Capítulo 2: Catching Tobirama's attention
In the blink of an eye, five years have passed. There is still no news about the whereabouts of Madara, and for the first time, the Ninja World has seen continued, uninterrupted peace in the five years.
After Iwagakure, which formed barely two months after Konoha, villages like Suna, Kiri, Kumo have also emerged in the five biggest countries.
Most of the Samurais, no longer needing to protect the Daimyos and nobles, since the emergence of Ninja Villages, settled in the snowy barren northern lands where not many people lived. Though after finding immense amount of iron some years later, it will become known as the Land of Iron.
Back in Konoha, Tobirama has established a Ninja Academy for every kid in Konoha, with himself as the principle and main teacher.
Kids from all kinds backgrounds from the age of 5 to 15 will learn all kinds of things here. As a scientist himself, Tobirama knew that not being able to fight doesn't necessarily means that a person can't be a good ninja. Maybe they will find some ways to increase crop yield? Maybe they will leaen craftsmanship and produce great weapons?
As a person from Warring Clans Era, he was only taught fighting, and any research he did was aimed at killing more Uchihas.
But he knew that as long as his Brother is alive, the ninja world will be at relative peace. The need for ninjas for fighting will continue decreasing, and maybe they will become ordinary people who have chakra to perform various tasks.
Well, not even Madara can kill his brother. And Hashirama Senju will certainly outlive him because he doesn't take much stress.
That amount of time should be enough to integrate the village.
He had an idea about it. Have clans disperse from their compounds and live mixed with people of all the clans. That will reduce segregation, and lead people to understand each other better. Trying to kill neighbours that you played with in childhood is more difficult than family that lives away. He has noticed this by the relationship Madara and Hashirama developed because they played together as kids. If that event didn't happen, Konoha wouldn't have existed. Madara would have never agreed to forming an alliance with Senju clan if Hashirama wasn't his friend.
Whether anyone believes it or not, among the Senju clan's people who have lived in the Warring Clans Era, aside from Hashirama, he is the one with the least hatred towards the Uchiha.
He believes that, the Uchiha who love fiercely, if integrated into the village the way Senju clan is doing, they wouldn't turn against the village.
Sadly, the village was founded on the principle of no interference with the internal matters of any clan. Even if the Senju Clan is leading the example, others aren't.
They are more emotional than rational. And the only clan that is more rational than emotional, the Nara clan, is too lazy to move once again after settling down, and will only do it if Yamanaka and Akimichi clan agree to it.
Well, things will take a lot of time. His brother, Hashirama isn't one to use force. He thought that it would have been good if Madara was there to help him implement his plans.
But Madara got sad that he didn't become the Hokage and left.
Tobirama realised that when there aren't rational people with strength to back it up, it is better to have a 'Light' with strength, charisma and good nature, like Hashirama. And a 'Dark' with a little lower strength, but willing to do some things the hard way, like Madara.
Ironic that Hokage means 'Fire Shadow'. In a weird way, Madara was suited to be the 'Hokage'. Maybe they should have taken over the entirety of Fire Country instead of just letting the Daimyo off by having his daughter marry his older brother's son.
He sighed. But there is no news of Madara, who can be the only one to somehow be able to convince his elder brother to take over the entire country instead of just creating a village.
Shaking these thoughts, he looked at the documents of the first batch of the academy students.
Heirs of Uchiha and Senju clan are already full-fledged ninjas. But most of the clans have given births to heirs after settling down in the village. It seems they were scared about their kids getting killed as the clashes between Madara and Hashirama turned into something that could wipe out their entire clans in one jutsu.
Hagoromo clan got wiped out because the fire that Madara spit at Hashirama was a Wood clone, and it engulfed their entire clan that was behind.
Kaguya clan, those bloodthirsty lunatics, fled to some island when their clan almost got wiped out because Hashirama made a tree too big in the wrong direction after getting caught in Madara's genjutsu.
Well, he understood why they didn't want to have kids at that time.
The heirs of Hyuga, Ino-Shika-Cho, Sarutobi, Shimura, Kurama, and others, a total of 26 out of 29 clans of Konoha are the same age.
The Samurai clan of Hatake, which previously lived in Land of Lightning and had previously joined the other Samurais all the way to Northern barren lands, abandoned their way of Samurai and joined Konoha, due to not having food and money. Afterall, principles cannot fill stomachs.
That clan's heir is also in this batch huh. Tobirama had clashed with the leader of Hatake clan before. While he didn't have any versatility and only knew swordsmanship, his raw speed was almost as close to his.
If they learned the ways of ninja, they could become very strong.
Aside from him, there were two more individuals he was interested in.
Sarutobi Hiruzen, and Hyuga Hikari.
Despite Sarutobi being a weak clan made of normal ninjas with Fire Style, Sasuke Sarutobi, in particular, was impressive. Even Tobirama's sword of Thunder God couldn't pierce his Adamantium staff.
Sadly though, he bragged about being the best Fire Style user in the world during their fight, and Madara paused fighting with Hashirama for a moment, praised him for being able to counter Tobirama's water style, and then burned him.
Izuna shouted at Madara for breaking the alliance with the Sarutobi clan, and Madara shut him up by his glare.
Even though Izuna's genjutsu was stronger than Madara's, both had the Mangekyo Sharingan, and used Lightning Style more to counter Tobirama's Water Style, one glare from Madara was enough to shut him up.
Anyway, poor Hiruzen's father was killed by Madara, and the only noteworthy thing probably mentioned in the Uchiha records is that his Fire Style was stronger than Izuna.
And well, Izuna's speciality wasn't Fire Style. He was more diverse and focused on speed like Tobirama.
This Hiruzen kid probably has a lot of resentment towards Madara.
And then, there was Hyuga Hikari. Her father died protecting members of Branch family, which included his younger brother. And then, those people that he protected were executed by the current head, their father. That included his own son. And now, he was raising his granddaughter, since her mother died during childbirth, grooming her to be a heir.
That was weird for the lunatic Hyuga clan. For a clan that enslaved their own family, grooming a female heir was very unexpected.
Even Senju and Uchiha clan killed the female kids of the clan heads before Hashirama and Madara took over the reigns. Tobirama suspected that there is no way that even though the previous clan heads had 4 kids each, how is it possible that there wasn't even one girl child? Even though the probability of a kid being girl or boy is roughly 50-50.
No matter how much he thought about it, he couldn't understand how the Hyuga clan is doing this, especially under the clan head who killed his own younger kid because his older brother protected him.
Well, knowing them is the only way to find out.
As the clock struck 8, he entered the classroom, filled with hundreds of children of Konoha.
Hmm, he will need to ask the Daimyo for more funding. Sustaining this many kids' ten years of education for free will be difficult in the long run.
With the amount of money the Daimyo has, it is certainly possible though.
But suddenly, his eyes darted towards a Hyuga. He couldn't sense her chakra, at all.
He prided himself to be the best sensor after Hashirama. But, how is it that he can't sense even a single bit of chakra from her!?
"Good morning class. You can call me Tobirama-sensei. From today onwards-"
Tobirama maintained her composure and started the class, but his attention was occupied by the strange Hyuga.
Maybe, that's why she is the heiress of the Hyuga clan?
Just who is Hyuga Hikari?
