Capítulo 7: Team Placement
Naruto moved around the apartment excited about the day, "Nee -chan, I am ready to go."
Tanna hummed, "Your head band?"
Naruto tapped the headband, "Set and secured."
Tanna grabbed her bag, "Lunch box?"
Naruto held up a sealed scroll, "Right here, in this scroll."
Tanna smiled nodding, "Shuriken and Kunai?"
Naruto, "On person."
Tanna, "Perfect, let's go then."
Naruto grinned as they walked through the streets of Konoha side by side talking about future teammates and missions. Tanna was listening with half a ear as she observed the streets slowly getting filled with people going to and fro. It was still early morning and not many people were out and about yet. They reached the Academy building and Naruto waved Tanna goodbye as he saw Sasuke with Itachi. That was one of the biggest change between the manga, anime and this world she ended up in. Itachi was now part of the Konoha Hunter Corp. It was one of the few things that worried Mikoto but she did not stop her son from following his own desires and dreams.
Tanna, 'I am surprised Naruto took to sealing so easily. But then again it could be an Uzumaki trait.'
Tanna smiled at her fellow teachers as she settled down in her post and checked the routine for the new semester. She noticed Sarutobi Konohamaru had joined the Academy with the new batch of students and Iruka was heading to the class of Graduated students. Tanna let her mind wander as she left for her first class and was greeted by the students. She thought about the differences from the Uchiha clan surviving and becoming bigger and expanding, to other clans following their footsteps to expand. It started with the Akimichi who was already at the edge of Konoha like the Uchiha was because of thier profession.
This was followed by the Yamanaka and Nara clans which also coincided with multiple orphans being adopted out of the orphanages. The Hyuuga, Aburame, Inuzuka, Sarutobi etc clans caught on to what was happening and joined in making Tanna wonder about this world. It was not the strangest thing, she supposed, clan rivalry did exist, they were human after all but now there were many Yamanakas, Naras, Sarutobi and one Hatake etc who joined the Shinobi Academy. It was quiet the change, she was not expecting a younger Hatake to appear but then again this was a real world with real people who are obssesed with one upping each other.
Tanna sweat dropped remembering a few incidents, 'Just look at Mikoto and Yoshino, they enjoy competing to be the best teacher in the literature department. They turned a simple picnic into a cooking competition.'
A timid voice called out, "Tanna - Sensei.... "
Tanna, "Ah, yes, Hatake - san?"
Hatake Namura, a young girl with silver hair answered, "Just Namura please, Sensei. Could you explain the supply and demand cost, again please?"
Tanna, "Of course, Namura - san. How about an example to understand it better? Let's see, yes, it is almost time for seasonal melons to appear right? I will use that as an example for demand and how supply works and affects cost."
Namura smiled sitting down, as she listened to the lecture by the only other civilian Sensei in the Academy. Yoshino - Sensei was the other one and aside from these two the rest had been ex - kunoichis or taking a break from kunoichi work. Namura had been very surprised when Hatake Kakashi, their very young clan Head had decided to adopt her. Her parents had been civilians despite being part of the Hatake clan, and they mostly focused on the business side of the family only for them to be targeted by a rival company and killed. Namura was sure she would be sent to the orphanage only for Kakashi - dono to sweep in and adopt her on the spot.
She had been speechless and then the next thing she knew she was being ushered to the main compound to live in. Kakashi - dono had after a few days sat her down and explained what was happening, apparently orphaned kids were going missing. To be more specific orphans that belonged to the civilian side of a shinobi clan. That had set Namura on the edge and she had asked Kakashi if her parents were actually killed intentionally. Kakashi - dono had a grim look on his face but the silence spoke more than words and she requested to be trained so she would not be a burden and taken advantage of. Kakashi assured her she was not a burden and learning self defense to protect herself would no doubt be best.
Kakashi made his expectations clear, she was free to choose between becoming a kunoichi or staying civilian. He just wanted her and his non - shinobi clan members to be safe, a sentiment she understood. Tanna Sensei was an interesting person to Namura and she wanted to get to know the civilian that her Head trusted. Perhaps they would be getting the Hatake Lady sooner than later, that is if none of the other ladies poached her for their own clans. Namura was not blind or stupid, she could see through the many attempts they made to get Tanna - Sensei to join their clan. Thankfully Tanna - Sensei was either oblivious or did not take the attempts seriously, which also meant her Clan Head's chance was pretty low too.
