In what would later be known as the Segmentum Obscrurus, a beautiful planet by the name of Aktosha was experiencing the visit of ancient beings only known as 'the Old Ones'. The Old Ones had just done what they were best at, manipulate the biology and genetic makeup of a species and raise it to new glorious heights. Their most recent project was a species they call the Aeldari. The goal of the Old Ones was to create a species that could aid them in their quest and the war that raged through the galaxy. The Necrontyr, angry about their lack of sunscreen, had declared war on the Old Ones.
The terrible wars between the Old Ones and the Necrontyr that followed, known later in Aeldari myth as the "War in Heaven," would fill a library in their own right, but the Necrontyr could never win. Their superior technology was consistently outmanoeuvred by the Old Ones thanks to their mastery of the Webway portals and Warp Gates. The Necrontyr were pushed back until they were little more than an irritation to the Old Ones' dominance of the galaxy, a quiescent threat clinging to their irradiated world among the Halo Stars, exiled and forgotten. The Necrontyr's fury was cooled by their long millennia of imprisonment on their homeworld, slowly transforming into an utter hatred towards all other forms of intelligent life and an implacable determination to avenge themselves upon their seemingly invincible enemies.
But in the face of defeat, the always fragile unity of the Necrontyr began to fracture once more. The prospect of a common enemy no longer had any hold over the disparate dynasties. Scores of generations had now lived and died in the service of an unwinnable war, and many Necrontyr dynasties would have gladly sued for peace with the Old Ones if the ruling Triarch had permitted it.
Thus began the second iteration of the Wars of Secession, more widespread and ruinous than any that had come before. So fractured had the Necrontyr dynasties become by then that, had the Old Ones been so inclined, they could have easily wiped out their foes. Faced with the total collapse of their rule, the Triarch searched desperately for a means of restoring order. In this, their prayers were answered, though the price for their species would be incalculably high.
.
As all of this was going on, the Aeldari, still the cradle of their existence, were starting to build their society and their culture. Success was an important part of Aeldari culture. The Aeldari did everything they did with maximum effort. Nothing could be done half-heartedly. Education, research, love, fighting ... everything was done this way. It was due to the way the Old Ones created them. Their strong souls were the reason for that.
Among the Aeldari, there was one who was even more special than the already incredible race. His name was Invoroth Rhyliac. When the Aeldari were created, Invoroth Rhyliac was the first one who they experimented on and created. But during the process, the Old Ones experienced something they weren't expecting. The soul of Invoroth Rhyliac was a strong one and when they were forming him, something they could not have accounted for, something no one could have known happened. A soul from a different reality altogether fused with the one the Old Ones had created for Invoroth Rhyliac.
The result was something that the Old Ones didn't know what to do with, an Aeldari with much more potential than anyone else from his race. At that moment, the Old Ones lost their control over the soul and the mind of Invoroth Rhyliac. It was as if at one point it was open for them to do with as they pleased and at the next, it was locked and beyond their control.
As they created the rest of the Original Aeldari, the Old Ones decided to keep an eye on Invoroth Rhyliac for the time being to see how he turned out. But the War in Heaven prevented them from doing that. The Aeldari were left to develop on their own and Invoroth was among them. The two souls fused into one were now much more powerful and gifted with something special, the knowledge of the future from a meta-knowledge point of view and a Meta Essence. The Essence of the sound mind and soul.
The reincarnation side of Invoroth Rhyliac knew how incredibly valuable the Essence was for him as an Aeldari.

With the potential future, the Aeldari face, this is a golden opportunity for him to survive the ordeal and continue the way he did. And that was the question now. What should he do? He knows the current state of the galaxy. The Necrontyr had lost their first war against the Old Ones and were now locked in the second Succession War, something that kept the Necrontyr from being certain victors in the future. They weren't united like the Imperium was behind the Emperor of Mankind. But the future looked bleak for the Old Ones. The Necrontyr would soon become the Necrons and then the second part of the War in Heaven would commence.
So Invoroth had to prepare for the inevitable fight the Aeldari would enter against the Necrons. As the oldest and part of the first generation of Aeldari, Invoroth is held in high regard. His beyond-genius intelligence has set him apart from the rest. He was the one who started to create what would later be known as the iconic advanced Aeldari technology. Not only that, the more dangerous technology would either be lost or Invoroth would not make it public.
