Capítulo 194: Blood Candidate. (Part 2)
Takashi was talking to a girl.
No, it would be better to say the girl was chattering on her own and Takashi was only nodding and saying 'yes' once in a while.
Aurora was standing a little far away from him.
She and Takashi have spent a lot of time together in the past few months, so she knows Takashi to an extent.
He is feeling irritated by the girl, but he is not letting it show in his face.
It seemed to Aurora that Takashi wanted to run away from the girl, who was chattering non-stop to him.
Aurora chuckled seeing Takashi trying to act as polite as possible.
Shaking her head, she approached them.
"Do you always plan to surprise me with unexpected meetings?"
Takashi hearing the voice widened his eyes in surprise!
He turned towards the voice and there she was!
Wearing a high neck black and red satin cutout long dress, Aurora Blood.
She had a smile on her face, as she stood in front of him.
"Even I was surprised when my uncle asked me to attend the party on behalf of him. It's not like I can always plan unexpected meetings, can I?" Takashi returned Aurora a smile before replying to her.
Aurora turned to the girl who had a frown on her face.
"Hello." She greeted the girl.
The girl as if disturbed by Aurora's presence gave her a cold look before putting on a fake smile.
"Hello." The girl greeted back before she turned to Takashi and started chattering again.
Aurora shook her head seeing the girl's attitude towards her.
She then introduced herself to the girl.
"My name is Aurora, Aurora Blood."
Hearing Aurora, the girl suddenly stiffened up.
She paled realising who, Aurora, is!
"Excuse me, I just remembered something!" Excusing herself, the girl ran away as quickly as possible.
Seeing the girl running away, both Aurora and Takashi laughed.
"Thank you for rescuing me, Rory. That girl was a motormouth, I felt like she would never stop talking!" Takashi thanked Aurora for rescuing him from the girl.
"You're welcome!" Aurora replied to Takashi before asking him.
"So how come you're here? I haven't seen your name on the guest list, I assume that you are here on behalf of Akira Sakazaki?"
(A/N: I know this is confusing since he already mentioned that he was here on behalf of his uncle but that Aurora was feeling jealous and didn't hear him clearly before.)
Takashi nodded to Aurora.
"Yes, uncle Akira caught the flu. So I came here on behalf of him. How are you, not bored are you?" Takashi asked Aurora.
Aurora sighed before replying to him.
"To be honest, I'm bored. Also, I don't like being around the Blood family much. Anyhow, I'm fine. How about you? You seem to have gathered many eyes from the girls at the party." Aurora said to Takashi, looking around she saw many teens and young women were eyeing Takashi.
Somehow, Aurora felt a bit jealous but she discarded those thoughts and feelings. Telling herself, that it must be the wine finally getting to her.
(A/N: Jealousy sometimes can be recognised at first glance and sometimes it is not apparent. This time, Takashi noticed!)
"I can't say the same thing about you... The boys and the men, they look like, they are afraid of you..." Takashi said to Aurora, he found it unusual that the boys and the young men were avoiding Aurora.
"I crippled some 'brother ding-dongs' in the past of the people who approached me or looked at me with lust-filled eyes. So yeah, they are scared that something similar might happen to them, that's why they are afraid." Aurora shrugged as she replied to Takashi.
"..." Takashi.
Takashi sighed before extending his right arm to Aurora.
"Would you like to dance?" Takashi offered, smiling at her.
Aurora was surprised at the invitation but she didn't decline.
Locking arms with Takashi, she let Takashi lead her to the dance floor.
On the dance floor, many people seeing the couple were surprised, some couldn't believe their eyes and was shocked to see that Aurora Blood has accepted a dance invitation from someone!
Even Aurora's parents, Aiden and Tessiana Blood were surprised seeing their daughter with someone.
Aurora has never accepted an invitation from anyone. She always danced with Aaron or Avalon at parties.
Both of them are her family, one is her blood sibling and the other, her cousin.
She never danced with anyone else outside of her family.
As the two danced, they conversed with each other.
