Capítulo 92: Witness Of Innocents!

Elsewhere, on an Island just off the Indigo Plateau coast. A few recognizable and iconic trainers were present and conversing.

The Elite 4 of the Kanto, The Elite 4 and Champion of Johto, and Koga from Fuchsia City.

"No. Not now, I will join the Elite 4 in six months, so for now, I will only be a Gym Leader." Koga humbly declined their offer, for now.

Some of them wondered why six months specifically.

"Hmm, I saw that coming. Since things are changing from this point, I want to focus on Johto. Some candidates here want to succeed as an Elite 4."

Before them were three trainers that came highly recommended by Professor Oak himself.

"I want to hear your thought. Do you wish to stay in the Johto Elite 4, or do you wish to transition to Kanto? This is the same for those as the Kanto Elites, and wanting to swap to another location."

Lance was clear.

"My place is in Kanto and nowhere else." Lorelei shook her head and declined.

"I'll go to Johto." Bruno nodded.

Afterward, no one said anything. This meant that they wanted to stay right where they were.

"A member of the Elite 4 just stepped down recently to retire in Johto. Another is going to retire soon as well, so that spot will need to be filled later. So a spot needs to be filled for his position, which of you guys are up for it?"

Lance turned to recommended trainers by Oak.

"Hmm, I will. I was born in Johto anyway, so it's the best place for me." The man removed his cloak ad revealed himself.

"Ah, I know you, you're Will, right? I've seen you win plenty of tournaments, it looks like Oak's recommendations are top-notch.

Lance asked about his specialty, and Will said he was a Psychic Pokemon specialist.

The next trainers had no choice but to be stationed in Kanto as Elite 4 members.

A woman came forth, she was a person that was going to be a part of the Elite 4 for Kanto.

She had blonde hair with light pink dye at the bottom tip of her hair. If Gan saw her, he'd say her hair reminded him of a Pidgeot—along with the type of hat and hair she had. She wore small librarian glasses with a long dark orange and light orange skirt.

"My name is Aeriella and I specialize in Flying-type Pokemon, they're my favorite," Aeriella said seriously.

"My name is Darwin and I specialize in Ground-type Pokemon," Darwin said expressionlessly. He

"Perfect, you guys will be taking my place as well as Bruno's place. Darwin, you'll be taking my place and Aeriella will be taking Bruno's position."

"Sounds good to me." Darwin nodded with a smile. The amount of money he could make as an Elite 4 member was attractive.

"Wow, I finally get to put my skills to the real test. For now, I'll just do some training and wait." Aeriella already knew that the League would soon have an influx of trainers this year.

"Perfect! I will show you guys how to manage the League. Let's go." Lance stood up from his chair and signaled Darwin and Aeriella to follow him.

Gan slept for the longest he had slept since he had entered this world. He had awakened at 9 am in the morning before getting himself ready. By this point, he was well-rested and fully energized for his new destination.

He had trouble sleeping at the Roseworth residence due to his appointment at the auction. It could be considered a big burden lifted off of his shoulders.

Gan did his morning workout after eating breakfast with his Pokemon. He made sure to give Growlithe her medicine before taking a shower. Afterward, he was up and out of the door—ready to hopefully leave this city.

"Hmm..." Gan scanned the streets and found that their very few people roaming about. Of course, this was a good thing for him.

Gan easily and quickly made it to the north exit for Viridian Forest. However, as to be expected, the exit was blocked by several officers.

Some rode on Rapidash, while some had Growlithes and Arcanine with them. Some were yawning while others appeared to be drinking coffee, perhaps.

"Hey, hold it right there." As Gan expected. Once he was close enough, he was stopped by a few officers.

"We're not allowing anyone to pass through here until further notice, so please turn back." The officers said lazily, he looked like he could use some sleep.

"I'm looking to leave because I need to continue my adventure to the next Gym Leader." Gan used the old fashion league excuse.

"A trainer, huh? Let me see your ID." The officer next to the lazy man said.

Gan already had his ID ready and gave it to the officer.

"Wow, you already have a badge at that. This is pretty good, but as I normally should let you through—I can't. Everyone in the city is a suspect, except the bounty hunters that just arrived at the city."

The officer simply grinned before handing Gan back his ID.

"What? Are you saying I can't go through despite having my ID as a League Challenger?" For the first time, this strategy didn't work.

"That's correct. Not until we have everything under wraps, we aren't to allowed to let anyone through. Of course, if you can give concrete evidence that you weren't involved, then we can let you through."

The officer looked mockingly at Gan. Usually, these Challengers could get out of these situations, but this time—their ID's held no weight.

Gan was stunned, just how influential was Professor Oak? Wasn't this a little too much? Not even his ID held any power here, this was especially so with him having one badge.