Namura ●︿●, 'You can do it Kakashi - dono, I am rooting for you.'
Kakashi who was at the Hokage tower sneezed, "What the?"
Hiruzen, "Is everything alright Kakashi - kun?"
Kakashi, "Maa ~ Maa ~ Everything is fine, I think my little outoto is thinking about me is all."
Shisui snorted, "Sure!"
Tanna stopped as the bell rang, "That's it for today and as for homework. I want each of you to take a product and write about the reasons for it's demands and cost of production. I will expect it to be turned in next week during economics class."
"Yes Sensei."
Tanna smiled, "Great, see you kids next class which is language class, three days from now."
Namura murmured, "She is always smiling and happy."
Moegi who was sitting behind her agreed, "I agree and she is pretty too."
Konohamaru, "Naruto - nii told me about her when he babysat me before. She is cool."
Yamanaka Io joined the conversation, "Ino - nee told me about her too. She thinks Tanna - Sensei is really cool and has an awesome fashion style."
Namura, "I mean, did you see her clothes? I have not seen that design of shirt and pants before."
Haruno Tadachi, "I think it was tailored rather than brought. It is different and looks practical. If it was made with shinobi materials I bet we could fight easily in it."
Hyuuga Tsukiko looked contemplative, "I think so too. Too bad she is a civilian with no chakra coils. I bet she would have been really awesome as a Jounin Sensei."
Mikoto who was walking by heard the chatter, 'As expected these batch of kids like her too.'
Tanna noticed the young shinobi hopefuls were scattered across the Academy grounds in groups, 'Right they have to wait for their Sensei to pick them up after lunch.'
Sakura, "Tanna - Sensei!"
Naruto, "Over here."
Sasuke, "Please join us."
Tanna blinked, 'Okay, I was not expecting to see them today but then again I am not complaining.'
Tanna smiled, "I suppose you are a team then?"
Sakura nodded, "Yes, though I was hoping to get on a team with Kuroda - kun. But I suppose I do understand why I was not put in a team with him. There is a chance we could be emotionally compromised."
Naruto pat her back in comfort, "I am just happy we did not end up with Sai or Shin. I mean Shin is fine but he is a bro - con."
Sasuke sighed, "Sai has no filter. And I thought I was the awkward one in the Academy."
Sakura sighed as well, "I kind of pity Kuroda - kun. He got Sai - san. I hope Sai does not drive him up the wall."
Tanna blinked at the dynamics she was seeing in front of her, 'I was not expecting and yet expecting this. Huh! They are getting along unlike in the anime and manga. Well, I am glad one thing remained the same though. They are Team Seven.'
Tanna held her lunch box up, "Let's eat outside. The breeze is really nice and cool today. Say who is the third member in his team?"
Naruto hummed in a thinking pose, "I think it was Inuzuka Kiba's younger cousin Inuzuka Jotaro."
Sasuke, "I believe they might become Kenjutsu specialists."
Sakura nodded, "Agreed! All three of them have really great marks in Kenjutsu."
Tanna nodded biting into her rice ball, "I see, it will be interesting to watch all of you grow the next few years. Also, Sakura - chan, if Sai - kun does drive Kuroda - kun up the wall then you can sooth him by reminding him he just needs to worry about it till Chunnin."
Sakura blinked, "Chunnin? Oh! Right, you are right. After Chunnin we can either go on a new team like Iruka - Sensei did or get a two man team."
Tanna smiled nodding, "Correct!"
Sasuke frowned, "It will be different for me since I plan on becoming ANBU. Working in a team is a must."
Naruto, "I think Hunter Corp members work alone."
Tanna, "Yes, that is correct. I suppose you have decided on the paths you wish to follow?"
Sakura nodded, "I am going to train hard to become Chunnin and focus on Iryō Ninjutsu, Taijutsu and assist the teachers at the Academy. My request to become a future assistant has been accepted I just need to become a Chunnin. I am already an active apprentice - nurse at the Hospital."
Naruto, "Nice one Sakura - chan, I am focusing on Fuinjutsu, Ninjutsu and of course Taijutsu. I am also studying diplomatic relations. Pervy Hokage has agreed to let me attend and observe a few meetings in between our missions."
Sakura deadpanned at him, "You will never call Hokage - sama with respect, will you?"
