Capítulo 11: Kai's Squad [2]

Kai's expression remained unchanged as he twidled with his thumbs on the table of the Academy room.
He was waiting for Iruka to bring in the list of Students so he would get assigned with his group, a group of Ninja that he was going to entrust life to. This was real life not an anime where everything was set according to the plot.
No rather in real life, Anything could happen. He could be sent into enemy territory with little supplies with his group and so he wished to be put up with strong Ninja like Naruko who was a Jinchuriki with next to unlimited reserves of Chakra and Sayuri who was the heiress of the Uchiha clan.
He was a commoner from the Uchiha clan so of course, Her Sharingan would be better than his in terms of versatility. If it went along with the anime, She might as well unlock the two tomoe Sharingan in one go.
He didn't hold any offence to Sakura but a girl that would focus on a crush rather than training and perfecting her Jutsu just made her a drawback, He didn't want to be protecting anyone on missions.
As for Ino, her mind transfer Jutsu was also powerful and opened lots of possibilities but once again, the prospect of protecting someone on missions irked him out a lot.
'I want people that will guarantee my survival, Like Naruko and Sayuri,' Kai thought.

Sakura and the other girls were debating on who would sit next to Kai, with the exceptions being Sayuri who was at a corner near the window, Hinata who was looking at Naruko with twidled thumbs and Naruko who was sitting behind Kai.
Naruko smirked at Kai's back and then leaped over her seat, landing in the golden seat next to Kai.
"Hey," She said to Kai and the black haired Uchiha smiled at her, his eyes showing genuine care and affection.
"How're you?" Kai asked.
"Just a little bit tired... Old man Hokage made me retake my Ninja ID picture about fifty times," Naruko replied, "He said he wanted it to be picture perfect,"
Sakura growled but there was nothing she could do about it, Kai had already started a conversation with Naruko and it looked like he was enjoying it very much. She was very jealous.
"How come Naruko can have a conversation with Kai and make him smile... while I can't even talk to him?" Sakura muttered under her breath.
Kai sighed.
"Wow, That guy sure is a Perfectionist," Kai said and then rested his hand on his chin, "So anyone you want to be grouped with?"
"You," Naruko mouthed and Kai chuckled.
"Same here, I wanna be in a team with you," Kai said.
Naruko felt her cheeks heat up, she hadn't realized that her face had turned completely red.
"Uhh- I don't want to be put with Sayuri though," Naruko said and folded her hands, "She's too... ehm, What's the word?"
"Arrogant?" Kai asked.
"Yeah," Naruko replied, "She thinks just because she's the heiress of the Uchiha clan, She can treat the rest of us like we're shit,"
A beautiful black haired girl stood above the two of them, her black eyes locked to that of Kai's as she clenched her fist.
"I'm arrogant, huh?" Sayuri asked.
Naruko was surprised but Kai's expression turned poker, He had sensed her chakra.
He had a really bad relationship with Sayuri Uchiha, no it had been the original. When her parents had died, killed by her Older brother, Itachi. The original Kai had not lifted a finger to comfort her, instead he had been focusing on mastering the damned Fire ball Jutsu and ever since then, Their relationship had been bad. He had tried to ease the ice on multiple occassions BUT Sayuri didn't accept any of his advances, It was deep seethed hatred and there was no way he could stop her.
"Yeah, you are," Kai replied, He surely had stopped trying to be nice to this Uchiha a long time ago.
"And what're you gonna do about it?" Sayuri asked.
"Nothing, absolutely nothing," Kai replied with a shrug, "I don't want to do anything because I know I can't do anything to change you at all,"
Sayuri's eyes widened before returning to normal, She brought her hand forward aiming to punch the shoulder of Kai but she accidentally slipped and fell right into him, Kai turned around to face her as well and then...

