Jack sat back in the car, and he gazed out the window when his phone buzzed in his pocket.
He glanced at the screen, seeing Cherry's name. With a sigh, he swiped the screen to answer.
"Jack," Cherry's voice came through, "I almost forgot to mention something important."
He raised an eyebrow, a little surprised. "What's that?"
"I've arranged for you to have a traditional doctor's identity. It's an official Marin Traditional Medical Association ID. You'll be recognized as a legitimate practitioner," she explained smoothly. "I'll send the documents to your room later today."
Jack sat up straighter, his curiosity piqued. He had a vague idea of what Cherry was getting at, but the details were still a bit hazy. "A doctor's identity?" he echoed, his voice a little more cautious. "What exactly do you mean by that?"
