"Where's the Tesseract?" Archer grimly asked as he stared at Aizen.
"I don't have it." He replied calmly.
The frown on the teal-haired man's face deepened when his Alakazam informed him that the Orayen was not lying.
Seven Helicopter Gun Ships were buzzing in the air right above the clearing, and the weapons were loaded and directed at Aizen and his group. There were two more Transport Helicopters, and they were a safe distance away, behind the line of the Gun Ships.
Team Rocket had come prepared for him, as dozens of Pokemon were out, and even more guns were pointed their way. However, the presence of Sabrina proved fatal to all their plans.
Archer was hesitating to initiate the attack after seeing the line-up of Pokemon Sabrina, Aizen, Misty, and Leaf had called out without a warning. It was all thanks to Gengar informing them about the ambush awaiting them a minute before it happened.
Mega Alakazam, Dragonite, Regice, Delphox, Ampharos, Archeops, Hydreigon, Mega Metagross, Mega Salamance, Mega Pidgeot, Gyarados, Golduck, Jolteon, Magnezone, and Exeggutor were up against an army of Fearow, Golbat, Crobat, Weezing, Hypno, and Dugtrio. Even after being at a numerical disadvantage, they were still the superior line-up, and the result of the battle was obvious to everyone.
Archer was even hesitating to call out his Pokémon as he had still not recovered from the loss of his Tyrantrum at Aizen's hands. He wanted nothing more than to kill the violet-eyed boy, but today was not the day.
He suppressed the burning rage in his heart and asked another question.
"Who has it then?"
"I fell unconscious after you escaped that day. When I woke up, Tesseract was not there." He replied, spinning the truth, and not giving any details that could be detected as a lie by Archer's Alakazam. If he wanted to, he could have stopped Alakazam from seeing through him, but he wanted to stall time and make Team Rocket believe that he did not have Tesseract.
The Orayen Prince had already sent the distress signal to Bill, and they were going to come here any minute now. He knew that if they fought, their line-up was going to win, but putting the girls in unnecessary harm was not wise.
Team Rocket was using the line-up of a few Alakazam and an Anti-Teleportation device to prevent them from Teleporting away. Because of this, he could not get the girls away from this place without taking some risks. And their reinforcements could not directly teleport to this place as well.
The silence that followed after his reply was excruciating. Archer was not in his right mind or he would have thought of the possibility of Aizen swindling the truth, but now, he was worried about what Giovanni would do to him after another failure. A terrible thought crossed his mind, whispering darkly in his heart, to give the command to attack, but luckily for everyone, he had not lost his mind completely.
"Retreat!" He ordered.
The goons of Team Rocket signalled to their Pokemon, and a new formation was formed.
Archer turned his back to Aizen and walked away to where the Passenger Helicopter had landed for him.
[Are we going to let him go?] Sabrina indifferently asked.
The Prince looked at his watch and saw a green light blinking on it, which meant that Joseph and Bill were close by.
[He won't get away. Standby for now.] He replied to her and then commanded Dexter. [The moment the Warding Device switches off, teleport Anira, Leaf, and Misty to Cerise Laboratory.]
Several things happened after Archer boarded the Helicopter and it took off. The Warding Device that was in effect suddenly stopped working, and Dexter did as commanded.
The disappearance of the three girls and Mega Metagross alarmed Team Rocket, but the line-up of the menacing Pokemon kept them from attacking.
The Passenger Helicopter carrying Archer was gaining height when it stilled in the air and its blades stopped spinning. And then Chaos erupted.
A powerful Psychic Wave washed over the area, and all the Pokemon in the vicinity started falling to the ground, unconscious. Aizen and Sabrina used their Powers to counter it and managed to weaken the attack enough for their Pokemon to bear it and survive.
Joseph, Bill, and Lance teleported right next to Aizen and Sabrina, and at the same time, several people in black cloaks and masks appeared as well. And then there was a figure floating in the air, covered in a white cloak, right next to the Passenger Helicopter of Archer.
Everyone's heart tightened at the sheer Psychic Power the figure possessed. All their Pokemon were agitated at its presence, and bells of crisis were ringing loudly in their minds. And what was scary was the control the figure had over its Powers. It had only attacked Pokemon intending to make them lose consciousness, but no human in the vicinity had been affected by it.
"Dexter can't teleport back here." Aizen lowly said after sensing the distress of his Mega Metagross, who was trying to teleport back to his side.
"Meta..." Joseph's Mega Metagross informed them that it was unable to Teleport them away as well.