Naruko couldn't believe what was going on, Sayuri and Kai hated each other right... Then why... were they kissing?
Time seemed to stop as Sayuri's lips pressed harder against Kai's lips, as if she liked the taste of them. It only took them a few moments to realize what was going on and they separated instantly.
Sayuri's face was instantly lit up by the realization that she had kissed Kai but Kai was emotionless, like he had kissed many before.
To him, He hadn't expected such a turn. Sure, They hated each other but he at least wanted Naruko to have his first kiss in this world... Not Sayuri.
He face-palmed himself and looked at Naruko. Her face was still riddled with confusion and her eyes locked onto Kai, looking at him with betrayal.
"Hmph," She turned away from Kai but he didn't say anything.

Iruka appeared in the room, the smoke appearing simultaneously and washing over him before phasing away, like it had never been there.
"Alright," Iruka said and then walked to his table, "As of today, You are all Ninjas and to get here, You've faced difficult trials and hardships but that's nothing, What comes next will be far more difficult, Now you are only Genin, First level Ninja. All the Genin will be grouped into three-man squads, each squad will be led by a Jonin, an Elite Ninja,"
"Huh?"
"Huh?"
"A Three man Squad?"
All the girls turned to Kai, their eyes shining with ambition. If they could be joined together with Kai, that meant a lot of time with him... Something people dreamed of.
Meanwhile Kai was rethinking on his Squad.
'Maybe remove Sayuri and place Shikamaru,' Kai thought, 'His Jutsu, the Shadow Possession Jutsu isn't weak... Rather it's very powerful and it has a lot of possibilities for evolution besides the people here are a lot stronger than their anime counterparts so grouping me with Shikamaru and Naruko would help a lot in the progression of our Squad... and besides, If we get to Team 7 by perhaps an incident, It'll be easier to rally our forces together and capture Kakashi,'
"Well someone's got to be in Kai's group, I wonder who," Ino said with a grin.
"I don't know," Sakura said calmly but inwardly her blood was boiling... Her inner spirit shouting.
'Chaa! I'm going to be in Kai's group so stay away from him!' Sakura shouted.
Kai ignored this and instead he prayed.
'Lady luck, Please be on my side,' Kai thought, clasping his palms together.
'I wanna be with Kai... and I don't care, As long as I'm not in a group with Sakura,' Naruko thought as she looked at the ceiling.
"Each squad will have a balance of strength and abilities so that's how we set them up," Iruka said and sighed, "I will now announce the Squads starting from the first in the list, Squad 7,"
Kai widened his eyes, Were the numbers scattered randomly?
"Squad 7... Shikamaru Nara,"
Kai's expectations were instantly raised.
"Naruko Uzumaki,"
Naruko's eyes widened, her lips pursed and her mouth trembling. She didn't want to be on a Squad that Kai was on... because he was the only guy that was her friend, The only person that understood her feelings.
"Kai Uchiha,"
The last name rang through the quiet classroom and Kai actually smiled.
'Lady Luck! You're shining on me!' Kai thought.
'I won't be with Naruko then,' Hinata thought with a deflated expression.
"Next, Squad 8, Hinata Hyuga,"
"Yes sir,"
"Sakura Haruno,"
"What..." Sakura mumbled.
"Shino Aburame,"

The Ninja Academy was a large place, there were multiple buildings far apart and the room where they were meeting Kakashi was located in one of these buildings.
"There's still time," Kai said, "I guess I could go grab some lunch,"
Yes, The Academy had a place where students came to buy different kind of meals to eat.
"Sayuri got grouped with Kiba and a side character from the Hyuga clan," Kai said, referring to a girl known as Rin Hyuga who had not yet gotten her Clan's abilities, The Byakugan.
'But if she's grouped with Sayuri, She's bound to grow stronger besides grabbing two people with Visual Jutsu like the Sharingan and the Byakugan in the same group doesn't actually make it balanced on Kiba's side,' Kai thought and then sighted a lone Hyuga, probably making her way to the Lunch room now wearing a conflicted expression on her face.
Kai stepped forward and smiled at her.
"Greetings Hyuga princess, It's a pleasure to meet you," Kai said.
