Capítulo 62: Chapter 62: Did You Sleep with Her?

Mo Chen had barely finished speaking when a sharp, murderous gaze shot toward him.

He immediately changed his tone.

"Alright, alright. Let's settle this—if you win one match, we'll go eat. How's that?"

Eunhwa's cold expression returned to its usual calm. She said just one word:

"Fine."

PvP battles were Eunhwa's specialty: in the academy, no one had ever managed to defeat her!

She had unshakable confidence in this fact.

Though it felt like overkill to challenge Mo Chen, she could no longer care.

She had one goal: to win.

To crush Mo Chen under her heel and make him regret his earlier actions!

Unfortunately, whenever someone sets a flag like that, the outcome is almost never good.

Despite feeling certain of victory, Eunhwa still lost.

And not just lost—she was utterly, devastatingly defeated.

When the battle ended, Eunhwa sat there, stunned.

This… this can't be!

She wasn't usually like this!

It was way too fast.

Mo Chen's expression was a mix of emotions as he glanced at Eunhwa.

He'd thought she was serious, considering her confident attitude, so he had taken it somewhat seriously.

But this… who was to blame?

Probably his own experience.

Years of playing RTS games had honed Mo Chen's skills!

Adding his interest in wartime strategy and tactics, Mo Chen had an arsenal of knowledge on military maneuvers like the three-three formation, guerilla warfare, encirclement, and harassment strategies.

He applied these instinctively, out of sheer habit.

As for Eunhwa's performance?

It was too painful to describe.

After losing 102 consecutive times, Eunhwa's spirit finally broke.

Anis sidled up to Mo Chen, glancing toward Eunhwa, who now looked utterly defeated. In a hushed voice, she asked, "Commander, what's wrong with her?"

"We played a few rounds of a game," he said with a shrug.

Emma had warned him that Eunhwa had a strong competitive streak.

But calling it "strong" was an understatement.

Who could withstand over a hundred consecutive losses?

If it were him, he would've rage-quit, uninstalled the game, and thrown the console out the window.

"A game?" Anis narrowed her eyes at Mo Chen. "What kind of game?"

"What else? A game for adults."

"Adults?"

Anis blinked in confusion.

"You slept with her?"

"Pfft—!"

Mo Chen, who had just taken a sip of water, spat it out in shock.

"You brat, what nonsense are you spouting? Don't overthink things. Shoo, shoo."

Anis chuckled mischievously.

"Well, you didn't explain, so what am I supposed to think? Hey, Commander, where are you going?"

"To bed. To sleep."

"I want to go too."

After a full day of commanding the battle, staying on high alert, and then spending hours playing with Eunhwa, Mo Chen was completely drained.

If he didn't sleep soon, he felt like he might pass out.

Reaching his quarters, Mo Chen stripped off his shirt and collapsed onto the bed, falling asleep instantly.

He wasn't sure how much time had passed when he woke up groggily, his head still heavy.

Feeling parched, he got up to grab a drink from the fridge.

As he reached the living room, he suddenly heard the sound of running water. Startled, he froze.

The noise was coming from the bathroom.

Did I leave the faucet running?

Mo Chen walked over.

When he reached the door, he noticed the light was on inside.

The sound of water splashing echoed from within.

Mo Chen stepped inside and was momentarily stunned.

Through the frosted glass of the shower, he could see a graceful figure: someone was taking a shower.

The warm lighting outlined a silhouette of elegant curves.

The rising steam softly traced delicate and slender lines.

The water from the showerhead cascaded down the glass, revealing the gentle contours behind it—smooth, rounded, and perfectly proportioned.

The frosted glass obscured the details.

Yet this hazy, indistinct view, like a forbidden elixir, exuded an alluring charm, subtly tempting him to linger.

The sound of splashing water brought Mo Chen back to his senses.

He quietly stepped out and carefully closed the door.

He wasn't the type to indulge in voyeurism.

Who could it be?

The thought popped into Mo Chen's mind.

Rapi? Anis? Neon?

As their images appeared in his mind, Mo Chen felt a wave of heat rising within him.

He quickly shook his head.

Don't overthink.

He needed to distract himself.

Remembering the unused battlefield points from the recent fight, he decided to head out and clear his mind.

What Mo Chen didn't know was that after he left, the person in the shower leaned her delicate form against the frosted glass, ear pressed to the door, listening intently.

Hearing his retreating steps, she sighed in disappointment.

Plan failed.

Mo Chen, oblivious to the antics in the bathroom, headed to the site of yesterday's battle.

The Rapture horde had retreated, leaving behind a trail of shattered remains. Scattered Nikke parts were visible among the wreckage.

The scorched earth still smoldered in places, releasing faint wisps of smoke and a harsh, acrid stench of burning.

As he walked, he saw many Nikkes busy clearing the battlefield.

The remnants of the Raptures carried traces of the Punishing Virus, requiring thorough neutralization. Any useful metals or parts were salvaged for reuse.

The harsh conditions of the outpost had instilled in the Nikkes a deep aversion to waste.

When they noticed Mo Chen's arrival, the Nikkes paused their tasks and saluted him.

It wasn't a half-hearted gesture but one filled with genuine respect.

They had all experienced yesterday's battle firsthand.

The sight of the overwhelming Rapture horde—wave after relentless wave—remained fresh in their minds.

The odds had seemed insurmountable. None had dared to believe they would survive.

Yet, under the command of the very man now standing before them, they had not only survived but triumphed.

And it wasn't just a victory—it was a flawless one, with zero casualties.

It was the kind of victory they had never imagined possible.

Even those Nikkes who harbored resentment toward human Commanders couldn't deny their admiration for Mo Chen after this.

Unaware of their complex emotions, he returned their salutes.

These mass-produced Nikkes had it tough.

They performed the most grueling and dangerous tasks yet received the least in return.

"Commander."

A clear, youthful voice called out behind him.

Mo Chen turned to see a petite, soft-featured mass-produced Nikke standing there.

"Yes?"

"This is for you."

In her hands, she held a tiny yellow flower, no bigger than a fingernail.

Mo Chen blinked in surprise, looking down at the fragile gift. It was a stark contrast to the brutal battlefield they stood on.

The flower, though minuscule, carried with it a quiet defiance.

A sign of resilience against the endless war and devastation that had turned the nearby land into scorched and barren earth.

The area surrounding the outpost had been ravaged by countless skirmishes with the Raptures. Any semblance of life, especially vegetation, had long been erased by scorched soil and ash-laden winds.

To see something as delicate as this flower surviving here was nothing short of miraculous!
