Third-person POV
After spending a majority of time walking around and asking for directions, Odr finally arrived in front of the Blue Pharmacy. Looking between the map and the building in front of him while scratching his head.
"Huh, is this the place? It's smaller than I imagined." He questioned out loud while looking at the small building in between two others and a sign that clearly says Blue Pharmacy. Odr stood there, wondering if this was really the place.
He sighs while putting away the map: 'Well, enough standing around, I guess'. He looks back up at the door, ready to go in. However, he's suddenly become nervous while his hand is on the handle. 'I just realized this will be my first meeting with actually God.' He lets go of the handle to walk back a bit.
He starts to walk back and forth in front of the store. Not noticing someone opening the door, and now we are looking at him in confusion.
He starts to bite on his thumbnail while pacing. 'Ok, focus, Odr, you got this. All you are doing is delivering a letter and maybe, maybe, joining the Familia. I mean, the first deity you meet happens to be one of the kindest ones out there, so no pressure.' He thinks to himself. While he's making a trail on the ground, the person watching him turns to call someone else over. Soon they're joined by a second, taller person. Now both of them are watching the spectacle that's happening in front of the store through the open door. One has a lazy/weary look, and the other is just confused and worried.
'What's there to worry about? All you are dealing with, is a depowered God who, like other deities, can tell if someone is lying.' Odr nods to himself like it's no big deal. He stops for a second, acknowledging that most of his interaction was based on lies and deceit. 'Well, more on half-truths really than outright lies. Hopefully, partial truths will not be detected by Gods, and they're cheating hax lie detectors' After having this thought, he lets out a sign, just pushing his hair back.
Suddenly, he slapped both of his cheeks, trying to pysch himself up. Not noticing, he just startled the two who were watching him like a show. One of them looked out in concern and was about to call out, but the other one, the shorter one, grabbed them, shaking their heads, and told them to wait.
'Okay, no more fooling around. I had to deal with it sooner or later. At least I'm lucky that Miach is the first god I'm meeting. Talk about easy mode. Now it's time to see how far I could push my BS and bluff my way through this before I set off his Almighty lie detector.' Odr finished his pregame pep talk.
Well, having his back to the building, he raises one hand, clenching his fist to the sky. "Yosh, let's do this," he says, filled with enthusiasm and determination. He suddenly turns on his feet to storm into the shop with great momentum.
However, he freezes the second he turns around. Finally, he noticed the two somewhat familiar people standing by the door. Who is, in fact, looking at him with a mix of bewilderment and amusement. He doesn't even take a second to figure out why.
'Oh, all powerful Fujino Omori, they saw me. Talk about first impressions.' Odr thought as a blush appeared on his cheeks. He couldn't help but cringe at the thought of this display he had outside their store a second ago.
Coughing into his fist after making a quick recovery. He quickly turns, bows, and offers a quick goodbye. "Thank you for your time. I hope you guys have a wonderful day. Bye now." And he promptly turns around to walk away like nothing ever happened. 'I'll come back later and try again.' He thinks to himself, hoping a second time is the charm.
However, before he can leave, he feels someone putting their hand on his shoulder. Odr turned to see who stooped him. He follows the hand leading up to a man with long, dark blue hair and dark blue eyes. He was wearing a black robe, a tan brown stole that reached down past his shoulders, and brown shoes. Oddly enough, despite looking poor, this guy looks unnaturally beautiful. Unknowingly, he makes a lot of women fall in love with his looks alone. 'Oh my Omori, the stories didn't do it justice. They were right—a natural-breathing, walking gigolo. The one true God of Rizz. He does exist. Lord Miach' Odr thinks while looking at this god in amazement and slight jealousy, 'Damn pretty boy. Good looks, not to mention his natural lady killer personality. I'm filled with so much respect and envy for this man's'
"Can we help you?" Miach asked with a kind smile when he realized Odr was in a daze.
Odr, forgetting literally everything he was planning on saying before, bows towards this almighty God.
"Please, Lord of Rizz, teach me your ways!!"
"Huh." Both Miach and what Odr is assuming is Naaza called out with confusion.