"Most people are surprised and in shock... Is it your first time dancing with someone else?"
"Yes, it is. I only danced with my father, my mother, Aaron my brother and Avalon my cousin. You're lucky, you're the first person outside of my family who I accepted an invitation to dance from."
"Is that so? Then I'm honoured to be your dance partner, Ms Aurora Blood."
Aurora giggled hearing, Takashi.
"Your smile is beautiful, do you know that?"
"I do. Why? Have you fallen for me, Mr Takashi Sakazaki? We only have known each other for a few months. Have I stolen your heart?"
"Hmm... What if I say, yes? What if I have fallen for you, Ms Blood!"
"Then it is better to discard those feelings, I don't think I can love someone or fall for some, Mr Sakazaki. I'm not interested in love or relationship with love."
"So guarded, are you? What if I break those walls around your heart? Honestly speaking, I'm quite confident I can."
Aurora chuckled mischievously.
She gazed into Takashi's eyes, before leaning forward.
"I don't think so. But if you're interested in a relationship with no strings attached to my heart then I'm available for that kind of relationship, Mr Sakazaki." Aurora whispered into Takashi's ear, teasing him.
Takashi's heart skipped a beat!
The tip of his ears turned pink, feeling embarrassed.
"What do you say, Mr Sakazaki? Do you desire me? I know I do desire you!"
Takashi quickly changed the topic.
"So, I heard rumours that the Patriarch of the Blood family was supposed to announce Aaron's fiancee today. I don't see Aaron here, so what's going on?"
Aurora's mood shifted and her expression became neutral.
"It was but not anymore. My brother isn't here, so my father can't announce engagements. There are some possible outcomes that I have guessed but I'm not certain about them. My father is unpredictable, I don't know what he might do." Aurora replied to Takashi.
Hearing Aurora, Takashi inquired about her guesses.
"What is your most probable outcome?"
"My engagement with Kieran Johnson." Aurora replied.
Suddenly, Takashi felt jealousy towards his sworn brother, Kieran.
"If that outcome does become true, then I can still do something and turn that engagement into an advantage for me. But I have a sinking feeling in my heart, it's going to be something unexpected. Possibly, something that will put me and my brother into a disadvantageous situation."
"I see "
Suddenly, the music stopped.
Takashi and Aurora stopped dancing.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. May I have your attention please!" Aiden Blood, the Patriarch of the Blood family said raising his voice.
Everyone turned towards the Patriarch of the Blood family.
"I want to thank you all for honouring my invitation and for coming to this party."
Aurora intently stared at her father.
Something is wrong, she had a sinking feeling that something huge is about to happen.
"As everyone here knows, that I still haven't announced my Blood Candidate yet!"
Hearing her father, a certain idea came to her mind.
Aurora's hands balled into fists!
"After careful consideration, I'm finally announcing my Blood Candidate."
"The Blood Candidate of the main family, who will be representing me, the Blood family Patriarch... My nephew, Avalon Damon Blood!" The Blood family Patriarch announced.
Everyone started clapping after the Blood family Patriarch announced Avalon as his successor.
Aurora's heart turned cold.
Anger filled her eyes, as she stared at the Blood family patriarch, Aiden Blood.
To her, everything around her quieted down.
Her gaze fixed on to the Patriarch, Aiden Blood.
Aiden saw his daughter.
He could see the anger in her eyes, he knows that she is probably holding herself back from lashing out.
That gaze of Aurora hurt him, but he is firm on his decision!
He turned towards his wife, Tessiana Blood.
The expression on her face was complicated, there were disappointment, anger and sadness.
She shook her head and left.
Aurora then turned to Avalon.
Avalon was surrounded by many people, he was being congratulated on for becoming a Blood Candidate of the Blood family Patriarch.
From a corner of his eyes, Avalon saw Aurora looking at him.
He looked towards Aurora and mouthed out a word to her.
'Checkmate.'
Blood dripped from Aurora's hands that were balled into fists, she reined in her anger.
Turning away, Aurora left the party.
