Ace stretched his arms as he exited the Pokémon Center near Mount Moon, feeling refreshed after a good night's rest. "Alright, guys," he said, patting the Pokéballs on his belt, "Pewter City is next on our list. Brock's gym won't know what hit it!"
With a quick trip to the PokéMart to restock supplies, Ace headed out. The path to Pewter City was quiet, with the sounds of nature filling the air. The morning sun lit the trail, and Ace felt invigorated, ready to tackle the day.
He glanced at Clefairy, who had become the cornerstone of his training regime. "Alright, Clefairy, you know the drill. Start with Gravity."
Clefairy nodded, her pink body glowing faintly as she activated the move. A sudden weight pressed down on Ace and his team. He gritted his teeth as he felt the strain on his body. "Man, this never gets easier," Ace muttered. "But it's worth it."
His Pokémon were already hard at work under the increased gravity. Elekid pushed itself to run faster despite the resistance, sweat dripping from its face. Mankey was practicing punches on a tree, its fists glowing faintly as it attempted to concentrate energy for Mega Punch. Staryu spun wildly, practicing Rapid Spin and improving its accuracy with Water Gun. Smeargle was busy dodging imaginary attacks while copying Elekid's Thunder Shock, the sparks from its tail lighting up the air.
Clefairy stood to the side, watching carefully. Whenever one of the Pokémon faltered, she used Heal Pulse, restoring their energy so they could continue. "Great job, Clefairy!" Ace encouraged. "You're the heart of this team!"
Clefairy beamed at the praise, but her concentration never wavered.
Ace himself wasn't idle. He ran laps under the crushing gravity, his muscles screaming in protest. 'No pain, no gain,' he thought, pushing himself harder. 'I can't let my Pokémon outdo me.'
As they trained, a pair of sharp eyes watched them from the tall grass nearby. A Male Nidoran with a bright pink body and a horn glowing faintly peeked out, its fierce expression betraying its intent. It had been observing Ace's team for a while, impressed by their strength and discipline.
Suddenly, Nidoran leapt from the grass, letting out a loud war cry.
"What the—?" Ace turned to face the unexpected visitor. The Pokémon stared him down, pawing the ground as if preparing to charge.
Clefairy immediately stopped Gravity, and Ace's Pokémon turned to face the intruder. "Whoa, easy there," Ace said, holding up a hand. "This guy looks like he's itching for a fight."
Nidoran's sharp gaze locked onto Ace's team, and Ace nodded, understanding its intent. "Alright, you want a battle? You've got it. Staryu, you're up!"
The star-shaped Pokémon moved forward, spinning into position. Its blue gem sparkled in the sunlight, ready for action.
"Nidoran, huh?" Ace mused, pulling out his Pokédex for a quick scan. "Let's see what we're dealing with here."
[Name:Nidoran, the Poison Pin Pokémon.
Description: Stiffens its ears to sense danger. The larger its horns, the more powerful its secreted venom.
Type: Poison.
Ability: Rivalry.]
"Rivalry, huh?" Ace smirked. "This one's got some fight in him. Alright, Staryu, let's test his mettle. Use Rapid Water Gun!"
Staryu spun into the air, releasing a high-powered blast of water. The attack slammed into Nidoran, but the Poison Pokémon gritted its teeth and countered with Disable, causing Staryu's Water Gun to fizzle out.
Ace's eyes narrowed. "So it knows Disable? Impressive. No problem, we've got other moves! Staryu, shrink down with Minimize and follow up with Rapid Spin!"
Staryu's body shrank, making it harder to target, and it spun even faster, charging toward Nidoran. The hit landed, but Nidoran retaliated by spewing a cloud of purple gas—Toxic.
"Damn it!" Ace cursed as Staryu recoiled, its body glowing with the telltale sign of poison.
Nidoran didn't let up. It released a green liquid that enveloped Staryu, reducing its speed and power with Venom Drench.
"This thing's got an insane moveset!" Ace muttered, gritting his teeth. "Staryu, don't let it get to you! Use Gyro Ball!"
The Poison Pokémon rushed forward, attempting to land a Fury Attack, but Staryu's Gyro Ball slammed into it, sending it skidding backward. Nidoran retaliated with Poison Tail, slashing at Staryu mid-spin.
Both Pokémon were starting to falter. Staryu's movements grew sluggish as the poison took its toll.
"Recover, Staryu!" Ace commanded. Staryu glowed faintly as it restored some of its health, but Nidoran wasn't done. Letting out another war cry, it charged with Thrash, its body glowing with raw power.
Ace's mind raced. 'This is bad. Staryu's taking too much damage, and Nidoran isn't letting up.'
Suddenly, Staryu's blue gem began to glow. Without warning, a beam of pink energy shot forward, slamming into Nidoran.
Ace's eyes widened in shock. "Psybeam?!" he exclaimed. A grin spread across his face. "You learned Psybeam at the perfect time! Alright, let's finish this—give it everything you've got!"
The Psybeam hit Nidoran head-on, confusing it in the process. Despite the confusion, Nidoran tried to keep fighting, but its body finally gave out, collapsing to the ground.
Ace exhaled heavily, his heart pounding. "What a fight," he said, approaching the downed Pokémon. "You've got more fight in you than most trainers' teams combined."
Pulling out a Pokéball, Ace tossed it at Nidoran. The ball shook once, twice, three times before clicking shut.
"Yes!" Ace cheered, picking up the Pokéball. "Welcome to the team, Nidoran!"
Unbeknownst to Ace, two figures watched him from a distance. A towering Nidoking and Nidoqueen observed silently, their expressions solemn.
"Now let's check your moveset…" Ace murmured as he scanned it with his Pokédex.

Moves: Disable (Egg Move), Toxic, Venom Drench (Egg Move), Fury Attack, Confusion (Egg Move), Poison Tail (Egg Move), Thrash (Egg Move), Amnesia (Egg Move), Double Kick, Toxic Spikes.]
Ace stared at the screen, slack-jawed. "Six egg moves? This Nidoran is a born with immense power, and it's still younger than my Pokemon!" He clenched his fist, excitement bubbling up inside him. "I'm lucky to have found you. Let's show the world just how strong you can become."
As Ace walked toward Pewter City, the Nidoking and Nidoqueen turned away, disappearing into the wilds. Their son had found a worthy trainer, and they were at peace with his choice to explore the world and become the strongest.
