Capítulo 8: #8 First Touch
Sam POV
After Taylor stopped the car I got out and was at a certain distance from Pia and Tyler. They were arguing and that boy Tyler has the audacity to ask her what is she doing there? I mean how much more can a boy demean a girl?
I listen to their conversation and I can surely tell that Pia is heartbroken and at the same time struggling to maintain her composure. I feel some unidentified pain in my heart,I don't know why I feel it but it's genuine. May be because I know how it feels to be betrayed,I know how it feels to love unconditionally and yet be heartbroken. I suddenly see Pia running away from Tyler and I am not really surprised to see Tyler just standing there and not going after her. However,I move to go behind Pia but I stop when I hear Tyler talking," Hey Tessa,babe I am coming over,can't wait to see you darling. Love you. Bye" I am so angry at this point that I just want to punch him hard,but right now I decide to run in Pia's direction.
I found her sitting by the wall on the footpath and crying her heart out,I felt hurt seeing her crying. I don't know what to do,So I just hand go towards her and stand right in front of her. I am sure she wished me to be Tyler.
I held out a hand for her and she refused to take it,and asked me,"Are you following me?"
"Ummm…..Kind of." I mutter and I don't know why I said what I said. She decides to give me silent treatment and a disgusted,"All men are the same" look on her face.
"Hey,it's not what you think it is," I tell her.
"I am in no mood to listen,please Just leave." She asks me to leave politely but in a very irritated manner. I decide to leave but something in my heart doesn't let me do it. So,I just sit beside her and introduce myself.
"Hi,I am Sam Roberts"
"So?" She asks me. I am a little surprised that she doesn't know me,not to boost it up but I am a known name and a very known face.
"I actually saw what happened with you and that boy. And I just wanted to tell you…" i try to calm her down but she interrupts me practically Yells at me,
" Why the fuck do you care?Who are you? Some saint? Oh You are wearing a top notch suit,classy shoes and let me guess you just saw what just happened there and saw your chance to get hold of a crying girl and take advantage of me? Listen Mr.Roberts I am done with your kind of men and in fact all the men. I just fucking don't want any stupid men in my life anymore. So,why don't you just get the hell out of here?" I am staring at her in a very surprised yet shocked tone. She has misunderstood me completely.
"Listen miss,Watch you tone" Taylor screams at her. I didn't realise taylor would be following me and here he is lecturing Pia just to get grilled more.
"And who the hell are you to tell me to watch my tone? It's my tone and I will goddamn have it however I like it" She yells at him. He begins to defend but I interrupt him saying,"Taylor,wait for me in the car,would you?"
"But boss…." He tries to speak but I order him,"In the car Taylor. NOW" I almost yell at him. He is shocked to see my behaviour becauseI may be a calm person but I don't really tolerate when people yell at me.
He gets back in the car and I turn towards Pia saying," Now you listen to me miss,first I suggest you take back what you just said because it's all your misunderstanding okay? Secondly,I was here to make sure that you are fine. Thirdly,I care because I know how it feels to be betrayed. And lastly,please don't judge a gender on the basis of one member of it." She looked guilty of what she just said and stayed silent then I got up and headed towards my car when she muttered," I am sorry for yelling at you. I didn't mean to do it. In fact I've no right to yell at you. I am really sorry Mr.Roberts"
"That's Alright miss,but to get your apology accepted,you gotta give me something in return." I tell her.
"Really? But I don't think I would have something to give you anything,given that you own a posh car,top notch suit and classy shoes and a bodyguard,I am sure you have everything anybody would want" She stares at me while claiming all that I have.
"Yes,I do. I want your name in return." I tell her proudly.
"Oh." She exclaims and goes back to giving me silent treatment.
"Ahem….Ahem" I signal her to speak.
"Ummm…. Yeah. It's Pia Baker" She tells me.
"Nice to meet you Miss Baker.Take care. See you around" I tell her.
"Nice to meet you too Mr. Roberts'' She tells me and shakes hands with me and She leaves.I am still standing there realising how soft her hands are and how good it felt. My heart nearly skipped a beat.Also,hearing "Mr.Roberts" never sounded so good.I am yearning to hear it again.
I come back to reality and head towards my car.
"I am sorry Taylor,I yelled at you" I apologise to Taylor.
"That's alright boss" he replies.
"Also,I need to know everything about Pia Baker" I asked him to do it because I want to know her. I feel the need to know everything about her and that's it.
" On it boss" He tells me and we head home.
Pia Pov
I was sitting by the wall when a tall figure approached me. I really wished it was Tyler but it was somebody who I hadn't expected.
It was the same guy from the mall and from the cafe today. I felt he was following me and was here to sympathise with me. I hate when people sympathised with me because it showcased me as a weak person. That man sits beside me and introduces himself as Sam Roberts and I give him an angry glare because I am not really in the mood to have a talk. He tells me he has seen what happened and that makes me more angrier,I take out all my anger on him and he is taken aback at how I just yelled at him. I also happen to yell at somebody who was probably his bodyguard. I felt terrible after knowing how I've clearly judged this man infront of me. He tells me in a very composed but an order kind of tone that he was here just to make sure I was fine. I will be lying if I said I am not taken aback by his gesture,because who really does this kind of thing in today's world?
I apologised to him and I took a good look at him and I knew that he is a businessman and when I say a businessman I mean A very classy,wealthy businessman. In return of my apology he asks me my name and I just find it a little intimidating. It had gotten dark, soI decided to leave from there. I reached my home with a smile on my face and I don't know why I was really smiling. I head on to my mom's room and hug her very tightly and tell her what all happened.
"Are you fine now,honey ?" She asks me.
"No mom,but I am okay and I will be fine soon. Don't worry much" I tell her.
"Oh,you don't have to worry about me. Just take care of yourself and remember,I will always be by your side. Okay?" She tells me.
"Yes mom. Ummmm… mom can I sleep with you today?" I ask her.
"Of course,Darling. You don't have to ask for it ever.Come'' she tells me and I go into her bed and sleep clutching onto her tightly. She is the one person I know who would be there for me always,no matter what. I know she is also a little broken to know about Tyler,but I also know that she loves me way too much to show her sadness to me.
The next day I decide to not go to the office because I feel empty and I just can't feel anything. I go to the bathroom and stand under the shower and just cry and cry. I don't really know what to do,because Tyler was somebody I trusted and what really happened? He just cheated on me. I feel horrible not because I was cheated on but because I doubted myself for somebody who didn't even care for me.
I come out of shower and lay on my bed. I was thinking about yesterday and Sam Roberts crosses my mind and a smile appears on my face. It feels as if not for him,I would have done something worse to myself.