Ord refuses to raise his head. Realizing that he just made him a fool of himself again. Inwardly crying tears of blood, he thinks to himself, 'Omori dammit, I let my greed and desire take control. Wanting to learn the ways to attract women and messing up my whole speech I had prepared. Stupid, stupid, stupid idiot.' Mentally banging his head against a wall every time he thinks the word stupid.
Silence descended upon the three of them. Before Miach coughed into his fist, he was trying to push away from the awkwardness. He lowered his hand to pat Odr on the shoulder one more time to get his attention. He says, "Please get up. There is no need to bow. Also, I had no idea what you were asking. How about you come inside, and we can try again? How does that sound?" He says it with compassion and an understanding smile while looking at Odr.
While letting a couple of seconds go by. Odr finally gets up and looks Miach in the eye. While giving the god in front of him. an appreciative smile for not making fun of his earlier display. He responds, "I would like that very much."
Odr Pov
As I walked in, following the two in, I noticed there was a long counter for purchases, and behind the counter, there were shelves with potions. Against the back wall, on the right, is a small work lap for potions. A window above it. A door to the left behind the counter probably leads to the Miach Familia home, which barely has any mention. 'This place is even smaller than the outside.'
I cannot help but feel someone staring into my skull. I look to see Naaza giving me a lazy or guarded look. 'I wonder why'. Checking her out, I noticed that she looks exactly like the series portrays her. Having long brown hair, purple eyes, dog ears, and a tail. She is wearing a skirt from which her tail sticks out and a peculiar shirt with asymmetric sleeves, with the left being short and the right being long enough to cover her entire arm, in addition to a glove on her right hand. With a face that has a sleepy expression. 'I'm running into a lot of female canine beastmen lately' I can't help but notice.
Finally standing behind the counter with Naaza, Miach turns to me, once again smiling, "Good afternoon, I'm Miach, and welcome to the blue pharmacy. Seeing as how you were practically making a trench in front of my store," Que embarrassment "I can assume you're not here for potions, or you would have simply walked in. So it probably has something to do with my familia. So how may I help you?"
'Damn. I think I underestimated him a bit. Ok, no joke. I got to make sure I watched what I say in front of him.' Putting my bag on the floor, I open it to pull out a letter: "You are right. I'm not looking for potions at the moment. Hell, I'm not even a part of a familia or a registered adventurer yet."
"So you come to join mine? You may or may not know this, but our familia is currently not in a good position. We are a poor familia, and we owe a huge debt to the Dian Cecht familia." He finishes sadly. 'Wow, what honesty! Not even going to lie to gain more members. Point to you, I guess.' I also couldn't help but notice the guilty look on Naaza's face after the debt was mentioned.
"As fun as it is to have that topic, that's not why I'm here. Let me introduce myself. My name is Friggs, and I come on behalf of a mutual acquaintance of ours. He was a former familiar member of yours, a grumpy old dwarf named Rudra Wolfgang."
"Young Rudra, really?" 'I mean, young compared to you, yes' "How is he doing? I haven't heard from him in years." He says this cheerfully, remembering one of his previous children. Naaza, on the other hand,.
"That sadistic old bastard is still alive. Figures: He wouldn't have died to anything small. I'm surprised his old age hasn't gotten to him yet," she says with a little bite in her voice. 'Oh, what this'
"NAAZA, language, and that's not anyway to speak about your previous familia member," he says, lightly scolding Naaza for her comment.
She had the audacity to shrug. "I'm not wrong; I clearly remember that bearded demon's training when he was still here. I don't remember it fondly, and I hope he stubs his toe on every table. And both sides of his pillow are warm at night." 'Oh shit, that's actually quite good for a low-tier curse. I got to remember that, especially that pillow one. I know I like having a cold pillow when I sleep' I focus back on what she said: "He still left in the end, when we needed him the most, so my comment still stands." She's not budging since she's still probably angry at all her previous familia members who left.
Miach could not help but shake his head at her stubbornness. "Naaza, you already know this. I let him leave; he was willing to stay, but you know what he's been through more than anyone. He deserved to have his rest instead of being saddled with even further problems." She just looks away, not willing to look him in the eye. All he can do is give her a sad smile, patting her on the shoulder, but turning back to me, "So you know, young Rudra, I'm gla..... Are you crying?" He says this in surprise. Both his and Naaza's attention is now on me, especially my eyes.
