The sound of the explosion replaced the music, and with it came the terrible screams of the people—an expression of their pain, grief, and terror. The fire quickly spread, eating away all the stalls and people on its way. Within a few minutes, the entire place became frenzied, with people rushing to their homes and people being kidnapped to the sky.
Luke shouted and pushed me to the ground a split second before the explosion, shielding me from whatever was coming. And we were fortunate not to be too close to the explosion, though more was to come.
"Luke!" I shook him, his body weighing me down. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." I could hear him groan as he pushed his body away from me, his eyes darting around for any wounds. "Are you hurt?" He inquired, his palm resting on my cheeks. It was a silly question. There's no way I'm going to get hurt when he's using his entire body to protect me.
