Capítulo 19: New magic part 1
after satisfying Roxy all night and after having a nice breakfast with my girls
I found myself walking back to Orsted Corp.
honestly....it's only been 2 days and it already feels like routine for the rest of my life....
but I have to do it to protect my children and the loved ones I have left....

enter the office as usual but not before
greet Faria who returned the greeting with the same expression of shock
knock on the door waiting for a response
"Rudeus, come in," I heard Orsted say dryly.
enter the office and observe Alek
who, as always, was sitting at his desk focused on his typewriter.

"Good morning, Mr. Orsted," I said as usual.
"Good morning," he responded.
I sat in the chair in front of his desk as usual waiting for him to speak.
-Rudeus, your performance yesterday was spectacular, however your repertoire of spells was not as extensive as I remembered.
"And now that I no longer have the limitation of my slow mana regeneration, I will train you, in short I will teach you more spells," said Orsted as he searched under his desk and took out a stack of papers and books that looked like dictionaries.
"Here," he said while pointing at them.
-Here are all the spells I know, you may know most of them but now we will concentrate on those of saint rank and above-
Looking at the spells on paper I noticed that some had been written decades ago.
and others were written recently
Also, the ones that looked like dictionaries looked old and worn out.
I guess Orsted made the new roles more recently...I guess he made them for me to learn.
"Now, we will discard the advanced level spells and below except for barrier magic and detoxification," he said while rummaging through the papers.
So we spent 15 minutes discarding the spells I already knew until we reached the holy rank spells.
"Culumunimbus, I already know that one," I said, stacking it with the others.
"King rank magic, illumination... these interest me" I said while I put them in another pill
-emperor rank magic...absolute zero
saint rank magic, exorcism magic
"I'm interested in her," I said, stacking them.

The cover didn't say anything but on the first page it said
god rank water spell...
The whole damn book, which I estimated was about 150 pages, was just the damn spell...
Really what the fuck?....
checking the other books it was the same result
god rank fire magic.....200 pages
wind magic god rank 70 pages....the shortest oh god.....
earth magic god rank 100 pages I think so
but the biggest...
divine rank detoxification spell...
I estimated that the damn thing had about 500 pages...
"Is it really necessary to learn these?" I asked incredulously.
"Yes," Orsted answered me dryly.
-I see...- shit...
Orsted looked at me blankly and gave a long sigh.
"Well, we will concentrate for now on the saint rank spells up to emperor, you will learn the god rank spells at another time" Orsted said with an expression of resignation.
"Thank you very much sir," I said relieved.
"For nothing," he told me as he got up from his chair and looked at me with his trademark terrifying look.
"Is something wrong, sir?" I asked, somewhat scared.
Orsted looked at me for a moment and simply shook his head.

"Now you must learn the spells," he said as he headed to the basement.

This time we teleport to a plain with few trees.
"Where are we?" I asked while looking around.
-We are in the south of Asura near the border- Orsted answered without giving it importance.
"I see," I said.
-Well, what element will you start with?- Orsted asked.
I searched among the spells and chose the water one.
-I want to start with the water king rank- I said.
"Very good," Orsted responded as he walked forward while inspecting the place.
-Here, Rudeus, pay close attention to me,
lighting as its name says
"It is a spell that generates a large ray of light towards a specific point," said Orsted as he extended his hand towards a tree.
-Oh,spirits of the magnificents waters, i beseech the Prince of thunder! Grant me my wish, bless me with thy savagery, and reveal to this insignificant servant a glimpse of thy power! Let me fear strike the heart of man as thy divine hammer strikes its anvil and cover the land with water!-Orsted said as if he were reading poetry, he was saying the spell verbatim.
-Come, oh rain, and wash everything away in thy flood of destruction!-Orsted continued, the spell was exactly as written and black clouds with lightning began to form in the sky.
"Incredible..." Alek let out while the two of us looked at Orsted.
-I call upon you, mighty spirit of ligth, shining lord of the heavens!-The rain clouds began to concentrate in one place and the thunder became more powerful with every second.
-Do you see the impudent foe towering before us? Do you see your sworn enemy, in all his arrogance?! I would be the holy blade that strikes him down!- The black cloud became concentrated in a single point while enormous rays came out of it and now only the last verse is missing.
-Let your radiant power teach him that the Emperor yet reigns supreme!- The black cloud collapsed on itself as it formed a circle made of pure light right above a tree.
-Ligthning!- Orsted finished saying and the circle of pure light in a fraction of a second ejected a beam, but one like he had never seen.
This looked like a huge pillar of light that in a fraction of a second the pillar of light hit the tree with a huge explosion afterwards.
(booooom!!!)
The explosion was so loud that it left my ears ringing and I was momentarily blinded.
A couple of minutes later, relieving the discomfort with healing magic, I could see the remnants of the spell.
What was once a huge tree was left as simple branches made of charcoal and around it a crater of burnt earth.
"Alright, Rudeus, it's your turn," said Orsted.
"It's okay," I responded.
Moving towards where Orsted was, look for another tree of the same size near the previous one.
-okay...fuuu....-
I said taking a breath and pointing Aqua Hertia towards the tree.
...
....
-illumination!!!- I finished the spell and just like Orsted's, only with the difference that it was more powerful, a gigantic pillar of light went at full speed towards the ground.
The result? The spell left me deaf and blind for at least 3 minutes...
And there was absolutely nothing left of the tree, just a huge crater of at least 100 meters of pure scorched earth.

-Perfect Rudeus, now try the spell without conjuring- said Orsted
following your order simply imagine a huge lightning bolt falling from the sky
The spell quickly formed in the sky and I decided to make it less powerful so as not to become deaf or blind...
The lightning struck again on another tree successfully.

..
"Well Rudeus, now you are a King rank water mage, and we will follow the same process with the other spells" said Orsted.
(sigh)
This is going to last a long time....