Tears are flowing from my eyes, and with a little snot, I start to wipe it with my arm. "I'm sorry, sorry; please don't mind me. It's just." After wiping my tears, I continue happily and with validation. "I'm just so glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who had to deal with that old fossil training. Finally, someone who understands what kind of person he is. I can totally see where she's coming from and totally agree that the old beardy is truly a demon. Also, he should stop pretending to be young and reacting violently when his age is mentioned," I say in the last part, while looking in Naaza eyes, conveying camaraderie. After she'd gotten over her surprise, she was quick to give me a nod, like she completely understood. 'If Miach wasn't here,we would probably shake hands like bros, bonding over our mutual hatred for the old bastard. Another reason to join this familia, having someone to talk trash about that old timer.'
Miach looks between us, probably understanding what we're thinking. He sighs. "Be that as it may, can we get back on track?"
Finally looking away from my new sister in arms, I says, "Right, right. sorry again. I just feel so great knowing I am not the only one who suffered. The hands of that old dwarf. So, like I was saying, I'm, as you can say, an acquaintance or student of that grumpy man. I met the old man almost two months ago under certain circumstances, which I'll explain later. After some training and torture, I left his company almost a couple weeks ago before coming here to Orario. He asked me for a favor." Handing over the letter that says (For My God Miach, From Rudra Wolfgang)
Taking the letter from my hand. Miach looks it over and carefully opens it. He sees Naaza, and I am curiously looking over his shoulder. He gives us a strained smile, telling us he'll read it out loud and we don't need to crowd him.
Before he starts reading, I get both of their attention. "Both of you watch. I bet the old man wrote about how great I was during the time we spent together. I bet he can't stop talking about how awesome I am." I say bragging with a bit of delusion. Both Miach and Naaza are giving me skeptical looks. Miach just signs, but starts to read the letter out loud.
In case this is not Lord Miach, I would like to say, ,YOU SHITTY NO GOOD BRAT, STOP READING THIS LETTER AT ONCE. I know it's you. On the off chance you couldn't control yourself and had to be noisy, I wrote this just in case. So you better close this letter right now. Or so, help me. I'll find out, and I'll make what I did to you in training look like child's play. I just simply need a God to act as my witness. I'll find out if you're lying or not. Test me, boy. However, if this is Lord Miach, please disregard this page and move on to the next one.
P.S. Lord Miach, if you have received this envelope unopened and if the brat is next to you, Give him a pat on the back and a sarcastic congratulations for having self-control. And if you are listening to or reading this as well, Brat you were able to deliver it unopened. Congrats. You barely avoided receiving another future beating. Which doesn't say much knowing you. You'll give me another annoying reason to hit you. At least we could say you're able to keep your word in the end.
I can feel two sets of eyes giving me a deadpan look. I ignored it anyway, still smiling but my eye was twitching. "Like I said nothing but compliments from that senile senior citizen vertically challenged old man. So don't mind me; keep reading.
Miach and Naaza share a look. Silently communicating if they should keep going 'Rude'. I cough into my fist to get their attention. Miach gives me an apologetic smile and continues reading.
Hello, Lord Miach
I, Rudra Wolfgang I'm writing to you since I have the opportunity to. It's been a while, and I know we haven't spoken in years since I left. You know I'm not into the mushy shit. So I'll keep it simple. I'm alive and doing well in my retirement. I hope you and little Naaza are doing well despite everything. I know I left you in a time of need, but I'm still grateful for you letting me go willingly. You, my most compassionate God, understood the hardships I went through and saw I couldn't handle them anymore. I will forever be grateful. In that regard, I found myself writing this letter to tell you about an interesting encounter I had and a chance for you to gain what I think is a promising familia member, despite how annoying he is.
A month ago, I had this unfortunate, depending on how you look at it, encounter with the idiot who gave you this letter. I don't know if you're letting him read along with you or handing it over to him afterwards; I could care less. Regardless, Brat is the most annoying asinine individual I have ever met in my long life. And if that brat made an age joke or laughed, please, Lord Miach, Little Naaza, or any new Familia members reading along, smack the back of his head for me.
