Aizen and the girls stayed at the Fennel Valley Pokemon Center for three more days. Misty had declared that she was not in the mood of camping outside for another day, and the girls agreed with her.
Since Aizen and Leaf had a Gym Battle in Silver Town, they decided to use the training facilities at the Center to train their Pokemon. The Silver Gym was a Normal-Type Gym, and Aizen substituted Golbat for Machoke on his roster.
In these three days, both Aizen and Leaf focused on the Pokemon they were going to use in the Silver Gym. And other than that, Aizen made Leaf's life a hell by giving her nightly assignments to work on as his assistant.
The poor girl had to read through dozens of research works every night, but thankfully, Anira was always there to help her with the work.
The evening before the day of departure, Nurse Joy came to their suite and informed them of the proceedings of Ryan's case and that his Pokemon were going to be sent to Celadon University Reserve.
The boy was sent to prison for 25 years. And most of his Pokémon were going to stay at the Celadon University Reserve, under observation for several months. The decision was reached because many of the Pokémon were involved in the vile acts their Trainer committed. They had to be monitored for any harmful behaviour they must have picked up before they could be handed out to other Trainers or sent in the wild. And for the young Pokémon like Deerling, they arranged for them to be sent to their respective reserves in their native regions after staying under observation for a few weeks.
The hazel-eyed girl was quite smitten with the Deerling and wanted it, and perhaps she was expecting that they would allow her to keep it. Her mood had been low since she heard that the Deerling would be sent back to Unova. She understood that it was for the best, but it did not lighten up her mood.
After an entire day of journeying, the gang made it to Silver Town an hour after sunset.
"What are you looking at?" Misty curiously asked when she saw Aizen holding a pamphlet at their dinner table.
Aizen closed the pamphlet and smiled at her.
"Up for an adventure?" He brightly smiled.
"Of course!" Misty smirked back at him and replied.
Anira was lightly smiling, and Leaf perked up her ears as well.
Aizen handed the pamphlet to the Hazel-eyed girl before informing them what adventure he was talking about.
"There's a boat leaving for Sayda Island the day after tomorrow." He informed them. "Sayda Laboratory and Fossil Research Facility are officially opening to the Public. Professor Dora and Professor Jared are inviting Pokemon Trainers to a three-day Fossil Hunt in the Oldstone Canyon on the Island."
"They can revive ancient Pokemon from Fossils?!" Leaf cried out in shock when she read that part in the pamphlet.
"Yes." Aizen chuckled when she saw Leaf's mood brighten up with a new interest. "This Research has been in the works for a few decades. The first successful revival took place 273 years ago, and the technology has only now been perfected with a success rate of revival reaching the 90% mark."
"Not 100%?" Leaf frowned.
"Of course not." He shook his head. "Every Technology has its limits, and with a success rate of over 90%, it is as perfect as it can get. Not all Fossils can be revived. However, Fossilized Eggs can now be revived with a 100% success rate. And that is a landmark achievement in the history of Science and Technology."
"There are Fossilized Eggs in the Canyon?" Misty hopefully asked as she saw the pictures of all the ancient Pokemon that had been successfully revived in the last few decades.
The Orange-haired girl and the Hazel-eyed girl were intently looking at the image of an Amaura.
"Amaura is not found in Kanto Region." Aizen chuckled at their deflated expression at his words. "But you could still get lucky." He cheered them up but they were no longer as excited. "And as for your question, who knows? Fossilized Eggs are very rare, and are way harder to find than other Fossils."
Leaf then read up another bit of information that made her frown.
"They won't allow us to keep all the Fossils we find..."
"Yes." Aizen nodded his head. "The rules are that each Trainer can only keep up to two Pokemon of the same species from the Hunt. If you find more Fossils of the same species, you will be paid for each of them."
"Where would those revived Pokemon go?" She curiously asked.
"They will be sent to the new Reserves that are being built for them. Some would go to the sponsors of the event, which include Devon Corporation and Silph Corporation, and some would be left to inhibit Sayda Island." Aizen informed her with a smile. "So, are you guys up for it?" He asked again.
"Hell yes!" Misty pumped her fist in the air.
"We will find some cool Pokemon!" Leaf excitedly grinned.
"Alright. I will go book our seats on the boat and register us for tomorrow's Gym Battle." He finished his Dinner and left the table.
Nurse Joy happily helped him with the procedure and handed him back his Pokemon that he had left with her for a check-up and evaluation.
He called out Rinko, and the Silver fox excitedly jumped on his shoulder and licked him all over the face.
Their interaction brought a bright smile on the face of Joy, and some Trainers around them could not help but smile as well.
"Excuse me..." A low voice called out from behind him, surprising the Orayen Prince with how devoid of emotion it was.
