Capítulo 61: Chapter 61: Soaring Sky Current!

Doflamingo, renowned for his immense wealth, held the top position among the Shichibukai as the wealthiest.

He acted as a central figure in the underground world's illicit dealings and served as an intermediary between the World Government and the Four Emperors, including Kaido.

Doflamingo's control extended even to Dressrosa, where he owned the creator of fake Devil Fruits, granting him a vice-like grip on the island.

Kahn's thoughts raced as he realized the extent of Doflamingo's power. He now considered him to not just a big fish, but a colossal whale.

The magnitude of Doflamingo's influence astounded Kahn, and his strength was equally impressive – positioned between the highest echelons and the lesser contenders.

"A powerful force, much stronger than a mere leek," Kahn thought, a wry smile forming.

Previously preoccupied with contemplating his involvement, Kahn was now confronted by the very person he had been pondering. Doflamingo's emissary stood before him, and Kahn couldn't help but marvel at the timing of events.

Looking down at those beneath him, Kahn's expression softened into a kind smile.

"Impressive man!" he praised.

Meanwhile, Bellamy, writhing in agony, eyed Kahn's smile with a growing sense of dread. Ignoring the stunned onlookers, Kahn initiated a conversation.

"Last time in Alabasta, Crocodile injured my subordinates and attacked me first. I demanded two billion Berries in compensation. This time, you injured two sailors, each warranting 500 million Berries in compensation. My intervention cost me 300 million. Rounded up, that's 1.5 billion Berries. What do you say?" Kahn proposed.

Bellamy was dumbfounded, grappling with the staggering sum of 1.5 billion Berries. The thought crossed his mind – could he be worth that much? Yet, he knew Doflamingo wouldn't oblige to such an exorbitant demand, especially considering Bellamy's insignificant status.

"Impossible! Lord Doflamingo won't pay that much. I'm just a small player!" Bellamy responded weakly.

Kahn wasn't one to be deterred. He asserted that, as Doflamingo's subordinate, Bellamy's actions had injured marines. This justified Kahn's intervention.

"Let me ask you something, Do you have money?" Kahn inquired, drawing Bellamy's attention.

"No," Bellamy replied, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

Kahn seemed unperturbed by the response. "No worries. Here's the thing – your younger brother injured some of my subordinates. It's only reasonable for me to seek compensation, don't you think?"

Bellamy found himself speechless, grappling with the unexpected turn of events. However, a nagging feeling told him that something wasn't quite right about this situation.

Despite his internal conflict, Kahn seemed to pay no mind to Bellamy's concerns, forging ahead with his intentions.

Turning his attention to practical matters, Kahn instructed, "Pochi, fetch a pen and paper. We need to have him write down an IOU."

Pochi, momentarily taken aback, swiftly recovered. "Yes, Lieutenant General Kahn," he acknowledged, producing a pen and notebook and passing them to Bellamy.

Bellamy stared blankly at the pen and paper before him, a whirlwind of thoughts racing through his mind.

Kahn's aura exuded an intimidating presence, amplifying the urgency of the situation. A sense of impending danger clenched at Bellamy's chest, forcing him to overcome his hesitation and write down the agreed terms, securing his life for the time being.

With the IOU in hand, Kahn's demeanor shifted to one of satisfaction. He had achieved what he set out to do, without a hint of remorse. He then directed his attention to the next step – the arrest of Bellamy. Pochi, the deputy, initially appeared taken aback by the audacity of arresting a member of the Shichibukai, but Kahn's response was swift and resolute.

"Lieutenant General Kahn, he's a Shichibukai's subordinate," Boqi hesitated.

"I'm messenger of justic," Kahn retorted firmly, emphasising his authority.

Kahn's glare silenced any further objections from Pochi. However, before Pochicould fully respond, Kahn cut him off with a rebuke.

"Pochi, why the confusion? Attacking the Navy means he's crossed a line. The protection of the Shichibukai no longer applies to him. Understand the distinction between our regular Navy forces and the Shichibukai."

Pochi's eyes lit up with realization as the pieces clicked into place. "Understood, Lieutenant General Kahn."

Satisfied with Pochi's comprehension, Kahn turned his attention to the sailors who had witnessed the proceedings.

He addressed them with an authoritative yet rallying tone. "Remember this: as sea soldiers under my command, face challenges head-on. I will lead the way and shield you from any adversity. The title of Shichibukai holds no sway against our determination. This man, Bellamy, is now in our custody."

The sailors erupted in cheers, their loyalty and enthusiasm evident.

"Long live Lieutenant General Kahn, long live Lieutenant General Kahn," they chanted.

However, Pochi's uncertain question about potential failure brought a pause to the celebratory atmosphere. Kahn's abrupt freeze in response revealed the weight of Pochi's inquiry.

Quickly recognizing his misstep, Pochi attempted to backtrack. "I-I mean, Lieutenant General Kahn, I misspoke."

Kahn's stern demeanor softened slightly, his amusement evident. "It's alright. In fact, your observation is valid. I've decided to implement special training. My soldiers shouldn't struggle against a mere pirate. We can't afford to lose face."

Pochi's unease was palpable, but he dared not challenge Kahn's decision. His thoughts on whether the training was a guise for punishment remained unspoken.

Kahn's satisfaction with Pochi's acquiescence was clear. "Very well then, let's proceed with the arrest." He gave the order, and two sailors stepped forward to restrain the subdued Bellamy and his companion, who now realized resistance was futile.

With the arrest concluded, the sailors regrouped and restocked their supplies before returning to their warship. The vessel set sail once again, bound for headquarters. Amidst the preparations, Pochi's inquiry about Doflamingo's admission of guilt lingered in the air.

Kahn's response was confident, reflecting his understanding of the situation. "When it's written in black and white, how can he deny it?" Pochi's lingering confusion was evident, but he refrained from pressing further.

Yet, Kahn's thoughts were not yet complete. The matter at hand extended beyond whether Doflamingo would admit guilt – it was about whether he would choose to pursue it. This decision, Kahn believed, was contingent upon the individual held accountable.

Kahn acknowledged the intricacies of the situation, considering the dynamics at play. He held a conviction that Doflamingo, no matter his response, held a relationship with him that could sway the outcome. What Kahn sought was a reason – a justification for his actions.

After replenishing their supplies, Kahn's warship embarked on its journey back to headquarters. The passage of time weighed on Kahn's mind, leading him to reminisce about his previous returns. However, the tranquility was short-lived as the warship encountered a turbulent current, disrupting the calm seas.

As the ship steadied itself, Kahn's brow furrowed. He recognized the phenomenon – a sky current, a natural occurrence he had encountered before. Pochi's report provided clarification, yet it raised a perplexing question for Kahn.

"The sky current?" Kahn's surprise was palpable.

Pochi's surprise echoed Kahn's sentiment. "You mean Lieutenant General Kahn doesn't know? That's surprising."

Kahn found himself in a state of mild confusion. He pondered what significant detail he might have overlooked, an uncertainty that gnawed at him.