I raise my hand and open my mouth to say something, but I can see Naaza cracking her knuckles. Promptly shut it: 'Are all Miach Familia members violent? How can this nice and caring God have such violent people under him? Also, Naaza, why? I thought we were comrades against this demon'. I was grumbling under my breath.
Continuing on, I'll make this quick: I met the idiot, according to him, when he was teleported into the middle of the woods close to my home. I would recommend asking him again to see if he was telling the truth. I found him injured with a broken leg, calling a goblin, and I repeated goblin, his nemesis. I just knew then, and there I was dealing with a moron. I can go on and on about all the annoying qualities I had to deal with in the last month alone, with his idiotic nicknames and his constant sass that was just begging to be smacked.
However, regardless of all that, he is a harder worker. Probably more than back in the day with our newbies in our Familia. After his leg was healed, he surprised me. Instead of just taking my hand out and leaving, he begged me for training. The survival instincts on this guy, am I right? Nevertheless, I humored him by offering him a chance with a coin toss. If he lost it, the consequences would be severe, but still, he persisted, as though he had nothing to lose. Even though I was bluffing, I would watch out for that if I were you. In the end, he won, and for the next month, I trained him into the ground to bring him up to Snuff for Orario. I made sure to give him great care and attentiveness during his training.
I have to stop right there and point to the accursed letter "LIESSSSS! It was pure torture. I didn't see any care or attentiveness for a second. This shitty old man lies." Naaza pats my shoulder in sympathy. 'Choose a side, already you lazy puppy.' Feeling annoyed, she was ready to act violently and then switch to understanding.
If, by any chance, the Brat interrupted at this point, saying it was torture, tell him to suck it up and stop being a pussy. He's alive and stronger for it anyway. To cut to the point, during the whole month, he did not quit regardless of how much I pushed him, like something driving him to get stronger. I don't know clearly what it is, and I couldn't put in the effort to learn more. But I have to respect his determination throughout it all. So what I'm trying to say is that if you have the chance, try to recruit him into your Familia. I just know that even with the debt you have, he will work hard to succeed. Even if he has the most annoying personality that you just want to beat into submission, I know my brat better than anything; he's no quitter. Even if it was just a month alone, he's still my student, and I know he'll surpass my expectations. Just on spite alone, probably just to get a rise out of me. And yes, if you're reading this idiotic student. This is a compliment to you, so don't let me down, or you won't like the consequences.
I know I haven't mentioned his name. I'll leave his own introduction to him. He's grown up, according to him, so he's capable of introducing himself.
So there, that's all I have to say.
From your ex-Vice-Captain, Rudra Wolfgang.
I don't say anything for a couple minutes since I can see how much the letter means to Miach: 'Huh, he really does care for all his current and previous children. Even regardless of what happened, he still cares. I don't think I mind having a god like him in my corner. I need someone who will go the distance for me and someone I can trust. I just have to ask him one last question.'
"Hey Miach," getting his attention
"Hmm, yes, Young Friggs."
"I just have one question for you, if you don't mind answering." He noticed how serious I am, so he gave me his full attention.
"What is it, child? If there's something you need to say, I'm more than happy to answer." I let the child comment go, since he's probably ancient.
"Seeing how the old man wants me to join your Familia, he already told me what happened to you. I apologize in advance if this is insensitive, but I have to know. I just have one question for you. Do you regret it? The debt I'm referring to and what it did to your familia." I can see Naaza flinching and looking away, guilty. 'I'll make it up to her later' but I don't turn my eyes away from Miach.
Not even giving a second to think "No, not even for a second," he answers honestly and strongly. "I would do anything to make sure all my children are OK, and I won't regret my choices." looking me in the eye and leaving no room for argument. I just nod my head, and what I say next, surprises both of them.
"Well, I'm sold. I decided I wanted to join you guys. As I said before, I heard how you used to be a middle-ranking family from Rudra until a certain incident. The fact that you're willing to incur such a large debt for one familia member speaks to the type of god you are and is one of the reasons I want to join. And the other one is that I wanted to join a small familia anyway." While tapping my chin, I give another reason. "Also, I can finally have someone to talk crap about the crazy dwarf."
