Onicent was prepared to have to pamper Airabella back into a passive mood. But she surprised him by being unusually sweet, when she first arrived she had briefly yelled at him. Soon enough though they were sitting in silence at the table, Onicent had made sure all of Airabella's favourite foods were present at the meal. Airabella didn't take issue to sharing the bed.
Onicent had planned a lot of activity's in hopes of making Airabella happier with him. But after a couple days of her calm behaviour he became more careless. In his mind he had done his duty as a husband, and now he was free again. Of course he wanted desperately to visit Vya. That was what Airabella was counting on.
It had been sickening for her to have to pretend nothing was wrong. But her patience paid off well, Onicent didn't suspect that she knew the truth. Soon enough he was off on an important trip one afternoon. He had assured Airabella he'd return before sundown. She had agreed, going as far to bat her eyelashes at him. She figured on revenge. She dressed in a cloak and followed him into the forest. Onicent was so distracted he didn't notice her.
Onicent had reached where Vya lived, she saw him and her face lit out in delight. She folded herself into his arms and they sank to the grass together.
Airabella watched in growing fury. Onicent was breaking his vow, for that he'd pay dearly. But Airabella decided the girl he was with would pay more. She watched, sickened, as the two flirted so easily. Onicent gave Vya a gift, and then sat down to eat with her.
Tears trickled down Airabella's cheeks, the girls name was Vya. Had she herself been nothing to Onicent? She was Onicents showpiece, but he was sweeter to Vya then he was to her. Her thoughts turned murderous. Yet she stayed in her shadows, watching and waiting.
Meanwhile Onicent and Vya were enjoying the sun and each others company.
"Take me back to your home," Vya said.
Onicent stopped short and giving her an endearing smile shook his head, "no my Vya."
"But why?" She asked. Onicent cut her off with a kiss.
Airabella stood there frozen.
At long last the two broke apart. Onicent promised to return soon, and then he left. Vya wandered back to her home tree, being a nymph she was connected to it. She was tired from her day and allowed herself to merge with the tree.
Airabella had followed her and was delighted to find the perfect revenge. Airabella took an axe in her hand and approached the tree, a glint in her eye.
It was early evening when Airabella returned home. She came with bundles of flowers and one shiny large apple. She took the flowers and put them in her garden, saving a couple for inside, and then entered the castle. Airabella walked the hall and then reached her throne, she placed the apple within a chest and then walked to the dining hall. Deep inside the chest something stirred.
