It was past 6 in the afternoon when Josh and I arrived in the house. Mom insisted that I have to take a rest to gain energy and be strong for Honey.

“Are you okay?” he asked as we slid into my room, his hands holding mine.

“You know I’m not.” I answered pulling away from him.

He heaved a sigh and raked his fingers over his brown hair.

I watched him as he pulled his tie and stepped inside the bathroom. I know I was being unfair with Josh but I couldn’t think straight right now. I have to think about my daughter, on how to get her out of suffering from her illness.

I need to know what place in Los Angeles did Josh book his flight the last time. I need to check his phone, while he’s in the shower.

It’s crazy like I was a jealous wife peeking on the phone of my cheating husband, but it isn’t like that. I am now clutching his phone, staring down at it.
