Capítulo 49: They Never Stay Low!!!

*A remote location, Russia*

"Shit, it wasn't supposed to go like that." A woman cursed under her breath as she hid behind a crate. 'It was not supposed to go like this. Kidnapping them should be easy, I just planned, unless... I was always being monitored!' Her eyes widened when the revelation hit her. She heard another explosion and ran towards an adjacent corridor, but a sword pierced her just as she turned around.

The woman looked up at her assailant, to see two blue eyes with a red scar, the ones she dreaded most in seeing again. "Should have stayed low Alexandra, you really should have" Alexandra heard this as her body ignited in a black fire with a green hue, unlike hellfire, which had a red hue. Alexandra screamed from the pain that came straight out of her soul as she burned to nothing.

The assailant sheathed his sword and disappeared from the place in a blink

*Cave of Mysteries, Westchester*

In a flash, the assailant, Enigma appeared in his hideout.

[Well, that's the last of hand... for now, we can't say if someone again takes the mantle.] Oracle gave her opinion and Alex hummed in agreement. It's been over half a month since the Vampire incident after which he and the Defenders are taking it easy for a while. Which in this case Alex is fooling around with the three girls.

[So, how was using Necroblaze?] Oracle asked Alex.

[Definitely more comfortable than hellfire. *sigh* Still can't believe I made the mistake to use it.] Alex sighed as he remembered his encounter 7 days ago.

*Flashback(One Week Ago)*

Alex could be seen training in a gravity room. After finishing his session, he stepped out and looked for his towel but found himself lost. Not because he was absent-minded, but he was no longer in the null void. Alex immediately tried to summon Dark moon, or well, tried to, but he wasn't able to do it.

He was more surprised and tried using his powers which worked, but felt extremely suppressed. He looked around where he was and saw nothing, literally.

The place had a grey textured land and the sky was pitch black, yet he was able to see fine in there. "... I waited to see you for quite a while Gaiason" Alex heard a voice behind him that sent a chill up his spine. He turned around to see the owner of the voice and calling his reaction shocked would be an understatement.

The owner of the voice was an extremely beautiful lady with long black hair, very pale skin, and wore a black gown that covered her from shoulders to feet. Her eyes seemed to attract anyone's gaze into them, but they were the personification of 'If you look in the abyss, the abyss looks back.' Her beauty was otherworldly, much like Alex first met Gaia, but unlike Gaia who seemed to have a soothing aura around her, the aura around the lady in front of him made him feel only one thing. 'DEATH!'

"... Lady... Death?" Alex asked, barely getting his voice out, barely holding himself in front of her overwhelming aura.

"A correct deduction." Death said and smiled at him, as he felt the pressure on him disappear. He looked at her a bit scared but still asked.

"It's an honor to be in your presence," Alex said and bowed, giving his respect.

"Aww, don't be like that, Gaia would say I'm bullying you~" Alex suddenly heard her talk in a playful tone, dismissing him, while he stood still, confused even with his quantum computer of a brain.

"You don't have to do that, Gaia and I have known each other for a long time, and you are the mate of my sister's host. I'm like an aunt to you, you know." She said with a kind smile, while Alex's brain completely shut down.

"Alex, Alex" Death waved her hand in front of him, making him snap out of his stupor, but he still couldn't speak anything.

"Fufufu, don't worry, take your time later to come to your senses, I brought you here to prevent you from making more mistakes." She dismissed Alex's confusion and then said in a slightly serious tone. Alex gave her his complete attention. Seeing this, she continued. "I noticed you use hellfire to let them pay for their sins, but there is a slight misconception you're holding." Alex got confused and she spoke "You are under the impression that all souls go to Mephisto's hell to pay their sins. While that is true in many worlds, it is not here. In this universe, Mephisto is the first mutant to ever exist who terrorized the land. He later found the dimension he currently inhabits and named it hell. It's not the one you were hoping for. Unfortunately, you have already used his fire to send souls to his dimension, thus landing them in Blackheart's palms."