"How can a person have such a strong Psychic Focus?" Bill apprehensively asked. They were sure that, somehow, the figure in the air was responsible for erecting wards that prevented Teleportation.
Aizen narrowed his eyes at the figure. He could see that it was a human body inside the cloak, but his instincts were telling him otherwise.
"He's not human." He grimly said.
"What?" Lance surprisedly looked at him and then back at the figure floating in the air.
"It's a very powerful Pokemon capable of Transmutation." He explained.
"Are you sure?" Joseph seriously asked.
"Yes."
Right after he nodded, they watched in horror as the Helicopter was dismantled by sheer Psychic Power. The pilots dropped lifelessly to the ground, breaking their bones. And then a horrified and struggling Archer was pulled towards the figure.
They could not hear what the figure said to Archer before he fainted. However, the teal-haired man seemed to have heard a death sentence by how fear-stricken his eyes were after the figure leaned in to whisper something near his ear.
Seeing their Commander lifelessly floating by the side of the white figure, Team Rocket lost their morale. But the worst was yet to come for them.
The figure in the air indifferently looked at the goons of Team Rocket, and then its eyes glowed in an ominous violet light.
Ear-piercing screams of the goons echoed in the surroundings, and to the horror of the members of the Action Team, the criminals started falling to the ground, dead, with their brains fried out.
"Alpherd." Joseph could not keep watching and commanded his Mega Metagross.
"Meta..."
The powerful Metagross shot a Flash Cannon at the white figure, who erected a Light Screen, and then dispersed the attack by using Psychic.
Lance and Bill did not stay back and commanded their Mega Alakazan and Mega Charizard X to attack too.
Aizen and Sabrina allowed their Megas and Regice to join the battle as well, but the other Pokemon were commanded to contain the Pokemon of the people in Black Cloaks.
At some point, after their Pokemon ganged up on the figure in White Cloak, Dexter managed to Teleport back to Aizen's side, and then joined in the battle as well, making it harder for the enemy.
The battle that ensued continued for nearly half an hour, and the devastation that resulted from it was heart-wrenching.
In the end, the seven Mega Pokemon and Regice managed to make the white figure retreat but failed to capture it.
[Humans, you will pay for interfering in my matters.]
A voice sounded out in all their minds before it Teleported away with the people who had come together with it. Even the ones Aizen, Sabrina, and Bill had managed to capture were saved and taken away by it.
The five of them remained silent for several minutes as they stared at the dead bodies of the members of Team Rocket. There were only two goons that they managed to save, but their minds were damaged, and they could only spend the rest of their life in a mental asylum.
"What is that thing?" Bill looked Aizen in the eyes and asked for an answer.
"If my guess is right. That was Mewtwo." Aizen furrowed his brows and answered. "But I don't know what he is doing with Team Doom."
"Mewtwo?" Joseph frowned at the name.
"He can be counted among the Empyrean Legendaries," Aizen informed him of the gravity of the situation. "Team Rocket is involved with him, and from what we can see, he has a vendetta against them."
All Legendaries considered Empyrean were created by Arceus himself. They were one of a kind, and they were immensely strong. Stronger than the Noble Legendaries such as Lugia and Ho-Oh. And the presence of such a being in Team Doom was not good news for them.
"Why would he associate with Team Doom?" Bill's mind was racing in worry.
No one had an answer to his question.
"Things are getting out of hand." Lance sighed and commented. "Yesterday we had to deal with Dr. Yung and his madness, and now this."
"Dr. Yung? The one that owns the Mirage Mansion?" Aizen raised his brow and asked.
"Mhm." Lance nodded. "He created a system capable of making android Pokemon that could be considered clones. Apparently, he is obsessed with creating perfect Pokémon without any Weaknesses, and those androids can use attacks of all Types. He was planning on inviting Researchers to his Mansion, and then forcing them to hand over all their data on Pokemon to perfect his system. Luckily, his assistant contacted us and informed us of his plan."
"Did you capture him?"
"The one we caught was an android. We don't know where he is." Lance regretfully said.
"I will send you the details later." Seeing Aizen's interest in the case, Joseph smiled and said.
"We have to check on the girls at Cerise Laboratory. Excuse us." Aizen nodded in thanks to Joseph and then informed them.
Joseph allowed him and Sabrina to leave. And the two of them recalled their Pokemon before Teleporting together with Misty and Leaf's Pokemon to the Cerise Laboratory.
