Naruko, meanwhile, glared at Naruto and began forming hand signs. Menma substituted himself with a nearby log just as Naruko released a fireball. Menma completed his hand signs, releasing a burst of wind. Both attacks collided and rushed towards Naruto, who smirked.
At that moment, Naruto smelled something peculiar and started to blink rapidly, letting out a sneeze. A very very small ball of purple energy burst from his mouth, rushing towards the fireball. Menma and Noruko watched in shock as the purple energy destroyed their combined attack and headed straight for them. Before it could reach them, Naruto appeared and extended his hand, colliding with the energy of destruction. He stopped it mid-air and shrank it until it disappeared.
Naruto looked at them and said, "I've had enough of this," before vanishing. Menma and Naruko barely had time to blink before Naruto grabbed their heads and knocked them together with such force that they were both knocked out. Kakashi then appeared in front of Naruto.
"Naruto, you didn't need to go that far. You should restrain yourself and not attack your comrades of the Leaf," Kakashi admonished, looking at Naruto as if he had lost his mind.
Naruto shrugged. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Kakashi glared. "You attacked them, Naruto."
Naruto replied, "Well, seeing that you only have one eye, you may not have seen clearly."
Kakashi gritted his teeth. He had been training Menma and Naruko hard, along with Jiraiya and Minato. Rumors were spreading that Menma and Naruko weren't as talented as initially thought, damaging their reputations. Kakashi, who loved Menma and Naruko like his own siblings, hated it when Naruto easily defeated them.
Just as Kakashi was about to say something, Yamato arrived. "That's enough. You shouldn't have gone too far, Naruto, but you did defeat them. I'm impressed."
Kakashi glared at Yamato. "I'll report this to the Hokage. Naruto, you will be punished."
Naruto gave him a dismissive look, indicating he didn't care. Kakashi, seething, decided to take Menma and Naruko back. Sasuke had been watching the battle with his Sharingan, trying to copy Naruto's Rasengan-like technique but was unable to understand it. Naruto smirked at Sasuke, who gritted his teeth in frustration. Though he couldn't copy any of Naruto's jutsus, he had observed the wind technique and planned to try it later.
Kakashi carried Menma and Naruko back to Sasuke, who was visibly angry and claimed they hadn't used their full power, saying they could still use the Kyuubi's chakra and would have won. Naruto ignored their complaints.
Inari also shared his own experiences of suffering, adding to the tension. Finally, both teams prepared to head to the bridge, with anticipation of what awaited them next.
Reinforcements and all that were yet to be discussed since Naruto hadn't mentioned Gato to them yet. Finally, when they arrived at the bridge, they saw the bodies of the bridge builders scattered around. The bridge builder's eyes widened in horror, and he was about to rush to see if any of his friends were alive, but Kakashi put a hand on his shoulder.
"Stay back," Kakashi said, surprised. "It seems Zabuza has recovered."
A voice emerged from the mist surrounding the bridge. "Well, well, Kakashi, it seems you've recovered as well. No matter. This time, you are going down, and the reinforcements you brought from the Leaf won't help you. I've called in some reinforcements of my own."
Kakashi's blood froze as he recognized the voice. Zabuza was talking about a dangerous S-rank ninja. As the chakra finally died down, a figure appeared from the mist. It was none other than Kisame, followed by Zabuza and his apprentice.
Kisame smirked. "Kakashi of the Sharingan. To be honest, I don't care much about you. After all, you only have one eye, and that's just a fake. I know someone with a more advanced version. But it doesn't matter." He looked towards Yamato and the jinchuriki. "Well, well, Zabuza, you didn't tell me the jinchuriki of the Kyuubi were here."
Zabuza smirked. "I didn't know they were the Hokage's children, but I knew they were jinchuriki. I wanted to surprise you."
Kisame's smirk widened. "I always love your presents, Zabuza." Kakashi looked at Yamato. "Yamato, the situation is getting bad. Menma, Naruko, Sasuke, you have to take down that apprentice as soon as possible. Yamato, you handle Kisame. I'll deal with Zabuza."
Yamato nodded. "Sakura, Sai, your duty is to protect the bridge builder. Naruto, you'll assist me from a distance."
Kakashi was about to protest that Naruto was just a genin, but Kisame didn't give them time, launching himself towards Yamato. "I've had enough waiting for my fun."
Yamato started forming hand signs, causing wooden pillars to erupt from the ground, trying to grab Kisame. Meanwhile, Zabuza launched himself towards Kakashi, who also rushed towards Zabuza. Menma and Naruko engaged Haku. Kisame smirked. "Well, it seems I never expected a wood user. Are you a Senju by chance?"
Yamato didn't answer and continued forming hand signs, summoning a wooden dragon from the ground to rush at Kisame. Kisame countered with shark-shaped water blasts, destroying the wooden dragon. Yamato launched himself at Kisame, who started absorbing his chakra with Samehada, smirking as he said, "Well, well, a wood user. I think my leader would like you."
Before Yamato could react, Kisame knocked him out with the speed of an S-rank shinobi. Kisame grabbed Yamato, hoping his leader would be intrigued by this development. Suddenly, Yamato vanished from his hands, and Kisame found his face slammed into the ground with such force that it shattered the surface. Kisame couldn't believe it. One moment he was about to take care of Yamato, and the next, the person he was holding vanished and his face was planted in the ground. He stood up, blood leaking from his nose, but Samehada was already healing him. He looked up to see Naruto, who had pulled Yamato to safety and was smirking.
Naruto taunted, "You look powerful. Not as powerful as those guys, but powerful enough. Maybe you'll be a bit of fun."
Kisame smirked back. "Well, brat, you seem powerful too, but it doesn't matter. You've messed with my prey, and you're gonna pay for that."
Naruto gave him an evil smirk. "Your sword looks good. Maybe I'll keep it after I kill you."
Kisame laughed. "Brat, I like you. Maybe I'll kill you quickly. Otherwise, I'd take my time. But you're gonna die anyway."
Naruto smirked. "Why don't you try?"
Kisame launched himself at Naruto with blinding speed. Naruto released a bit of his power, and both of them collided in the center. Kisame was not using Samehada at the moment, wanting to enjoy the fight. Both engaged in a fierce battle, the force of their blows causing cracks to appear on the bridge. Naruto looked at Kisame. "I'm getting bored of this country, so I'll be taking you away. I can't destroy the bridge; it would be against our mission."
Naruto grabbed Kisame by the face and vanished.....
