The first week, they learned that the woman was named Avion and she understood their language but couldn't speak it.
A month has passed and nothing seems to be suspicious about her. She was named as the new flower of the capital despite appearing only once. Her hair, which is dark as night, and her eyes, which shine like purple amethyst, are what mesmerized them.
The second month, A prophecy was told.
"A woman loved by the Goddess of Soul will descend upon a lake. She, who will save us from the threat of evil."
Everyone thought that Avion was that girl. The innocent lady was confused at the time. But later on, she caught up to the prophecy.
Yelena personally taught her how to speak their language.
"Cute." Avion chuckles.
"What was that?!"
Yelena raised her brows as she glared at the smiling woman.
"Ikaw. Cute." (You. Cute.)
"Shut up. Your accent is weird." She said and did the paperwork. "Work on your assignment now!"
The woman pouted.
"Ah... Nakaka-miss kumain ng Kwek-kwek!" She suddenly sigh. (I miss eating kwek-kwek.)
"What was that?"
"Hmm... Food. From. Place." It sounded weird too for the woman to speak like that, but she couldn't connect the words.
"A food from where you come from?"
Avion nodded her head.
"Tell it to the chef."
"Hmm." She shakes her head. "Not know."
"Then you should just eat something else."
The woman groans again. Yelena couldn't do anything since she didn't know what it was.
Yelena glanced at the paper Avion was writing.
"That and this are wrong."
"Waahhh??"
Yelena smiled slightly at the face Avion made.
"Ah! Cute!"
"Stop! I'm not cute!" She told her.
"Yena, cute."
"Yena?"
"Name?" The woman pointed at her.
"My name is Yelena. Not Yena."
"Ah! Like Yena." Her smile shines bright in the eyes of Yelena.
She felt her face heating up. She's been like this for the past month.
And so, months have passed, and they have learned another thing about her. She's a potential magician.
"Every day we find out more about you." Yelena said.
"Aren't I amazing?" Avion proudly told herself that.
"You're boasting."
"You love it when I'm boasting, Yena."
Avion put her face closer to Yelena's but was pushed away. Yelena looked away with a red face.
"Ah. Tomato."
"Ugh! I'm not a tomato!" She glares at her, but the woman just laughs.
...
"Yena, I learned magic today. Wanna see?"
Avion pulled her closer, and the next thing she knew was that they were floating in the sky.
"The.... Fffuuuccckkk!!!!" Yelena shouted and held on tightly to Avion. "Get me down!"
"Hahaha. Sorry."
Instead of bringing her down, they glide in midair and enjoy the scenery.
"I swear I'm going to kill you!" She cursed.
Avion just laughed at her.
...
A year had passed and they were getting ready for war. The monsters are swarming the Empire's border.
"Yena."
Avion held Yelena by the hand and held her face.
"Hmm?" Yelena raised her gaze to Avion.
"After this, what's going to happen?" Avion asked.
"It's over. But maybe there would be some monsters that would run away. At least they were lessened." She said,
"No. What I mean is, would I go back?"
Her ears twitched. Her chest aches at that question. What if Avion goes back to her original world?
"T-then I guess it couldn't be helped."
She stepped back and got back to polishing her swords.
"Are you going to be sad?" Avion asked.
"Ha? W-why would I? I-isn't that great for you?" Her vision started to blur as she wiped her sword.
"Then why are you crying?"
She stopped and tried to wipe her tears away, but they just kept coming and she couldn't do anything but cry pathetically.
She felt a hand caressing her face.
"I'm just kidding."
She glares at the woman.
"I swear I'm going to kill you."
"I don't mind."
Avion reached for her cheeks and kissed them.
"Be careful out there. I'll get going."
"B-be careful too. If you die, I'll kill you."
"Ehh?"
.....
Yelena was lost in the battle. They didn't know that it would be tough. A lot of people have lost their lives, and she's here fighting for her life. She's a failure as a commander. Letting her people die in vain.
Her hands are getting numb as she swings her sword. The war was a failure.
'I can't do it anymore.'
Her legs gave up and her sword dropped. She stared lifelessly at an ogre lifting its metal club and preparing to swing it.
'No! No! I want to live! I want to live! Save me! Please! Anyone!... Avy!'
She tightly closed her eyes and waited for it to end for her. Instead, she heard a loud explosion, and something spilled on her face.
She opened her eyes to see the ogre's half body was gone and a person running towards her.
"Yena.." The person hugged her with comfort and worry.
"I told you to be careful." Avion whispered.
"Master, a lot of people have lost their lives." A man beside Avion said.
Avion sighed in frustration and carried Yelena. "Get her back to the camp and treat her."
"How about you, master?" The man asked.
"I am fine."
Avion gave Yelena to the man. Yelena held Avion.
"L-let's... go back.. There are a lot of them..." She mumbled.
"I'll be back, Yena. You trust me, right?" Avion gave her a smile.
"Y-you better be." She let go of Avion and certainly got taken away.
...
"Lady Avion.... She's gone."
Yelena was stunned. She couldn't speak, and all she heard was static inside her head.
"W-what? T-that can't be! She said she'd come back! I won't believe it! Take her to me!" She got off the bed, but she eventually fell because no strength was in her legs. "Take me to her! S-she can't be dead! She's loved by the goddess! I won't believe it!"
Her tears came flowing down her cheeks. It was a loud cry.
"A dragon appeared out of nowhere and killed her."
"No! T-that can't be! There was no dragon in the written report! I-it must be another being."
"It's the truth." The man who had taken her back to the tent came in. "Master is gone. If only I was there to protect her in time." The man glares at her.
Only her cries were heard inside the tent. She felt her heart breaking into pieces.
"All monsters were defeated. The dragon was nowhere to be seen. Get back to the castle and report the victory. Honor my master's sacrifice for this country." The man said before going out.
....
After that, they did what they were told. Yelena was not on her own after that. Everyone thought she had gone insane.
She started crying again inside her room.
"Avi..."
"Yena, I learned a forbidden magic! Look. It's the magic of time magic. It costs the user and the person involved their memories, but if ever something happens to you. I'm going to turn back time!"
"Are you asking me to die?!"
"Eh? No. But if only."
Yelena immediately got up and wiped her tears. She remembered. A book Avion gave her.
"My Lady?"
She ran down the hall and entered the carriage.
"Go to the Mage's tower! NOW!" She demanded.
"But Lady."
"I'll fvcking kill you if you don't hurry up!"
The coachman did what he was ordered to. He took Yelena to the Mage's tower, where Avion resides.
After arriving, she went inside and ran to Avion's room. She looked at every book on the shelves but found nothing. She looked in the drawers of the table but to no avail.
"Are you looking for this?"
She raised her head and saw that the man from before was standing there holding a book in his hand.
"Who..."
"I'm a mythical creature. Summoned by the master. Here's the book. I can't read its content, so maybe you can." He placed the book on the table.
Yelena looked at it, and it was the book she was looking for. She took it and read its content.
"I... can't read it." She became hopeless. "Avi..."