Before Miach could speak, he was interrupted by his captain: "That's it, that's all. You understand it's a big debt that you'll be helping cover."Naaza said it untrustingly, as if what I said didn't make any sense to her.
I shrug uncaringly. "As long as the boss man here can update my status regularly and promise to keep whatever he sees to himself, I'm more than happy. As for the debt, I don't mind contributing and working to help lower it or get rid of it entirely. I already have some ideas on how to take some chunks out of it. I'm going to have to take some time to look through some things first, but yes, I think we can deal with it. Also, if this were a story, how cool would it be to join a once-great familiar and bring it back to its former glory? Wouldn't that be a great adventure?" Because everyone knows the gods really do like their entertainment and adventure stories.
"Boss man?" Miach says he is confused.
"Yes, since I'm not into the formal stuff and I decided to work for you. I decided to call you boss, or boss man. I hope you don't mind."
Before Miach could say he doesn't particularly mind but wants to make sure of my decision, he was once again interrupted by Naaza.
She waved her hand between us. Bring the attention on her "Never mind that. What do you mean by being able to lower our debt? You're not lying, are you?" She says it with a weird look in her eye. 'Wait, never mind, it's greed. I see a fellow lover of money; we will get along just fine.
I casually point to the (Godly Lie Detector)with my thumb and say, "Ask him if I was lying. I will not make a promise about whether it will work or not. I first have to do a little research, but if I can pull it off, I can literally lower your debt and lessen the current pressure on your guys shoulders."
She looks over at my future boss with a frown, giving him a look and asking if I'm telling the truth or not. He looks at me, probably judging what I said. After a second, he looks at his captain and nods his head, indicating I was telling the truth. 'which I was, but I only have an idea; I'm not sure if it will work or not, so I wasn't technically lying.'
Naaza makes a complicated face, probably struggling to see if I'm worth joining the family against their need for valis. Not even a second later, she faces me again with a bright smile, grabbing my hands. "We would be glad to have you." Money wins in the end.
"Since I already decided to join your Familia, I also have another letter he said to give you for a recommendation." I pull the other one (If the idiot decides to join') and I can already see their questioning looks. I just wave it off and give Miach the letter.
Miach opens it. "Hmmm, there seem to be two letters here, one for me and one for you. From mine, he says my eyes only. So here's yours."I just raised an eyebrow, wondering what the old man had to say. I grab my letter and notice Naaza standing next to me to read it since Miach kindly asked her to let him read his. I don't particularly mind, so I open it and let her read it over with me.
After opening the letter that is addressed to me and reading the first couple lines, I start to shake in anger, filled with indignation. I came so close to tearing the letter right then and there, if Naaza didn't stop me. I would be grateful if she wasn't trying so hard to control her laughter.
For Idiot Friggs
HA, I KNEW YOU CAVE YOU A SHITTY BRAT. I knew after you saw the type of person Lord Miach is that you couldn't help but join his familia. Even if it was only a month short, I know how much you value honesty and looking for a god you can trust. There's no God better than Lord Miach. I know that, despite being a greedy piece of shit, you are also kind. You reading this means you're joining, and I won't take no for an answer. I'd better see our familia symbol on your back, or I'll tattoo it personally on myself. Making sure to make it as painful as possible.
... but regardless of all that, I'm going to only say this once. Thank you, Odr. I know it's no excuse for indirectly making you make up for my mistakes, but I appreciate it regardless. I'll buy you a drink the next time I see you. So do well. Get Stonger. Succeed. Take care of your fellow familia members. Most of all, don't die.
....."Gramps, couldn't you just compliment me without insulting me? Was it so hard?" I can't help but shake my head fondly, putting the letter safely in my pocket.
I look at my new future boss's face to see what his reaction to his letter is, since I'm not allowed to see it. "What's your say, future boss?" Miach just looks through his letter, not answering my question.
Lord Miach, this is for your eyes only. There's no point in making a recommendation letter. I know he's going to join; I just know it. All I can promise you is that you won't regret it.
On second thought, maybe you will. I mean, dealing with him on a day-to-day basis, will probably drive you crazy, but I know he'll find a way to grow on you. Trust me, it happened to me. Unfortunately. Regardless, I just know you'll get out of debt sooner or later when he joins, not if. If anything, maybe he can help bring the Miach Familia back to its former glory or even farther. Just based on how much of a sore loser that kid is. He won't quit, no matter what, when he sets his sights on something. So good luck, Lord Miach.