When he turned around, his eyes beheld a beautiful girl that even managed to make his heart skip a beat. Her pin-straight raven hair and pink eyes, which were the traits of an Arcane Family, formed a beautiful contrast that entranced him. But Aizen knew that it was not just her beauty that attracted him to her. He could sense the dangerously powerful Psychic Focus of the girl, and for some reason, she felt familiar to him.
"My Apologies." He lightly smiled at her and made way for her to reach the desk.
"Sabrina Moonheart." The girl gave her name to Joy to book her seat on the boat to Sayda Island.
To say that Aizen was surprised that it was her would have been an understatement. He had heard her name before and even saw her matches in the Vertress Conference that she won five years ago. But this was the first time Aizen was seeing her without the half-mask that she used to wear during her matches.
Moonheart were an Arcane Family of Psychic Powers that fought against the Aura Guardians of the Rota Kingdom, nearly perishing in the war. And then they went into seclusion.
Sabrina was the first in decades to come out and use the name officially. The Order had approached her to take her family seat at the High Table, but she had refused and disappeared after her win at the Vertress Conference. And surprisingly, she seemed to not have aged a day in these five years. She still looked 17 years old.
The raven-haired girl seemed to have sensed his gaze and turned to look at him in the eyes. And Aizen felt his heart constrict when he saw not a trace of any emotion in them. A terrible thought crossed his mind, and the smile on his lips strained.
[You gave up on your emotions...] He telepathically whispered.
[I needed to become strong.] There was no hint of surprise or shock in her expressions at his words or the revelation that he too was a Psychic. She was not even bothered by the fact that he was strong enough to create a Telepathic-Link without her permission.
[Why?] He subconsciously asked.
[To protect.] She simply answered and walked right past him, ending their Psychic-Link and pulling up her shields.
I changed the name of 'Grampa Canyon' to Oldstone Canyon, and it is situated on Sayda Island unlike on the Kanto mainland in the anime.
Sabrina is not the Saffron City Gym Leader in this story. Her background has been changed but she still has problems with her emotions. Her hair and eye color are the same as in the games.

"Are you waiting for someone?" Anira asked from behind him.
Aizen nodded to her with a light smile.
"Is that the one that has been occupying your mind since the previous night?"
"Yes."
"A girl?" She curiously asked.
Aizen chuckled at her words and nodded again.
"Yes. She is a beautiful girl." His words brought a smirk to her face.
Anira approached him and stood by his side, leaning on the railing, looking over all the Trainers that were gathered on the deck below them.
"Who's the lucky girl that has managed to hook you with her looks?" She mischievously asked.
"It's not just her looks." He winked at her and she she stuck her a tongue back at him. "Well, take a guess. She has raven hair and pink eyes, and she's a Vertress Conference Winner."
Anira's eyes widened at his words. She knew exactly who her brother was talking about.
"The Moonheart girl..." She whispered.
The Orayen Princess knew her brother better than anyone. She knew that no girl could simply hook his mind with her looks, and he had just jokingly admitted that it was more than just looks that have got the Moonheart occupying his mind. She could also sense that Aizen was worried about something.
"Is there something wrong with her?" Now she took a guess and seriously asked him.
"A Psychic who gave up on her emotions..." Aizen sighed and answered.
"How strong is she?" Anira narrowed her eyes.
"In raw power of the Psychic Focus, she is stronger than me. But she lacks in finesse and efficiency." He informed her.
Anira could discern from his voice that he did not consider her as someone dangerous. He felt sad for her, and at the same time, he felt attracted to her.
"Are you going to help her?" She turned her face to look at him and asked.
Aizen remained silent at her question, his eyes still unfocused as he stared at the port, and his silence was her answer.
The Orayen Princess returned her eyes to the deck and smiled when she saw Leaf and Misty happily chatting with the hazel-eyed girl's classmates.
It was the day they were leaving for Sayda Island. Yesterday's Gym Battle went smoothly for both Aizen and Leaf, and they managed to win their Fourth Badge, the Silver Badge.
Aizen didn't even need to use other Pokémon as Wartortle won him both rounds. Leaf used her Flabebe and Weepinbell against an Eevee and Persian, winning both rounds of her match. They then spent the rest of the day shopping and preparing for today's journey. And now they were here, quarter to six in the morning, ready for the day.
The hazel-eyed girl found her classmates Gary and Ritchie on the boat when they arrived, and she had been enthusiastically chatting with them ever since. She got along with them just fine and told them all about their adventures so far.
Ritchie was an amiable, respectful, and happy-natured boy. He loved talking, but never pried into personal matters, and was genuinely excited to see his classmates on the boat. He happily informed them about his journey so far.
Just like Leaf, he had managed to win four badges thus far and did not seem to be in a rush to go to the next Gym. One thing Aizen and the girls learned within a few minutes of meeting him was that the Auburn-haired boy loved travelling. He was crazy about exploring new places, and his excitement about exploring Sayda Island was burning brightly in his sparkling blue eyes.
