Gu Chaoyan let out a sigh of relief and put away the needles.

She was not certain whether she was able to save him. She tried her best, but left the rest to the call of destiny. It seemed that the Dean fed him many of the pills she made, that was why he woke up earlier than she had anticipated.

"Young Duke, you are awake?" the Dean said excitedly.

The Dean was not keeping his voice down, so everyone outside heard the news.

Mrs. Duke North was the most excited one. She got rid of the hands that held her and rushed into the room. She saw her son opening his eyes, still pale in the face and looking quite feeble, but he was alive!

"Chen!" Mrs. Duke North shouted and took hold of Zheng Chenyi's hands.

"Mom." Zheng Chenyi answered feebly.

Gu Chaoyan had just put away the needles, but frowned slightly as she saw the scene. "Mrs. Duke North, Young Duke has just woken up and he is very weak, please let him rest now."