PS: Between you and me, I'm thinking of coming back. I just need a little bit more time. The little shit somehow inspired me to make up for my mistakes. It's not going to be anytime soon. I need the kid to realize how dangerous the life of an adventure is without me babysitting him. I know it's reckless, but he'll do fine. So when I do come back, I hope you can find it in your heart to take me back. Well, that's all I can say. I think I wrote enough happy, heartfelt shit for a while. Later, Lord Miach.
He finished reading his letter, folding it up afterwards, looking fondly after reading what his former child wrote to him: "It's nothing important, just something between me and young Rudra." He lost his smile and gave me a serious look. "However, Young Friggs I have to ask you once more: are you sure you wish to join my familia? I cannot offer you much, like I said, and you'll probably have to go alone in the dungeon. Which is not a place to take lightly. I will be perfectly fine and not offended if you choose to go with another familia. So are you sure you still want to join?" He asks me once more to test me and see if I'm lying.
All I give him is a positive thumbs up with no falsehood. "Like I said, you're the perfect familia for me, and when I set my mind to something, I follow through. So you have no worries; I don't have any second thoughts." Miach snorts inwardly at that comment, finding it ironic how close I was to saying word for word what Rudra said in his letter.
He looks at me for a couple seconds, and after seeing that I'm not lying, he goes back to smiling. "Very well, follow me," he turns to Naaza. "Naaza, please watch the store while I take our new members to our home to get his Falna."
"Ok, Miach-Sama." She gives him a lazy salute. Before turning to me, turning that lazy smile into a smirk. "Also welcome to the family, Mr.Friggs. I'm glad to have you on board. Hopefully, you can follow through with your promise. Also, I always wanted juniors to boss around. I look forward to working with you."
Eye twiches "Whatever you say, sleepy. I'm glad to be here too." I say with a forced smile due to the junior comment, 'I'l let you have your moment for now. However, you better watch out. We'll see who's employee of the month later and who bosses who around.'
I follow Miach into the side door, taking me to his room after passing some doors, a small living room, and a kitchen. His room is simple, with a bed, a small window, an office desk, some cabinets, and a closet.
He pulls out a chair. "Sit here, and please remove your shirt." Going to his desk to pick up a letter opener. 'Probably to cut his finger.'
I'm so excited to finally get a falna that I don't even make a joke about stripping or pretending to blush. I remove my coat, shirt, and bag and put them on the floor against the wall. I approached the chair, sitting backwards, giving him access to my back.
"Hold still; this will feel weird for your first time." Miach said while poking his finger, 'Please stop with the vague comments. I'm literally trying my best not to crack a joke.'
I can feel something dropping onto my back, making me feel tingly. Grinning like a loon, 'Finally, after all this time, I get to see what kind of enchantment magic I have. Hopefully I get a skill or two for all the shit I went through.' I eagerly await my new boss to tell me and show me what I have. The Miach Familia emblem appears on my back and Miach gets to work.
.
.
.
.
.
"Um, boss, is everything alright?" I can't help but call him out. Since he hasn't said anything for a couple minutes, I turn my head just to see his eyes wide open, looking at my back. "Is everything alright?" I questioned.
"How is this even possible?" Finally looking up from my back to look me in the eye, like he's seeing something impossible happen. "Just how?"
I start to get worried and call out, "Is there something wrong with my falna? What's the problem?" Seeing my confused look and general worry. Miach just sighs.
He grabs a piece of paper, pressing it against my back. He quickly removes it, holding it to my face. "This is what's wrong." I gingerly take the paper for him, reading over my new status. Every word I read just makes my eyes open wide and leaves my jaw hanging.
Miach just held his head like he was dealing with a headache. "You're literally not even a part of my familia for more than a minute, and yet you're already causing me stress. A potential problem, waiting to happen." Sigh. "Rudra was right." Having a moment to collect himself, he puts on a serious look. "Do you have any idea the issue your first skill will cause, especially in regards to that person?" He asked me seriously, not with his usual kind smile. Knowing full well what my new Falna has brought.
