a hoot that practically said 'None of your business.', and before Soul could ask any more questions, Hunter quickly seeped into his shadow to which Soul smiled in amusement.
Suddenly, Soul's mind began to ache, red eyes were staring at him. He held his head with one hand and grimaced. Hunter quickly manifested in front of Soul to catch him as he tumbled down to Hunter.
"…Thanks, Hunter." He said as the pain in his head slowly faded. Soul was slowly standing upright and eventually stood tall. Hunter patted his trainer on the back as he seeped into his shadow again.
'What was that?' Soul thought remembering the pain in his head but he shook his head and decided to forget it for now and slung his sling bag on his soldier and put his hands on the pockets of his jacket as he walked up and opened the door out of his room.
Slowly, the door closed behind him and closed shut
"…" Soul looked up in awe at Lumiose Tower. 'I wonder what it looks like at night…' He said as he walked into the doors of the Tower.
As soon as he neared the door, it automatically opened and Soul quickly scanned the room and found the place to register.
Soul quickly readied his ID and pen just in case. He went to a guy who wore a "uniform" of some sort. The guy seemed to notice Soul and quickly asked.
"My name is, Adran. Are you here for a Gym Battle, sir?" The guy now named Adran said. Soul nodded and showed him his ID and the guy gave him a form and Soul signed it.
"It looks like you don't have any Gym Badges, sir… but seeing you are from Alola, did you participate in the trials?" Adran said. He has a younger cousin who went to Alola and participated in the Island Challenges also.
Soul nodded and Adran continued.
"I assume you will take the Advanced Course?" Adran said and Soul had a curious look on his face.
"It is a challenge were "experienced" trainers partake. It is available to all trainers who are confident in battling the signature team of the Gym Leader." Adran said and Soul nodded in understanding.
Soul contemplated for about a minute and chose the "Advanced" course to see what it is.
Adran nodded and asked for his ID again and he put a sticker next to his contact number. He gave it back to Soul who looked at the sticker questioningly.
Adran then explained that it is for all those who intend to take the "Advanced" Course.
It seemed somewhat unfair that the "Advanced" course people are put up against the new trainers but hey, it works.
Soul then thanked Adran as he went up to the elevator. It automatically went the battlefield was the Gym Battle would be taking place.
The elevator stopped and opened and Soul saw a battle happening.
"Ampharos, use Dragon Pulse!" A blonde boy with glasses yelled to an Ampharos that had long white hair coming out from his head, A Mega Ampharos to be exact, charged some draconic power in its mouth. The blonde boy had a weird looking arm coming out from his bag.
Ah. Soul recognizes him. He is Clemont, Lumiose City Gym Leader, specializes in Electric types.
"Counter with your own Dragon Pulse, Goodra!" The trainer who was fighting Clemont said to the gooey-looking dragon who quickly charged some draconic energy.
The two beams shot out and formed into dragons as it both collided. Eventually, the Goodra's beam was overpowered by the Mega Ampharos's beam.
"THE WINNER IS, GYM LEADER CLEMONT!" A little blonde girl said as she shouted with glee. There was a screen behind her and Soul saw that the Gym Leader was ahead by 1 Pokemon. Out of the six boxed, 2 of Clemont's glowed while the other 4 were blank
The girl sighed and returned her Goodra and mumbled 'Well done…'. The Mega Ampharos's body flashed a blue light as it turned into a normal Ampharos. Clemont returned the Ampharos to the Pokeball. Clemont and the girl then approached each other they shook hands as the crowd cheered.
'…this will be a problem.' Soul said as he observed the battlefield and crowd.
"Please wait for a few moments for the Gym Leader needs to heal his Pokemon." The crowd then took some food out of their bags.
'Prepared, huh.' Soul thought as he saw them eat their snacks.
Soul then found the place where he was supposed to go and saw that there was no one there meaning it was his turn next.
After a few minutes, he was finally called. Soul went to the battlefield and saw Clemont smiling.
It will be a 3v3 match-up so Soul REALLY needed to choose carefully on this one.
