Li-li and Hao-Hao ran into their daughter's room, holding bundles of dresses. She was giggling and pointing and a frozen mirror. When she saw the bemused looks on her parent's face, she laughed till she fell off the bed.
"She has ice magic." Li-li said joyfully.
"I am so proud of our little girl." Hao-Hao smiled and carried her.
"Da-da-daddy. Mom-my." She stuttered in English.
"Awww." Her parents said in unison.
"She can speak English?" Hao-Hao asked Li-li.
"I practiced a few words with her."
"We should try on the dresses for her." Li-li suggested and they got to dressing her. During that time, Mei-Mei was thinking of something else.
'I haven't seen their phones and I wonder what year it is. What movies do they watch? What is the latest fashion trend? She needed to know.'
"Mommy, daddy, I want you to do something for me." She said in her cute baby voice.
"Li-li, I thought she was a shy, reclose kid." Hao-Hao was getting suspicious.
"Yes but sometimes, she is a talkative."
"Mama, I am not." Mei-Mei stuck out her tongue.
"When did you learn how to speak English so well?" Hao-Hao looked at his two years old daughter.
"I always knew how to speak English, I just hid it."
"Perks of being the Spirit Emperor." Li-li nudged him.
"I need you to bring a dictionary for me in both Mandarid and British English."
"What do you need those for?" Her mother was alarmed.
"I need to train my body as well as my mind. But now that I am with my father, I don't need to supress that genius in me. Since you are the Spirit Emperor, you will teach me the ways of the deities." She toddle-talked.
"Who told you that?" Her father eyed the little girl.
"You and Mom spoke about sending me to the Divine Temple. I am not deaf or dumb." She crossed her small arms.
The boldness of their daughter shocked both parents. She had the wisdom of her father and the smarts and looks of her mom.
"You are a smart little one, aren't you?" Li-li ruffled her baby's hair. Her parents packed her luggage and took it away, leaving her alone in the room.
