5 Weeks Later
Victoria walks to the bakery to meet up with Isabelle since it has been 5 weeks till she has last seen her friend. John has been keeping Victoria busy due to the fact that he commands her to stay inside of the house after she found out that he would bring home other women who would sleep with John in the stable. It disgusts her to no end about the fact that John would try to hurt her, it didn't bug her, but rather the fact that he is actively trying to hurt her.
Victoria takes a turn and sees Isabelle talking to the woman who works for Jack. She stops walking and watches the entire scene unfold before her.
"Mr. Fergusson would like to thank you for evidence that you have given us about Mr. Williams treachery. We had no idea that he was doing such a thing." The woman says with a slight smile.
"Anytime for someone who is bidding for the knowledge that I know." Isabelle returns the smile.
The woman walks away while giving Isabelle a piece of rolled up paper. She notices Victoria staring at them and she rushes to go hide somewhere.
Victoria walks up to Isabelle and turns her head to where the woman rushed off too, "Talking about John Williams theories once again?"
"I have found out where the old man is hiding at and the mayor wanted to know his whereabouts." Isabelle offers a load of bread over to Victoria.
Victoria takes the loaf of bread and munches on it. She sits down next to Isabelle, "Have you told them about William Booth's death?"
"Why would I tell them about that?" Isabelle looks at her friend with a raised eyebrow.
Victoria looks down at the ground. Everything is coming to her at full force and it shows how tired she is. John hasn't been making anything easier on her since she has found out that he is always cheating on her in the stable. She stops munching on her loaf of bread and looks up at the people who are staring at her looking scared. She raised an eyebrow, "Why is everyone being more scared than normal?"
Isabelle cross her legs, "Mr. Jack Fergusson has blamed you for William Booth's death." She bites into the bread as she stares at her friend. She eyes her for a bit before looking at the people around them. She munches on her bread before swallowing. She continues on talking, "Anything about Mr. Hot shot?"
"John has been having sex with many women in the stable after I sent him there. He has sent many letters to many women, to my parents, and even to an unknown source." Victoria doesn't eat her bread anymore. She tears it apart and throw it onto the ground so that stray dogs and birds can have the bread.
"Does that bother you?" Isabelle notices how her friend is acting.
Victoria doesn't faze, "I will be fine. I have survived long enough to know how greedy men can become."
Isabelle laughs, "You should go after women than! They are beautiful and have softer skin than males do."
Victoria shakes her head, "I don't see myself going after women."
Isabelle nods, "Only a choice for you to make." She continues on eating her bread.
Victoria watches everyone go by and says only to where her and Isabelle can hear each other, "I am planning on killing John Harbor."
"Oooo, when are you planning on doing it?" Isabelle turns her head to her friend.
"In a matter of time." Victoria smiles a bit as she soon loses it at the sight of some officers approaching random citizens with a piece of paper in their hands. She gets up from her seat, "I will need to go."
Isabelle looks at her, "Farewell my friend."
Victoria begins to walk away from the area as the officers walks up to Isabelle.
One of the officers shows Isabelle the piece of paper, "Have you seen Mrs. Victoria Harbor?"
"I have." Isabelle smiles wide in a devilish way. She stands up and points in the direction that Victoria went, "She went that way."
The officers nods and runs after Victoria.
Victoria runs through the town as she dodges everyone that comes in her way, not realizing that her hat has fallen off her head. She pulls up her dress and sprints in her heels as she hears the officers running after her. She turns around to see them gaining on her as she turns back around to dodge more people. Her feet begins to cramp as her heart begins to quicken from built up fear and stress, but not only that, it's from the running.
The officers begins to yell at Victoria to stop running as they run faster after her. Carrying their guns in their hands as they push citizens out of the way forcefully. They continued on running as they push more people out of the way.
Victoria takes a sharp right turn and sees a cart full of hay. She rushes towards the cart and climbs into it to hide in the hay. She climbs into it a bit more until she hears running go by her. Her breath is heavy from the running as she gets herself comfortable in the hay. Before she could fully relax, the cart begins to move. She carefully crawls through the hay and sees that she is leaving London. There is a man who is in front of the cart that is controlling a brown and a brown spotted horse. An old man controls the horses as he coughs after every few minutes.
Victoria gets back into the hay and gets herself comfortable. Knowing that her old normal life is no longer as it seems. A lot more stress is catching up to her as she silently cries to herself. She didn't force back the tears this as she looks at the ring that John has placed upon her finger. After a few minutes, she grew tired of being in the cart. Carefully, she crawls through the hay and pokes her head out to see that the cart isn't going so fast. She props out a leg and jumps out of the cart. Landing on her stomach.
Victoria stands up and dusts herself off. She looks down and sees that there is dirt on her clothing. The brown is noticeable as she tries to get it off, but to no avail, it didn't come off. With a heavy sigh, Victoria stops trying and looks at the direction that she has came from and looks at the direction that the cart went down on. She mutters to herself, "I should have stayed on the blasted cart." She goes down on the trail to where the cart has gone off too.
The sun begins to set as Victoria continues on walking on the dirt road. Noticing how beautiful the area is at night. It brought a small smile on Victoria's face, how she would love it to ride out here during the night on Samuel. The animal would love being able to run around and go through the grass.
Victoria soon stops at a crossway to where she has 3 options to go down on. She could go to the left, right, or keep going straight. She couldn't see the tracks that the cart has made due to the area being so dark. She decides to keep on going straight till she has found a light. Her smile disappeared as she continues on walking towards the light. She walks up to the light to see that it's another cart going in her direction. She soon stops as the cart stops next to her.
A young man with light blonde hair stops the cart right next to Victoria, "Hello there Ms.! Are you lost?"
Victoria looks at the young man, "I am."
"Would you like a lift?" The young man jumps down from his seat and walks up to Victoria.
Victoria nods, "That would be lovely."
The young man smiles, "Well than! Come on and sit next to me!" He motions the seat in front of the cart.
Victoria walks over to the seat and gets up onto it as she watches the young man goes to the other side to get on. She looks at him, "Are you from London?"
"That corrupted town? May the devil bite my toe, no." The young man motions the cart forward.
Victoria feels a sudden relief inside of her as she looks straight ahead.
The young man looks at her and notices what she is wearing, "You from London?"
"Yes." Victoria says hesitantly.
"Where are my manners? My mother raised me like a young gentleman, not a pig. My name is Alexander Church, what is your name?" Alexander smiles warmly at Victoria.
"My name is Victoria Brimswald." Victoria says while looking at the man next to her.
"Brimswald, isn't that from the Brimswald family that is one of the richest families whom'st is friends with the queen?" Alexander asks concernly.
Victoria cups her hands together and feels the ring on her. She nods, "Indeed."
Alexander laughs, "Man if only I can meet the queen, that would be splendid."
Victoria tries not to smile, "One day I will let you meet her."
"Great!" Alexander excitedly chimes. He lifts up the leash that he has for the horses and brings it down softly to make the horses go a bit faster. Leading them somewhere other than London.
