Capítulo 34: Chapter 34

Leon headed to Viridian City and its forest almost every after class to train his pokemon and at the same time farm for resources when he didn't have any plans with Mark and Woody. He already sold more than a hundred A rank potential pokemon in the black market and gained the moniker "Jester", since he always wears a jester's mask whenever he goes to the black market. The elderly woman didn't try to track him anymore. She thought that whoever is backing this boy shouldn't be messed with. Selling A rank potential pokemon like it was nothing scared her. She would rather have them as her allies.

Today was another boring class for Leon. He would usually use the Training Simulator app on days like this and would train in his mindscape while sitting in class. His pokemon can also access the Training Simulator while inside the pokeball so they could always train.

An academic year in this world has a total of 8-10 months and the finals were scheduled next week. Alexa informed them that they would have to battle in teams. First, the class would have an elimination round and would battle against each other. The winning team would represent the class and all of the twelve class representatives would fight it out, tournament style, until the 1st year Champions would be crowned.

When Alexa explained the rest of the rules, Leon chuckled inwardly. "Although the number of pokemon involved and some of the mechanics were different, the rules or gameplay had a resemblance with the game 'Pokemon Unite' that existed on earth."

Two teams were to battle each other and each trainer could only use two pokemon throughout the whole battle. If their pokemon faints, then it's out of the game. They would only be able to use those two pokemon for the entire tournament. The trainers would stay in a command tower, wherein, they had an aerial view on the battlefield. Pokemon trainers were able to share their senses with their pokemon even from vast distances and were able to communicate with them if their Soul Bounds were strong enough. For those who still had weak Soul Bounds, the academy badge acts like an amplifier and strengthens their Soul Bound to the point where they are able to communicate and share senses in a limited range. The command tower is designed to amplify this ability so that it could cover the entire field.

Each teams' pokemon would be sent to the battlefield. It is shaped like a large oval field, around two hectares. Each ends of the field is where the pokemon would start and each side had a total of three goals that they needed to protect. One near where they started and the other two were stationed far ahead of them near the edges forming a triangle-like formation. There was a path that connected the six goals on the outer side of the battlefield, so you could see the opposing team's goals and a lush jungle was located in the middle of it all.

The objective was, whoever had more goals standing and had more points by the end of the 10-minute duration would win. The goal was shaped like a huge, flat circle on the ground which they had to protect. In order to destroy the goal, they had to collect 100 points in total inside and score it in the goal by standing within it for 15 seconds undisturbed. They could gradually score until it reached 100 points to destroy the goal. If they were pushed out before the score timer ends, then the timer would reset and they would not be able to score. No using of dig to hide underground and the pokemon has to be within 5 meters above the goal to score, so no flying really high to score.

The Jungle had a number of realistic holograms of pokemon which they had to eliminate to collect points and they spawn every minute. It would be a total of about 10-point each side per minute. Every three minutes, a group of pokemon worth a total of 30 points would be spawned at the middle of each opposing team goals and each side had to fight for it. At the last minute, a hologram of a legendary pokemon would be spawned in the middle of the forest and was worth 100 points to whoever gets the last hit. The points are useless if you don't score them.

This should be fun, Leon thought.

Alexa told them that they had three days to prepare for the class exam and two days to prepare for the batch tournament after. She said that even if the trainers and their pokemon would lose, they should not take it to heart and strive on improving. No one really failed in the pokemon academy unless they were not respectful to pokemon and were bad teammates. Winning would only increase their overall rankings and give them a higher chance to receiving a Monarch or a Pseudo-Legendary pokemon when they graduate which ignited their fighting spirits.
