Capítulo 42: Kentou
A chase was underway through a dense forest, kunais flying in a certain direction where a heavily injured man was fleeing with all his might. The man was missing an arm, and in the other hand, he held a katana broken in half.
Kentou breathed heavily as he flickered away, being pursued for days, but there was still hope for him as he approached the borders of the Fire Territory. There was a small group of mysterious ninjas ahead.
Reflecting on days prior, Kentou was returning from the Land of Samurai after quelling a small rebellion incited by unknown individuals. Coincidentally, one of his family members was targeted by this rebel group.
After calming the situation, Kentou spent some time with his family before eventually returning to Konoha. However, during his journey, he was attacked by the pursuing ninjas. Kentou fought against the group, initially comprising 12 Jounin-level ninjas, incapacitating half of them.
In the present moment, he was being pursued by six ninjas. Kentou had several kunais embedded in his body, most of them poisoned, but he had quickly detoxified himself. However, healing in this situation was impossible.
"Where did these ninjas come from? Damn it, none of them used any exclusive jutsu from any country. Whoever they are, they are determined not to reveal themselves," Kentou muttered as he approached the outskirts of Konoha. He could already sense a patrol of Konoha ninjas up ahead.
But at the last moment, he heard, "You won't escape, Kentou! Ittoryu!" As soon as Kentou heard the first word, he tightened his grip on his katana, knowing that the pursuing ninja was a samurai from the Land of Iron, or at least used to be. Kentou leaped, turning his back and also shouting, "Ittoryu!" The two voices echoed in unison.
"Ittoryu - Sagi-Kiri!" Two flashes of blue light flew towards each other as the sound of metal breaking against metal resounded. The ninja who had launched the attack against Kentou was a few meters behind him, holding a katana that slowly broke in half, and the mysterious ninja fell to the ground.
On the other side, Kentou dropped his sword, now without a blade, and fell to one knee, clutching his stomach where blood flowed from a new wound. He looked ahead as the other five ninjas arrived, witnessing the scene of the battle. "Damn, I'm getting too old to be struck by something like this," he muttered, feeling his body faltering. He began to fall to the side, but not before a red light appeared, thrown towards the mysterious ninjas.
"Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!" And with that, Kentou collapsed to the ground.
Less than a kilometer away, Ryo was training in the forest, which was always more secluded than usual. At this moment, he heard an explosion in the distance. "What was that?" He didn't know of any events happening at this moment in history.
Nevertheless, he activated the radar ability of the golden coin, setting it to 7 waves, sensing up to 700 meters. In his mind, he saw the image of Konoha ninjas jumping from one location to another, towards the outskirts of Konoha. Some of them were already ahead. Ryo then started to flicker towards the incident.
However, in the midst of flickering, a hand appeared, stopping Ryo mid-air. "Don't get involved in this. The Konoha ninjas are already in action," the Anbu said, restraining Ryo from advancing towards the combat.
Ryo once again sent out the 7 sensory waves to assess the situation. Although it caused him pain in the head, he managed to see the image: two people lying on the ground. One was dead, and the other, who was on his knees, fell to the ground with his chest facing the sky. Konoha ninjas fought against the unknown ninjas, who, upon seeing Kentou fall, began to retreat.
Ryo looked at the Anbu, saying, "There's a wounded person! I can help! Let me go!" He then performed a hand seal, perfectly executing the Mystical Palm jutsu. "I'm basically a medical ninja already! Any team of medical ninjas will take time to arrive!"
The Anbu sighed, knowing what Ryo was capable of. Ryo sent out 7 sensory waves again to assess the situation. When he saw the image in his mind, he realized that the man lying on the ground was missing an arm. Ryo looked at the Anbu, ignoring the pain in his head. "I think I know the man lying there; he's one of ours."
Ryo didn't want it to be Kentou, but there was a small chance it could be him. Unable to pass by an Anbu without permission, Ryo argued with him. He could save the man even if it wasn't Kentou, but if it was his sensei, Ryo couldn't just stand by.
"Take me there then! I can't let someone die like this in front of me! Especially if I know them!" The Anbu, sensing the urgency, agreed to accompany Ryo, but warned him sternly, "I'll go with you, but if I tell you to flee, return to the village immediately. I won't tolerate disobedience."
The Anbu then held Ryo and flickered towards the site of the battle. It took only a few seconds to arrive. The Anbu released Ryo, who stumbled a few times as he ran towards the body of the armless man lying on the ground. Upon reaching him, Ryo fell to his knees in front of the middle-aged man, whom he recognized clearly.
"No, no, no, no. Kentou-sensei!" Ryo could see that Kentou's arm was placed over a large wound, in addition to numerous other injuries all over his body. Seeing this, memories flooded Ryo's mind, with images of Sae's body lying before him. Ryo began to breathe heavily and rapidly, realizing he might lose someone else before his eyes.
All of this transpired in a fraction of a second in Ryo's mind. It was as if the world had slowed down as he noticed movements in Kentou's chest. "He's still alive!" Ryo thought quickly as he retrieved a scroll from the side of his leg, opening it to reveal a kit that fell to the ground a large white cloth with some medical equipment.
Ryo put gloves on his hands and a mask on his face, speaking with a strong voice, "Beginning emergency surgery!"
