[Johan's POV]
Several heavy footsteps thudded against the sand as more of his father's men emerged into the estuary. They were non-uniformed, but he knew they were licensed militants. Roughly, there were already around twenty on their side of the river, while another group was dispatched to the other side, searching for enemies that may be lurking in the woods.
Uriel and his bodyguards had been apprehended: two were kept alive, one was injured and being treated, while the one who held him hostage earlier had been slid into a body bag, dead.
His father killed a person in broad daylight. That shouldn't come as a surprise. There's no doubt he'd done it to protect him. Despite the toxic father-and-son relationship they had, they were still family.
A family that thrived on blood and murder.
Oh my god! It took me a month to update. But I'm swamped with deadlines at the moment. :(
Anyway, with the plans I have for Aaron's side story, Ivan will be playing a huge part, so... see you once it's completed.
