"Was she sent back?"

Tang Yuxin was idly flipping through a book, unsure how many words had actually entered her eyes or had been recorded in her brain. Probably not a single word, for her mind was in disarray. How could she possibly focus on reading?

"Yes, she was sent back."

Gu Ning stretched out his hand to place it on top of Tang Yuxin's head. "Why are you not asleep yet?"

"The night is long, and sleep eludes me."

Tang Yuxin snorted. With such a heavy heart, how could she possibly fall asleep?

Gu Ning said helplessly, "You're the one who brought her here, what's the matter? If I didn't send her back, were you planning to keep her for meals?"

"She wants to eat my food?" Tang Yuxin tossed the book away, hugged her arms, and with a cold side glance, she looked askance at Gu Ning.

"Does she have the face for it?"
