Jack and the others followed Director Dos away from the Hiran family estate.
As they walked, Jack noticed that Dos's hands were trembling the entire time, clearly showing his unease.
Once outside, Jack finally understood what was happening. Dozens of police cars lined the street, and hundreds of law enforcement officers surrounded the area. The sheer number of officers made Jack's scalp tingle. Dos had truly risked everything to get him out today.
Dos took out a cigarette, and Jack quickly lit it for him. Taking a deep drag, Dos looked at his waiting subordinates and spoke, his voice steady but heavy:
"I know everyone here has their own life to worry about. Remember this day. It was my decision to bring you here. If someone else leads you in the future, don't hold a grudge. That's just how things are. I've been director long enough. No regrets."
The officers looked at him, their eyes brimming with emotion. Dos's words sounded like a farewell.
