Capítulo 6: Invisible Armor, Flash Step

The night was quiet, unnervingly so, as though the war that loomed over Konoha had paused to catch its breath. In the Uchiha training grounds, the faint hum of chakra broke the silence, a low, thrumming pulse that seemed to vibrate through the air.

Uchiha Sogetsu stood at the center of the field, his crimson Sharingan glowing faintly as he adjusted his stance. His hands were raw, the faint sting of torn skin biting against the cold air, but he ignored the pain. Pain was inevitable. Weakness, however, was unacceptable.

His gaze flicked over the training dummies scattered around him. They were scarred and battered, remnants of his earlier attempts to blend precision with power. The scars on his hands told the same story—progress carved into flesh and steel alike.

"It's still not enough," he muttered, flexing his fingers. His tone was calm, measured, but there was an edge of frustration beneath the surface. His thoughts drifted to the battlefield, to the chaos that awaited him. There would be no room for error there. No time to falter.

The next phase of his training was more experimental. Sogetsu wiped his brow, shifting his focus inward. If he was going to survive on the battlefield, he needed more than precise strikes—he needed resilience.

Sogetsu closed his eyes and took a slow breath, centering himself. His mind lingered on the principles of Blut Vene, the technique of the Quincy he remembered from his past life. It had been a marvel of simplicity—reiatsu circulated through the veins to form an invisible layer of defense. It required precision, control, and density. Chakra wasn't reiatsu, but the concept should hold.

Sitting cross-legged in the dirt, he closed his eyes and began to concentrate. His chakra flared to life, coursing through his body in wild, uneven currents. His goal was simple: create a barrier beneath his skin, a dense layer of chakra that could absorb and repel impacts.

The process was agonizingly slow. Chakra was fluid by nature, difficult to condense without losing control. Every time he tried to force it into his skin, it slipped away like water through his fingers. For hours, he tried. Again and again, he pushed the chakra into his veins, his muscles, his very skin, only for it to scatter like water breaking against stone. His jaw tightened, his frustration mounting with each failure.

"Focus," he muttered, his voice cutting through the silence. "Control the flow. Don't force it. Guide it."

The first breakthrough came after what felt like an eternity. Sogetsu narrowed his focus, concentrating on a single point—his right arm. Slowly, carefully, he guided the chakra into a dense layer just beneath his skin. The sensation was strange, like a faint vibration pulsing through his veins. He flexed his fingers experimentally, the layer holding steady.

A faint smile tugged at his lips. "Finally."

Rising to his feet, he turned toward one of the dummies. With a swift motion, he grabbed a wooden staff from the ground and struck his arm with it. The impact sent a dull shock through his body, but the chakra layer absorbed most of the force. His arm barely ached.

"Promising," he murmured, though his tone remained cautious. This was only the beginning.

The next step was testing the technique under pressure. Sogetsu spent the following days refining the flow of chakra, gradually expanding the layer to cover more of his body. Each attempt pushed his limits, the strain leaving him drenched in sweat and gasping for breath.

By the time the sun dipped below the horizon on the third day, his body was a patchwork of bruises and raw skin. The chakra layer was far from perfect—it flickered under prolonged stress, its density uneven—but it was progress.

The stillness of the night was broken by a low voice behind him. "Still at it, Sogetsu?"

He turned to see a group of Uchiha standing at the edge of the training grounds. They were young—his age or slightly older—and clad in battle-worn gear. These were the shinobi awaiting deployment, much like himself. Their faces were a mix of curiosity and amusement as they watched him.

Renjiro, the tallest among them, stepped forward. His smirk was lazy, but his eyes held a glint of challenge. "You've been out here for days. Care to show us what you've been working on?"

Sogetsu regarded him silently for a moment, then nodded. "Fine. Come at me."

The smirk widened. "Don't mind if I do."

Renjiro dashed forward, his kunai flashing in the moonlight. Sogetsu's Sharingan activated instantly, the world slowing as his crimson eyes tracked every movement. He raised his arm, channeling chakra into the layer beneath his skin, and caught the blade with his forearm.

The impact jolted through him, but the chakra layer held. The kunai skidded off, leaving only a faint scratch on his skin. Renjiro's eyes widened, but he recovered quickly, launching a series of rapid strikes. Each one was met with the same result—Sogetsu's Blut Vene absorbing the force with mechanical precision.

When the barrage ended, Sogetsu stood unscathed. Renjiro stepped back, his expression unreadable. "What was that?" He whispered, his face shifting through a cycle of fear and excitement.

Sogetsu didn't respond. He walked off the training ground his body covered by the shadows leaving the group looking on with expressions of awe.

As his mastery of Blut Vene progressed, Sogetsu turned his attention to a new challenge: Shunpo. The technique, as he remembered it, relied on explosive bursts of reiatsu to achieve near-instantaneous movement. In the shinobi world, this translated to using chakra for acceleration and precision.

The concept was simple. The execution was anything but.

Sogetsu began his training with short sprints, focusing on channeling chakra into his legs for added propulsion. The first attempts were disastrous. His body, unused to the sudden bursts of energy, stumbled and faltered, his movements erratic.

"Too much chakra," he muttered, brushing dirt from his clothes. "Control the flow. Release only what's needed."

He crouched low, his gaze fixed on a marker set fifty feet away. Chakra coiled in his legs, the energy thrumming with potential. With a sharp exhale, he released it.

The world blurred around him as he surged forward. For a moment, he felt weightless, his body propelled by the burst of chakra. But the momentum was too much. He overshot the marker, stumbling to a halt several feet beyond it.

"Again."

He tried again, this time channeling the chakra in shorter bursts. The result was smoother—his movements more fluid—but the speed was still lacking. Frustration gnawed at him, but he pressed on, each failure a lesson in control.

Since the last sparring session, Renjiro and his group had begun seeking him out, watching him train and sparring with him. Their presence wasn't exactly intrusive and so he didn't chase them away. Its not like they could learn anything just by watching, even he knew the specifics and he was still having a hard time.

The breakthrough he was seeking came during another sparring session. Renjiro, emboldened by his indulgence, challenged Sogetsu to a rematch. This time, he wanted backup-two more Uchiha waiting for deployment.

The fight was fast and chaotic, the three opponents moving in perfect sync. Sogetsu's Sharingan tracked their movements, his body reacting instinctively. But even with his heightened perception, their combined assault was overwhelming.

When Renjiro's kunai came hurtling toward him, Sogetsu acted on instinct. He channeled chakra into his legs and pushed off the ground, the burst of energy propelling him backward with blinding speed. The kunai sailed harmlessly past him, embedding itself in the dirt.

He landed several feet away, his heart pounding. His Sharingan spun as he replayed the movement in vivid detail. "Shunpo," he murmured, a slow smile spreading across his face. "That was Shunpo."

From that moment, his training shifted into overdrive. He practiced short-distance bursts, gradually increasing the range and precision. Each attempt brought him closer to mastering the technique, his movements becoming faster and more controlled.

By the end of the week, Sogetsu could cover fifty feet in the blink of an eye, his chakra expenditure minimal. The technique was far from perfect, but it was functional—a tool he could refine in the heat of battle.

As the first rays of dawn broke over the training grounds, Sogetsu stood amidst the ruins of his efforts. The dummies were shattered, the ground scorched, and his body was a canvas of bruises and cuts. Yet, his eyes burned with quiet determination.

He had forged his armor. He had found his speed. And he had begun to understand the true power of chakra.

"This is only the beginning," he murmured, turning his gaze toward the horizon. The battlefield awaited, and Sogetsu was ready to meet it.