"....." I honestly heard every other word, still staring at my status sheet. I read it a couple more times just to make sure I'm not seeing things. I take a deep breath, putting the paper on my lap. I took a couple more deep breaths to calm myself down. I make sure to control myself in front of Miach. However, inside, I'm going ballistic. In my head, you can see a mini-me literally setting fire to everything and destroying everything inside, especially the variety of types of game wheels. Literally showing middle fingers to the sky and screaming, 'Curse you, shitty wheel. I'll remember this.' I leave my inner self to his profanity, once again cursing all forms of luck-based gods and goddesses.
I grab the paper one more time to look it over and get ready to have a serious talk with my new patron, God. I just can't help but shake my head. I chuckled while letting out a depressing sigh. "Talk about surprises," I say, questioning my luck once again. Looking at my status sheet, especially my new skill, all I'm left with are mixed feelings.
"Vanadis Odr, huh?" I couldn't help but say, sadly, despite Miach watching me, "What a cruel skill you are."

There done. Miach is our lucky winner who got our resident troublemaker. Who saw that coming? A quick prayer to the Miach and his family for all the trouble Odr is about to bring.
Hopefully Miach, he doesn't drive you up the wall. Ripping out your hair.
Godspeed, Lord Rizz; you'll need it.
Odr finally got his falna, but instead of being thrilled that he can use magic, he's left with mixed emotions and a skill he didn't see coming. I mean, my dear Odr, did you really think you were only going to get away with having only one name that ties you to Freya? Did you?
You probably didn't think that when you asked to have your soul hidden, there would be repercussions. Well, there were, and now it's up to you to see how you use (Vanadis Odr) to its fullest or not at all. Will you unlock all its secrets, or will you deny them? Who knows? You should have just been happy with what you had instead of constantly cursing. Now it's up to you to decide if the skill will bring you fortune or not.
Let's all stay tuned to find out.
Side-Note
First off, I want to say that I took an extra long time narrowing it down. Which familiar Odr is going to be a part of, ever since the previous chapters. I just want to say it wasn't always going to be the Miach family. However, after I kept eliminating families and painstakingly choosing which was best for him, I chose them. Especially story-wise, because I have a few ideas that involve them. One example is the debt and how he's going to handle it. No spoilers, though. I hope you guys can be okay with this. I know a lot of you guys suggested different families, but I'm sticking with my choice, and I hope you guys can be okay with it.
I also want to say sorry for the extra delay. In this chapter alone, I had to rewrite it a couple times because I felt it wasn't making sense connection-wise. So, I took my time to make it work for you my dear readers. I hope to hear what you guys think. Do you think I did it right?
My main goal was to capture the personalities of each Danmachi character and create great dialogue. Also, I had to make sure whatever I mentioned matched the previous chapter for those who pay attention to detail. So I want you guys to tell me, do you think I did well, yes or no. I just know it's going to get harder from one to write the story.
Also, my other obligations cut into writing, and with the holidays coming up, I'm going to try to push for one more chapter. And it's the last one before he goes into the dungeon. It's mainly focusing on the repercussions of his new skill and how it affects him and his familia. Also, how's he going to deal with it.
All I ask from you, my dear faithful readers is to be patient with me even if I'm late with a release. Thank you.
PS-What did you guys think about my first time writing in Third person/Pov. Do you think, I pulled off? Or should I stick to first person.

I'll make the author's notes quick. I have come to realize how hard writers have it, even more day by day. In this chapter alone, I had to rewrite it a couple times because I felt it wasn't making sense connection-wise.
Like I mentioned before, writing is not my strong suit, but I feel like I did this chapter alright and hope to hear what you guys think. My main goal was to capture the personalities of each Danmachi character and create great dialogue. Also, I had to make sure whatever I mentioned matched the previous chapter for those who pay attention to detail. I'm getting less time to write because of work, but I tried to squeeze in a lot of time in between to make sure this chapter finishes before New Year's. So I want you guys to tell me what you think I did well, yes or no. I just know it's going to get harder to write the story sooner or later. However no worries, I'm still writing. All I ask you my dear faithful readers is to be patient with me even if I'm late with a release. Thank you
