Capítulo 44: Rising Above the Conflict

When Natlaie sat down next to her husband at the table, she did it with a smile and an unreadable expression. Her three sisters-in-law had been expecting a disaster and were shocked beyond asking a question, and Alonso simply brushed it off focusing on feeding his bride instead.

She was thankful that her husband either went along with her wish to hide what happened or postponed the conversation until later when they were alone. Alonso is worth the fight. She reminded herself again.

The first breakfast with Alonso's sisters went better than Natalie had expected. They joked around the table and included Natalie at every opportunity without subjecting her to too much spotlight. After everyone was full and happy, her sisters-in-law excused themselves to attend to their own business. Only after no one was left in the dining room did Natalie and Alonso retreat to the privacy of their room.