"How long will it be before anyone is free to leave and go?" Gan didn't want to stay here, if he had to; he would sneak his way out.

"Who knows? It could be days, weeks, months, or even a year." The officer squinted as his gaze locked onto Gan to see his reaction.

Gan's expression darkened. They couldn't make him stay here, he would have to sneak out then!

Seeing Gan's reaction, the officer was secretly happy. He had dealt with trainers challenging the league before, and they were too arrogant.

He finally felt control and power over the situation—they gave these trainers a little too much power.

"Hehe, you can go now. Have a nice and enjoy the scenery in Viridian, it's a beautiful city." His tone was filled with obvious jeers.

Gan turned to leave, but right as he was doing so, he heard a voice.

"Hold on a minute." A man on a Rapidash galloped over on its back. By his side was a muscular man, to which, Gan recognized both.

"What the... it's the brat from route 3! Kid, you're not starting trouble again, are you?!" The man's name was Aaron, the 'knuckle-headed' officer from before.

"Starting trouble? When did I ever do that?" Gan was speechless, this guy was a first-class idiot.

"Aaron, shut up!" Rapidash rider glared at Aaron before turning to Gan. "We meet again, it seems you want to leave the city to continue your journey, finally."

"Yes, but I'm being denied entry and access to Viridian forest by these officers here." Gan turn to the trio and said.

This man is cleared and I grant him access to Viridian in order to exit the city." The man declared, waving his arm.

"What? Sir, we're not allowed to let anyone through until further notice. This is, of course, if he's able to prove he had nothing to do with the crime!"

"That's right, even if he's a trainer Challenging the league he isn't allowed through!" Another officer from the trio said urgently.

"Quiet! He does have proof. We're his proof, we're his witnesses. While this was going down, he was camping on route 3 during this time. He wasn't even in the city, so how could he have anything to do with it?"

Captain Chase explained that he was also a trainer who was challenging the league. Along with him being a Challenger of the league, having a badge, and not being in the city when things were in lockdown mode; they had no choice.

"This..."

"..."

"Is it really like that?" Another officer inquired.

"Yep! He's the kid from route 3, I saw him coming from there a few days ago. We stopped him and questioned him back then." Aaron said nonchalantly.

"There you have it. Aaron even said it when he first walked up to the kid. Since he has proof of this, he's free to leave." Chase glared at the trio, who could only turn away silently.

Once they turned to Gan, they saw him giving them a victorious wide smile. However, they could clearly see the disdain in his eyes when looking at them.

'You little bastard!'

'This kid is too arrogant!'

'These league-challenging kids are too much!'

They were red with fury and embarrassment, but they didn't dare expression openly.

"I felt so aggrieved, I thought I was being seen as a criminal. I worked so hard and was demoralized by the gym leader, but was denied the ability to fight her when I gained the confidence."

Gan's expression looked as if had been wronged. His shoulder fell and was lowered as if his confidence had been crushed.

The trio of officers' eyes widened.

"You three, apologized to this hard-working trainer! This league already lacks a champion, he could be the future of this region! To demoralize a young and upcoming trainer could warrant a penalty."

The trio shivered in fear and looked at Gan, who looked depressed.

"We're sorry!" They hurriedly bowed and said in unison.

"Huh? Did you say something? If so, I can't hear you." Gan looked over at the trio who were doing deep bows.

"What?"

"Huh?"

"This"

They looked up at Gan a saw him staring down at them. It seemed to look like both his eyes were glowing with radiant red and blue light.

They finally understood what Gan was doing, he was messing with them! The officers could hear the laughter near the barricade where the other officers were.

They gritted their teeth in anger and hate.

"We're sorry!" They once again said in unison.

"Oh, I suddenly feel better now. Thank you for being such considerate men of the law. I hope you find the bastard who would commit such heinous crimes." Gan smiled with kindness at three.

They truly wish they could capture Gan as a suspect and throw him in jail. There, they could interrogate and torture him to their heart's content.

"Haha, right this way. Gan... was it?" Chase asked.

"That's me." Gan nodded.

Chase guided Gan through the barricade filled with officers and Pokemon. Afterward, he made it to Viridian Forest under Chase's guidance.

"There you go, kid. I hope you can defeat Misty and continue your journey throughout the region." Chase gave Gan a few encouraging words.

"Oh, for sure. I was never the type to give up so easily." After talking for a bit more, Gan was on his way.

The Rangers recognized Gan by this point, he was a person they saw all too often in these parts. Chase was stunned, and he was even more assured that Gan had nothing to do with this situation.

It wasn't like he suspected him anyway.

Once he was pass the checkpoint, Gan smiled while staring off into the all but too-familiar forest.

"It's time to train."
