The scene started. General Rong moved swiftly and her lithe, agile body was like the whoosh of the wind. She held a bloody sword as she looked one last time towards the lifeless body of the emperor. His throat had been slit and fresh blood was still spluttering out of the wound.

A sinister smile suddenly plastered across her face and then relief. She had been waiting for this very moment all of her life and now that everything was done, the relief was quickly replaced by sorrow.

For years, her life had been stilled because of this one reason and it had taken her blood sweat and tears to finally see what she was seeing yet it made her think of her parents. Just like the emperor who was lying in a pool of blood, this must have been how her parents looked like that day.

The whole Gu Mansion had been invaded and not even the dog was spared. It was said that blood flowed like a river and eventually the Gu master's head was placed on a spike for everyone to see.
