One Piece: Harem in an Alternate Universe

Capítulo 1: Enter Luffy

Location: Sabaody Archipelago

Time: 2:44 PM

The pink-haired ship caretaker ran as fast as he could on the path to the south of the archipelago. His glasses shone in the sun as he kept sprinting forward. Despite his small, weak figure and despite the heat, his expression was intense, as if he was being chased by a beast, perhaps because he was.

The Alvida Pirates had initiated a raid on the archipelago. An explosion echoed through the sky—probably caused by Alvida herself. Although she was merely a weak captain from the East Blue just months ago, now she had climbed her way up to 400 million berries with the help of her smooth-smooth fruit.

"Coooobyy!!!" she roared with rage. "Come back!!" The sea seemed to shake in its chains at her command.

But this didn't phase the running lad at all. Instead, it only added to his motivation. This was the last time the Iron Mace, the other name of Alvida, would make him scared of her. He had to keep running until the Marines arrived.

After accidentally taking the wrong boat, he had been their toy for the past year. His fate couldn't have been worse. No freedom to speak for himself, no hope to live peacefully without fearing the consequences. But this was his chance. The archipelago weren't far from a marine base and if an admiral was to show up, he'd finally be saved!

He didn't want to die; he wanted to run away from all that pain. It had lasted for so long, that sometimes, he thought he was going crazy. Yet his will had never weakened; he had stayed loyal to his ideals, his morals, and the ones he loved and admired, even when hope seemed to have lost itself.

"Rooooarrrrr!" Another boom rose through the skies of the Grand Line, this one more menacing than the previous. A massive tree had been pierced by a swing of the Mace—the weapon Alvida used against those who defied or displeased her. "COBY! You won't escape!"

If this woman were to see him right now, she'd surely use him as a baseball bat again, and her next hit might have been the last. "Got damn, how's she already catching up?!" he exclaimed as the tanned pirate captain gained ground, jumping from rooftop to rooftop. He didn't feel safe from this distance, either—with every blow of the Mace, another earthquake shook, causing damage to nearby structures as the club itself did.

Coby rushed into a smaller hut that seemed to have reinforced itself to the ground. He hid in a corner and let himself rest for a while. However, not even a second passed when a large shadow blocked the light from the sun, accompanied by a gust of wind that swept in through the front entrance. In an instant, the roof was blown to the ground with the support beams it relied on.

The little structure started collapsing, falling in on itself and breaking down the wall that had Coby hidden inside before the wooden house lost its footing.

"A-al-a... al-Alvida! I-I wasn't tr-trying to r-run away from y-you... Please have m-mercy on m-m-me!!!" the young man shouted out, praying it would save his life and he wouldn't suffer a death by a hundred iron blows.

"I'm in a good mood today, so I'll accept your apology for betraying me," his oppressor spoke with a sinister grin. Her laughter, then, came in an outburst like her attacks did—loud and crazed. "But I won't let you go just yet! Do you know what day is today? Exactly one year ago, you officially became a pirate of our crew. Let's make a fest out of it by letting every single crewmember punch you in the face! Or how about a kick to your balls? Yeah, that sounds better."

"Pl-please, no-! I d-didn't have any choi-."

"Don't come with that bullshit! It's not my problem you were a little punk kid who wanted a big fish to tag along in his boat, and our boat just happened to have the big fish I am!"

She jumped high up and landed with an impact that crumbled the dirt underneath her sandals. Without even getting into the position a professional fighter would adopt in order to provide a sure hit, she extended her arm and bent it just slightly before bringing it down and launching him in a one-way trip to the ground. But a mere instant before her attack connected, a swift flash slid between them, clashing the Mace midway and using its recoil to retreat to the side.

A black-haired boy with a scruffy straw hat appeared in the middle of the two.

"Who are you?" Alvida growled. "Go mind your own damn business!"

"Me? I'm Luffy! The man who'll become the pirate king!"

"Pirate king? Ha! You don't even deserve my time," she spoke before focusing on her objective again—beating her caretaker and having a day worth remembering. She lifted her fist up again and...!

"OI!" Luffy hopped into the air, seemingly floating with the sun behind him, before crashing down atop her shoulder—a heavy blow that made the captain lose her breath. A massive shockwave hit the archipelago.

"Nu-You!! You insolent brat! I'll have to use my Mace to squash you into the earth and grind you to dust," Alvida panted. But he was already high in the air again, diving down with the same attack.

Her time was up as she was hammered by a descending blow for a second time. She looked a bit messy at the moment, which made the attack harder for her to take since her hair was frizzled and tangled. "C'mere and stop using that cheat!!"

But Luffy didn't bother to answer. She threw another punch that he effortlessly deflected and counteracted by locking her arm, the one he'd defended himself from, in an armlock—one she struggled to escape. His grip felt like a boa constrictor, but his actions didn't end there. She found her eyes unable to keep up with him as she failed to catch a glimpse of him attacking. "UGHH!! Brat! What is your devil fruit?!"

"Devil fruit?" Luffy answered nonchalantly, oblivious to the effects his actions had. "That's a long story. Is it a paramecia? A mystical zoan? Grandpa tells me it's both and I don't even know!"