Alex's eyes widened at the revelation. He didn't even know what to think of it. Because of his actions, he could end up in the same scenario as Spiderman facing Norman who had made a deal with Mephisto to be resurrected.

"Well, what's done is done. You can't change that. But be a bit more careful in the future. And here's my gift as well, I have taken my time from repairing the vortex caused by branching timelines. See you later~" Death said, as a black orb shot from her palm and entered Alex's chest and he blacked out.

Alex opened his eyes to find himself back at Null Void. [Alex, what happened? Why did my connection with you flicker?] Oracle asked in a scared and worried voice when they heard the system.

Hearing the system, both Alex and Oracle stayed silent for a few moments.

[... Alex] Oracle spoke in a calm voice, but the danger warnings from sixth sense told him otherwise, [what. the. hell. happened?]

"Uh, um you see.." Alex tried explaining, feeling Oracle's gaze from her hologram "..Lady death is my Aunt..??"

*Flashback end*

*Alex pov*

I chuckled remembering my first meeting with lady death... there is no way I'm comfortable in calling a primordial existence aunt just like that.

"Woof, Woof" I heard a voice near my feet, and looked down to see a black wolf pup with blue eyes looking at me wagging his tail, and I smiled seeing the energetic little one. "I'm almost done, Chase. Go and play with Terra for a while, I'll call for dinner later." I said patting him, and he jumped on me, licking my face, and headed towards the teleporter to Galvan-Prime.

Chase is the manifestation of the Dark Moon after Canis Lycaon combined with it. And he became soul bound as well. he has 3 forms, one as a little wolf cub as he was right now. The second is a size-changing grown-up wolf who would give nightmares to anyone seeing him. he can also change his size to nearly Zilla level. And his abilities are esoteric darkness manipulation, Death blade manipulation, and Death force manipulation. And by extension, so do I.

Esoteric darkness is darkness manipulation with a few extra perks, like creating a black hole. Yes, a black hole. Sensing someone's darkest desires, creating shadow beasts, etc. Death blade allows him to summon a group of blades that have the properties to destroy and harm almost all living creatures. It makes Fenrir and his god-killing fangs look dull. This also allows me to summon as many Dark moons as I want.

The third form is when he himself transforms into a sword. And his sword form oozes death force like a waterfall. It also wraps me in armor, which can combine with the armor I'm wearing and even my black body. Death force manipulation... is tricky. both of us are still at learning stages and practice it with the necessary precautions. But it solved Oracle's problem of not having info on death energy.

Necroblaze is an advanced form of hellfire, except thanks to Lady death's blessing, I don't feel going crazy or filled with negative emotions, which, even when I was careful were affecting me. A lot. Constant vigilance, doubting everything, self-blame for everything. Good riddance.

"Well, any missions completed?" I asked.

{*Ding* Mission complete- First 'hand' extermination!

I could only raise my brow hearing it. True Adamantine? What the heck have I been using so far?

"Oracle, run scans and find the difference between it and the one we had previously," I ordered.

He took the tablet and looked at the tablet, then widened his eyes in surprise. "Get the transport vehicles, go deliver the new product to the sources. Also, get all capture devices, we're going to get our weapon back." He yelled his orders. Turning his gaze back to the screen he muttered. "A weapon can never be a hero. Don't worry, both you and your 'Father' will come back to where you belong, with your friends as well."

"But sir, X-perience is not completely compatible with all blood types." A scientist expressed his doubt.

"Who's in charge here?" Stryker asked, glaring at him.

"I-I, Ri-Right away sir," He said and went back to his desk.

He kept the tablet and went to supervise the process, while the tablet showed a young girl fighting vampires with two claws coming from her knuckles.

*Back to Cave of Mysteries*

Alex heard Stryker's words and sighed in frustration. "...They never lay low do they?"

[If they did, they wouldn't be idiots]. Oracle answered back, but Alex couldn't help but feel from his sixth sense that Stryker isn't the only threat that's rising. 'But no matter who it is, no one messes with those I care for!' Alex thought with eyes devoid of emotions as he saw Stryker on his screen.