Naruto put his nose up sniffing haughtily, "I will when he stop reading that Pervy orange book. Honestly, I blame him for corrupting Kashi - nii. He is also addicted to that book."
Sasuke snorted patting his shoulders, "Sure Naruto. I was going to focus on becoming part of Konoha Police Force but now I want to become ANBU. I am going to focus on Kenjutsu, Taijutsu, Ninjutsu and work on case study. I have talked to the older Officers and they agreed to give me a chance once I become Chunnin."
Tanna nodded as they finished lunch, "Good to hear you three. Remember to pace yourself okay? The goals you are going for are for a very physically demanding career."
Sakura smiled, "We will Sensei."
Naruto gave a thumbs up, "Do not worry about us nee - chan."
Sasuke closed his bento box, "We will be fine."
Tanna heard the ring of a bell, "Welp! There goes the bell. We should head inside. I believe you have to meet your Senseis now."
Sasuke, "Hn."
Naruto, "Yeah, wonder who it is, they did not mention who it will be."
Sakura, "Apparently it is a surprise."
Tanna, 'Wait a minute! Was it like that in the series?'
Naruto, "By the way, Sakura - chan. I was planning on teaching you the leaf bunshin jutsu."
Sakura's eyes widened, "Really?"
Sasuke, "I am teaching Kuroda - nii, my fire bunshin jutsu. So, it is only fair you have a clone jutsu of your own too."
Naruto, "Plus, you can make multiple clones with this compared to the normal bunshin as you are using the chakra already present in the leaves to make clones. You require less amount of chakra so if you can make three bunshin then you can make nine leaf bunshin."
Sakura, "Oh! Thank you. I do not have anything that precious though."
Sasuke, "You are planning on becoming an Iryo - nin right? That means you will have multiple chances to return the favor."
Sakura, "Right! I am going to study and train really hard to become one of the best Iryo nin out there. You can count on me."
Tanna, "That's the spirit. Now, we are back to your class. Best of luck, you three. And remember, if you want to rant or talk then I will be in the office."
Naruto grinned while Sakura smiled and Sasuke smirked as she left and the three of them sat in the middle bench. In front of them was Ino, Shikamaru and Chouji while below them was Kiba, Hinata and Shino. On the bench above them was Kuroda, Sai and Jotaro who was holding Sai's mouth close to keep him from pissing Kuroda off. On the bench above theirs was Shin with Nara Kuroki and Shinichi who was looking at his twin with pity. Ino was talking about their possible Senseis while Sakura made a few guesses as well though she was unsure of who they would get.
Sakura, "I just hope we do not get a weirdo."
Naruto, "Shh! Don't jinx it Sakura - chan."
Sakura closed her mouth with her hand, "Oh no! Oops!"
Kurenai walked in at that moment and called for Team Eight to meet her at the park in three minutes. The closest park was seven minutes away, making Hinata, Shino and Kiba scramble to run after her while saying goodbye to their friends. After Kurenai left, Asuma entered and called for Team Ten ordering them to follow him in his gruff voice though he acknowledged Naruto. Naruto wished them best of luck, and a few minutes after they left Hyuuga Megumi appeared asking for Team Eleven making Kuroda, Sai and Jotaro follow him. The next one was Mitarashi Anko who called for Team Fifteen which was Shin, Kuroki and Shinichi, they apparently had the chance to become apprentices at T & I.
Sakura had black lines on her face after a few hours, "Where is our Sensei?"
Naruto was reading one of his scrolls, "They are probably some weirdo."
Sasuke was juggling kunai, "Hn."
Sakura sighed turning a page in her human anatomy book, "I regret opening my mouth about getting a weirdo. We did end up with one."
Naruto, "Let's prank them."
Sasuke, "Serves them right for being late."
Sakura snickered as she helped set up the prank for her future possible Sensei who was more than two fucking hours late. She kept an eye out while Naruto along with Sasuke set up a very interesting looking trap to catch their Sensei off guard. They waited for another two hours playing cards which was in one of Naruto's Seals and waited which munching on a few snacks. Much to their surprise it was Hatake Kakashi who appeared giving them an eye smile amused by their reactions. Sasuke pointed, Naruto spluttered while Sakura was speechless as they stared at the silver haired Jounin.
Kakashi chuckled, "Meet me at the roof."
Naruto finally spoke, "Nii - san, get back here."
