In one chapter he launched an attack and turned all five opponents into a bloody mist. Then the next chapter the commander is miraculously alive after being turned into a bloody mist and leads his sect to attack. I think that should set you expectations for this novel.
The story seems like it was written by a teenager. The direction, flow everything is cliche and cringe as fk. So many predictable things in this story that I feel like the author is inexperienced in plot making.
My review on the first 20 chapters: Translation isn't the worst, but it could do with some improving. The names of realms and such will switch from time to time, but it's bearable. The story isn't anything new except for the fact that from what we know right now, the mc is living on a floating island that's composed of several clans/villages. Outside of that is the bigger cultivation world which we still have little understanding of. The past 20 chapters haven't really shown anything substantial enough for me to comment further and the mc feels quite bland. Wouldn't be my first choice for this week's trial read but it could have been worse.

its bad not worth for it to be picked and story is okay some cliche but translation is barely passable and the emotions are too much they look artificial not a true looks like a newbie writer maybe he/$he improved but the first 40 chapters are barely ok

you need to do more research, golden core isn't powerful at all. this like first couple of chapters I'd full of you pushing to us that "ohhh ancient sect./ golden core powerhouse" no. golden core middle of the beginning levels its like a small boss that shouldn't fill a couple of pages worth just to push on to the readers "he's strong" lol. but good try.

A Cultivation novel written for six year olds. Posturing and wasting opportunities included. MC has a very low IQ and most decisions seem arbitrary. Why the author is so reluctant about killing while still doing it is a mystery to me. Seriously, an old and powerful Devil Cultivatior 'knocking out' an enemy and then leaving? Or did stabbing a downed enemy mean killing them. I don't know because the writer shyies away from actually writing about death and killing. My main complaint is about the way this book is written, not about the world building or characters (I have seen better, but it is webnovel, so my expectations are low). I won't be continuing, but a well done Manga might get my attention.