"The battle between the challenger Soul Ecto and Gym Leader Clemont shall now begin!" The little blonde girl said it was his little sister Bonnie, Soul recognized now. The crowd then perked up a bit when they heard Soul's name.
'Hey, isn't he the one who fought the Galar Champion yesterday?' A guy said. 'Yeah! I remember now!' A girl replied.
'The one who fought against Leon, huh?' Clemont thought as he took out Heliolisk's Pokeball and released it.
"Go, Cynder," Soul said as he took out a Luxury Ball and released a floating Lamp. It was Cynder, Soul's Chandelure. It floated on the battlefield as Cynder and Heliolisk looked at each other waiting for their trainer's command.
"Heliolisk, Discharge!" Clemont said as Heliolisk flared its frills and shot out a wave of electricity across the battlefield.
"Fire Spin," Soul said as Cynder was surrounded by an eerie purple flame and eventually was surrounded by it. In the fire, Cynder's flames seemed to burn brighter. It was the ability, Flash Fire.
The wave of electricity hit the flames and dissipated and so did the flames. The flames faded and it showed a clean and healthy Chandelure. It "shocked" Clemont, Heliolisk, and the crowd. How did he do it?
Before Clemont can go for a counter, Soul commanded Cynder to attack.
"Heat Wave and Ominous Wind." Even though Ominous Wind won't affect Heliolisk, it will "boost" the power of the Heat Wave by a little, and with the boost from the Flash Fire added, it would do a lot of damage. Heat Wave is an Egg Move that Cynder got when it hatched from an egg.
A sudden wave of heat came towards Heliolisk as it was pushed back a bit and was hurt badly, it was on its last stand. Clemont was surprised yet again then shook his head to focus on the battle while a loud cheer could be heard in the background.
"Parabolic Charge!" Clemont commanded as Heliolisk flared up its frill again and shot yet another wave electricity. The electricity hit Chandelure but it didn't do much damage. There was a weird orb of light that came from Chandelure and it went into Heliolisk. Heliolisk glowed green and most of his scratched were healed.
'You healed your wounds but that took the last of your energy…' Soul said as he commanded his next move.
"Flame Burst." Cynder then charged up and shot a larger version of Ember as it hit the Heliolisk, defeating it.
"Heliolisk is unable to battle! Gym Leader Clemont chose your next Pokemon." Bonnie said as she was shocked at how easily the challenger beat his Heliolisk
Clemont returned Heliolisk as he chose another Pokemon.
"Go Luxray!" He said as he released the Gleam Eyes Pokemon. Luxray roared and the crowd yelled in excitement.
"Crunch!" Dark energy formed on its fangs as he charged at Cynder at fast speeds.
"Will O Wisp!" Soul quickly said as the Luxray bit at Cynder (I don't know how). Cynder let out a weak grunt as he took the attack, if he was hit with that again, Cynder will surely lose. Then, 5 wisps were formed while the Luxray backed off.
"Dodge it!" Clemont said. Unfortunately, Clemont didn't know that Chandelure made a countermeasure.
The wisp seemed to speed up as it hit Luxray, inflicting the burn status. Cynder used an Ominous Wind boosting the speed of the wisps.
Luxray winced as it was covered by fire. Then the fire faded.
Clemont sighed, he needed to attack quickly.
"Wild Charge!" He commanded as the Luxray was covered by electricity and sed to Cynder who took the attack.
It didn't do much because of the burn halving damage.
Luxray was covered in red sparks as he winced from the minor recoil since it was tired.
"Crunch, quick!" Clemont said as Luxray quickly regained composure and bit into Cynder.
Soul knew Cynder was going to faint so he did a last-ditch move.
"Fire Spin, now," Soul said as the blue eerie flame surrounded both of the Pokemon. The fire faded and showed a fainted Chandelure and Luxray.
"Both Pokemon are unable to battle. Please choose your next Pokemon." Bonnie said.
(Next time, I won't show the "Your Pokemon are unable to battle", "choose your next pokemon".)