Gary Oak was less expressive than Ritchie, but he was excited to meet his classmates as well. He just had a different way of showing it. He introduced them to all the Pokémon he had on him and informed them how and where he caught them. His Starter was already a strong Wartortle, which was impressive. And then there was the fact that he had already won six Gym Badges.
Right now, he was on a break to travel and train his Pokemon before focusing again on the Gym Circuit. One thing that they learned about Gary from their interaction was that he was very serious about raising his Pokemon, focusing on making them strong, not compromising on their health, and keeping them in the best shape possible.
Leaf's Pichu liked the company of Ritchie's Pikachu. And the two Pokemon were playing on one side with Flabebe and Rinko. Their antics brightened the smile on Anira's face, and soon she was giggling when she watched Flabebe hit everyone with a light Fairy Wind in retaliation to the Thunder Wave of Pichu.
"She's here." Aizen lightly spoke.
Anira looked at the port and watched the tall raven-haired girl step onto the deck of their boat after showing her License to the Guards.
Sabrina attracted a lot of curious eyes when she arrived, but her aloofness kept people away from approaching her. After a good few minutes of staying on the lower deck, she climbed the stairs to the upper deck and approached the siblings.
Anira couldn't help but giggle when the Moonheart just silently came to stand by their side, not making any talk and turned to look at the port the same way Aizen had been doing before she arrived here. It was quite funny to her, but Aizen suppressed his chuckle that was prompted by his little sister's giggling.
"Good Morning!" Anira happily greeted her. "I am Anira, Aizen's little sister." She introduced herself.
"Sabrina." The girl with pink eyes looked at her and nodded with a desolate smile.
"My brother is smitten with you, you know? You have been on his mind since you last met." She suppressed her giggles and informed the raven-haired girl, which earned her a playful glare from her brother.
Sabrina turned to look at Aizen and kept looking at him for a while. The silence lingered between them, and just when Aizen was about to change the subject, the raven-haired girl said something unexpected.
"If I have children with you, they will be beautiful and strong. You are the best candidate for marriage."
Her words froze the siblings and turned their minds blank. They comically looked at her with wide eyes, which made her raise her brow quizzically at them.
"Did I say something wrong?" She asked.
Her question brought them out of their trance and Aizen cleared his throat before managing to smile again. Had she been another girl, he might have either excused himself or teased her, but Sabrina was a different case.
"What brought that idea?" He seriously asked.
"I am the last Moonheart, and I have to continue my family legacy." She simply said.
"What happened to your family?" Anira sounded worried.
"My Father was the last Moonheart before me. According to what he told me, the numbers of the Family dwindled after the war, and some deserted the Family. Their legacies are no longer eligible to bear the Moonheart name since they have lost their traits and powers. Only one line remained. My parents were murdered when I was eleven, and now it is only me."
The voice was devoid of any emotion when she spoke of what happened to her parents. It ached the hearts of the siblings and they remained silent for a while.
"So you are looking for a husband?" He raised his brow to which she shook her head.
"I am not. Since you are smitten with me as your sister has said, I won't need to look for anyone else in the future either."
Aizen could not bring himself to say that he was not exactly smitten with her and that Anira was only joking. And then the discussion turned even more serious when Anira spoke her next words.
"You do realise that by marrying him, Moonheart will become a branch Family to the Orayen, right?" The princess looked her in the eyes and asked.
"I know that." She nodded her head.
"And you are fine with it?"
"What is important is that my legacy remains strong and does not lose our Psychic Powers. My Family has no Authority anymore, and we can't return to the Kingdom that once betrayed us. With me marrying him, Moonheart Family will be officially affiliated with your Kingdom. Your Family's influence at the High Table will rise, and my children will get some Authority in return. By becoming a branch family to a Royal Family, we will still be considered an Arcane Family. And most importantly, my Family's name will live on."
"It would still live on if you take a consort." Anira pointed out, but she couldn't refute the other points Sabrina had raised.
"It is still the best option I have." The raven-haired girl indifferently said.
The bluntness of their conversation made Aizen sweat. He could see that Anira approved of Sabrina, and it just made him more restless. Thankfully, a certain Orange-haired girl came to his rescue.
"Hey!" The three of them turned around and saw Misty approach them with a bright smile. She curiously looked at Sabrina before drawing her hand forward to her. "I am Misty! Anira and Aizen's friend." She introduced herself.
"Sabrina." The Raven-haired girl shook her hand.
Her emotionless voice unnerved her a little, but she managed to retain her smile and looked at the siblings.
"What were you talking about?"
"We were talking about my marriage with Aizen." The raven-haired girl answered before Aizen or Anira could say something.
"W-what?" She subconsciously uttered the question before her mouth dropped open and her eyes widened in disbelief.