Sasuke, "I can't believe you made us wait for so long."
Sakura snapped out of her stupor, "Hey, hey, wait for me."
Kakashi snorted, 'No regrets!'
Naruto appeared at the roof top, "Kashi - nii!"
Sasuke was behind him, "Seriously? Did you just troll us?"
Sakura, "You are something else."
Kakashi, "Well, let's get this over with, shall we? Introduction first! Name, likes, dislikes, hobbies, dreams and goals."
Naruto, "You first Sensei. You made us wait long enough."
Sasuke, "Hn."
Sakura nodded, "Yeah."
Kakashi, "Maa ~ Maa ~ If that is what you want. My name is Kakashi Hatake, I have many likes. I dislike few things but it can sometimes increase. You are too young to know my hobbies and my dreams and goals are a work in progress. Ladies first."
Sakura huffed, "My name is Haruno Sakura and... "
Sakura got a mischievous look in her eyes, "I have hobbies which are considered boring by most. I like many things and dislikes are negligent. My dreams and goals are to become successful."
Kakashi looked amused, "Right then, you next Naru - tan."
Naruto who was snickering sat up straight, "I am Uzumaki Naruto. I like many things and have a few dislikes. My hobbies will soon turn into my dreams and I can't wait."
Kakashi, "Alright Sasu - chan. You next."
Sasuke gave Kakashi a look but started, "I am Sasuke Uchiha. I don't have hobbies and my dreams and goals are to succeed with a bang. I do not have any particular likes or dislikes."
Kakashi clapped his hands, "Okay then, ready for your final test? Meet me at five o'clock at training ground seven. Jaa ~"
Naruto deadpanned, "Anyone else get the feeling we are going to get babied by him even if we passed the test."
Sasuke, "You mean more than we already are?"
Sakura, "Trying to make him take us seriously is going to be difficult, isn't it?"
Naruto, "Yep, in all the years I have known him, we have been treated like helpless kids by him. Even after we started learning and training for the Academy."
Sasuke, "Yeah, I remember he was always making us take breaks while training too. I do not mind the care, of course but it was a bit much."
Sakura, "We should try to change his mind tomorrow then. That might be the one chance to make him take us seriously enough to train us."
Naruto, "We need to plan. Come over to my compound. We are having a sleepover and planning."
Sasuke and Sakura nodded then left to inform their families about their plans on strategizing for the test. Mebuki allowed Sakura to go saying she and Kizashi would be visiting Grass on the behalf of the merchant guild. Sakura wished them good luck and left towards the Uzumaki compound meeting Sasuke by the compound gate. Sasuke was talking to Shisui who was talking animatedly about his own team that he would test tomorrow to see if they qualify. Sakura clenched her bag as she greeted Sasuke and Shisui who waved and left the two of them to enter the premises.
Naruto grinned, "Guys, you made it. Come on in. Nee - chan is making baba ganouch to go with soft sweet bread for dinner."
Sasuke perked, "The one with tomatoes?"
Naruto opened the door, "Yes, that one."
Sasuke, "Her tomato recipes are to die for and can give the Akimichi a run for their money."
Sakura and Sasuke grinned as they got comfortable in the decently sized apartment Naruto shared with Tanna. Tanna warmly welcomed the two guests and told them to get comfortable while she prepared the dessert for the night. Tanna let them have their sleepover in the sitting room area as it was large and had space for them to plan out their tactics. Tanna smiled watching them plan out ideas and tactics to catch Kakashi off guard, the man had known them for years now. Which meant he knew how they thought and what they would plan so it would not be easy to counter him. Tanna looked outside and huffed as she left a plate by the kitchen window.
Tanna poked her out of the window, "You coming in?"
Kakashi eye smiled, "Nah! Those kids are having fun planning. I will see them tomorrow. Thanks for the dinner."
Tanna, "Sure, good night."
Tanna returned inside only to see the three of them hunched over papers, "Remember to sleep on time. All that planning will be a waste if you get disqualified for being late."
Naruto, "Got it nee - chan."
Sakura, "Do not worry about us Sensei."
Tanna, "You can call me Tanna from now, you know?"
Sakura shook her head, "You will always be Sensei to me. My favorite Sensei."
Tanna, "You are sweet. Well, I am off to sleep. Good night."
Naruto, "Good night! Now I was thinking of booby trapping the trees."