"Come, Zephyr/Come on out, Ampharos!" Both trainers said. Then, a floating "lizard" and a yellow figure was shown. Everybody looked at the floating "lizard" with interest.
"He is a Dragapult…" Soul said making Clemont nod but the crowd confused.
Clemont knew this Pokemon, it was one of the Pokemon that the Galar Champion owned.
Actually, this Dragapult and Cynder are "acquainted" in a way. They see themselves as brothers because they both hatched at the same time with Cynder being the calm and collective one and Zephyr being the "too-energetic" one making him the mischievous of the two.
Now that Zephyr is a Dragapult though, he has been more… enthusiastic.
"You take the first move," Clemont said. Soul nodded and decided to take it slow.
"Shadow Ball." A ball of ghost energy formed at Zephyr's mouth and shot towards the Ampharos.
"Thunder Punch!" Clemont said as Ampharos's "hands" balled into a fist and it the Shadow Ball full force. It stopped and was redirected back to a calm looking Soul.
"Phantom Force." Zephyr sunk to the ground making the Shadow Ball miss. Clemont recognized the attack.
"Protect!" A barrier then covered Ampharos and Zephyr hit it and then went back to his former place.
Clemont knew he was going to lose but that didn't stop him from fighting. This fight was the fastest and the most exciting battle yet!
"Ampharos, Mega Evolve!" Clemont put his hands on the key stone as Ampharos was covered in a light. The light then flashed and showed a DNA-like symbol and there stood the Mega Ampharos.
"Dragon Pulse." Ampharos shot a dragon-like beam at Zephyr who countered it with a Shadow Ball.
Then, he did a combination of moves that all Electric types will struggle with when did at the same time.
"Rain Dance, Charge, Thunder!" he yelled. Gray clouds formed and there was a loud bang. Lightning shot out to Zephyr who got hit by the attack since it never misses and it was fast.
Zephyr struggled to get up and his body was covered with sparks and he winces. He got paralyzed.
Soul then looked at Zephyr then the dragon slowly looked at him. They both stared at each other for a second then nodded.
Zephyr slowly floated up covered by sparks but fought through it. The Decidium Z that was at the Z-ring was switched into a Dragonium Z.
Soul let out a breath and put out his arm with the Z-ring. He trained with the Z-power so that he didn't need to dance. Soul put his other hand on the Z-ring and both the crystal and his eyes grew a shade of navy blue.
"Devastating Drake." A huge dragon shot out from behind Zephyr and shot out towards the Mega Ampharos and created a huge dust cloud. Clemont, his little sister, and the crowd gasped. In the dust cloud, a light flashed and appeared a fainted Ampharos.
"A-Ampharos is unable to battle, Soul Ecto is the w-winner," Bonnie said.
Zephyr and the two Dreepy on his head cheered then motioned his trainer to return them so that they can rest. Soul smiled and patted the three and returned them as asked.
Clemont saw their interaction and smiled as he returned his Ampharos and approached Soul with shiny metal.
"I happily give you this Voltage Badge," Clemont said as he gave the badge to Soul who nodded and took the badge.
"Do you mind if I show this to the other Gym Leaders? They may want to be at their best if they want to fight you…" Clemont said to Soul who thought about it and nodded.
"Sure," Soul said as he saw Clemont reach out his hand. He took his hand and did a handshake as the crowd screamed in joy while his little sister smiled at her brother who took the lost without malice.

To those who expect an update schedule, it is still… so-so. I have classes so I have to focus on them and they give TOO many activities to my liking so expect chapters to be a 3-7 day long before they get posted.
As I said, it is my fanfic, so I allowed Clemont to have a Mega Evolution.
Anyway, I wanted the Gym Battles to be hype so I took the "long" battle route but it would get boring and dull if I did 6v6 so I decided on a 3v3.
I also decided to add a pairing being a Pokemon one with HunterXSnow (DecidueyeXFroslass) because it is somewhat fun to write and I can make a "story" out of it.
And for those who know the reason why Soul got the headache, keep reading to see the end of it, lol.
Tell me if there are any complaints (except for the update schedule) about my story and I would gladly read it and reply to it.
