Sonnis at first felt odd among the nymphs. When it was time to rest they all sank into their own trees, leaving her out in the open exposed. Feeling nervous she settled at the base of one of them as far away as possible. Naturally though that nymph and a couple others came forth to aid Sonnis.
They told her that it was unlikely that anyone would come to this area and using there magic they created a small hollow for Sonnis to sleep in. Grateful she thanked them, which seemed to surprise them somewhat.
Sonnis cozied into the hollow shivering slightly. She wished she had something to sleep on or with. Far down below she would have created a small fire or slept within a river where she felt at home. Here she was far away from the water and her home.
When the sun rose she was awaken by the other nymphs. They seemed unsure of what to do with her. The first thing they pointed to her was her dressing. They offered her dressings similar to there own, which were relatively plain with small sashes. Feeling it was best to try to fit in until she could sneak away Sonnis accepted. But instead of putting them on she went to where she found a tiny pond and wetted herself using her magic to force her clothing to match the garment.
When she returned the others seemed a bit more at ease. One of them, who did not even give her a name promised to bring her some of Feia's material so she would be warmer sleeping.
Sonnis was not entirely sure of what was expected of her as a nymph and a guest. So she followed the others.
Soon she learned that the nymphs acted as hand maidens to the goddess's. A few went to the castle to see to the Queen. One or two went to work on maintenance of the garden. A few went with Feia, including Sonnis.
Feia barely acknowledged them seeming mostly focused on her own work. She sent them to and fro, gathering dyes and materials. Sonnis resented being treated this way and so perhaps spoke a bit harshly. Feia looked offended at such treatment. When the other attendants saw this they shoed Sonnis away.
Sonnis found herself back in the garden where they all slept.
While sitting there feeling lost she heard footsteps.
"Are you the one who saved our cousin?"
Sonnis looked up at Enisia and nodded.
"We would like to have you to dinner with us tonight." Enisia said, "as a thank you."
"Of course lady Enisia." Sonnis said quietly, she was getting rather tired of all this bowing and respectful speech. How did the nymphs do this day in and day out.
Enisia seemed ready to walk away but paused. "I would be cautious." She said more quietly, "my father can be a strong headed."
Sonnis knew this, but thanked Enisia nonetheless.
When the other nymphs returned they had all heard of Sonnis's invitation and insisted on helping to prepare her for the occasion.
One combed her hair and hung it with small flowers.
Sonnis did one more thing on her way. She dipped her hands in the water and used to magic to make her clothing more stylish, she was a goddess after all.
Rissa was waiting for her at the doorway.
"After tonight you shall be able to leave I think." She said.