The Aeldari started to develop and grow their culture on their Crone World, Aktosha. It was a time of peace and happiness for the Aeldari and they enjoyed themselves, at least most of them.

(Invoroth Rhyliac POV)
Reincarnated ... reborn ... born anew. I can't believe it. My new reality is still unbelievable for me, but my Essence is helping me with the process. I was but one in billions and now ... I am the Original Aeldari. The first one to be created by the Old Ones. I know about this galaxy. I know about Warhammer 40'000, even if only vague details. The Grim Dark ... it is aptly named. There is not one race in Warhammer that exists to help others. Everyone seeks their own benefit. Some want to rule the galaxy, others want to kill all life and then some want to consume all biological material ...
*Sigh*
I have to prepare, that much is clear. I can already see the path I will take to advance our race to the heights it experienced at our peak. But, to what end? What would it help? The Aeldari physiology is bound to cause our own destruction, so I don't want to change much, to bring our doom any time soon.
So the question remains. What should I do? One thing is for sure, I will make sure I survive no matter what and to that end, I will have to start research that helps me take advantage of the things I know will occur in the future. The Necrons will arrive, together with their C'tan Masters, bringing destruction to the Old Ones. Necron technology is something I will definitely want to research. Unlike my brethren, I am not prideful enough to ignore that chance. And a good opportunity will present itself anyway.
So apart from technology, I will look into genetic engineering. The Old Ones took away our evolution and just shot us to this stage, leaving us without it. Whether that is good or bad, will have to be judged by someone who cares. I for one, want to continue to grow. The enemies I will face will be immeasurable for one alone.
The Necrons, the forces of chaos, the Tyranids ... I am nothing. But I will be soon. The Tyranids, Chaos and the Necrons are in some way opposed to the Warp or the Immaterium as it is known. The Tyranids create some kind of shadow, the Necrons hate the Warp since they will lose their souls and Chaos ... is chaos. But with me being an Aeldari, I am a natural psyker and will make use of that.
Thanks to the Essence of a sound mind a soul, I will be protected from their influence. I am completely immune to soul attacks, manipulation, destruction and other negative effects. This allows me to be very free in the way I use the Immaterium. I am particularly interested in biomancy. Biomancers specialise in manipulating biological energy and metabolic processes with the power of their minds. They are masters of the flesh, learning to shape and influence the physical forms of themselves, their allies or their enemies, according to their will. The potential this discipline has is incredible and will allow me to improve myself greatly. Using my meta knowledge, I will take inspiration from fiction and create enhancements for myself.
.
At the heart of the Seer's abilities are runes, Wraithbone constructs which act as both a source and safeguard for their powers. The Seer draws energy from the Warp through these runes and uses them to focus that energy towards a given task. If too much energy is drawn in, or the Seer attempts a task beyond their capabilities, the rune will glow red-hot and, if the Seer continues, be destroyed. It is through these runes that Aeldari Seers are able to avoid many of the Perils of the Warp that afflict lesser minds.
I won't have that problem, and with my beyond-genius intelligence and the boons brought by the Essence, I won't need runes that much. But I might still use them to create better armour or weapons. There are a few things, like Odin and the hammer Mjolnir from the Marvel Universe that use runes and he does it very well. I wonder if I could use the power of the Immaterium the same way he does and use words as runes ... food for thought.
No matter, I have many things to do and little time, before the Necrontyr fuck themselves up and become the Necrons. I remember that it was during the reign of the Silent King Szarekh that the godlike energy beings known as the C'tan first blighted the Necrontyr. It is impossible to say for certain how the Necrontyr first made contact with the C'tan, though many misleading, contradictory and one-sided accounts of these events exist.
The dusty archives of the Tomb World of Solemnace claim it was but an accident, a chance discovery made by a stellar probe during the investigation of a dying star. The Book of Mournful Night, held under close guard in the Aeldari Black Library's innermost sanctum, tells rather that the raw hatred that the Necrontyr held as a species for the Old Ones sang out across space, acting as a beacon that the C'tan could not ignore.
No matter what the truth may be, I will need all the time I have access to, to get ready for this war. So better get to it.
